Expensive but rotten

The Cardo Packtalk Edge is one of the most frustrating pieces of motorcycle equipment I have ever used.

It is simply not reliable in the conditions where it is supposed to be used. In rain, the unit can become completely unreliable, and connecting two identical Packtalk Edge units can turn into an absurd exercise of repeated attempts — sometimes taking up to an hour before a connection is finally established.

This is a motorcycle communication system. It should connect quickly and stay connected. Having to spend a significant part of a ride trying to get two Cardos to communicate is completely unacceptable.

For a premium-priced product, I expect basic reliability — especially in rain and when connecting to another identical unit. Unfortunately, my experience with the Packtalk Edge has been extremely disappointing.

I would not recommend this product

Over £300 spent, and getting warranty support has been a nightmare

Over £300 spent, and getting warranty support has been a nightmare

I paid over £350 for a Cardo Edge and expected better customer service when something went wrong. The voice commands aren’t working, so I made a warranty claim. More than two weeks of emails back and forth later, I’m still waiting for a resolution. Last email gave me dealers to go to, while dealer said cardo wants to deal directly with customer. Probably to string along long enough and hoping you go away after taking your money. Why send back to dealer if dealers in first place pointed me to cardo

I keep being asked the same questions, even though I’ve already answered them. The replies feel like copied-and-pasted standard responses rather than someone actually reading my emails. I’ve also been asked to send photos showing how the unit is installed, adding to an already frustrating process.

Instead of feeling that Cardo is investigating a potentially faulty unit, I feel like I’m being asked to prove that everything else isn’t to blame. Cardo was happy to take my money, but the there is no support.

For a product costing this much, I expected a straightforward warranty process and customer service that listens. So far, it’s been deeply disappointing. If i had seen reviews buying the unit i would have chose different manufacturer

This cowboy firm started work in July 2025 .
They are still here remedying their bad work eg.round gutter pipes into square ones.
They come for a day make a mess then disappear for days.
Any council that employs them should look at the reviews, this seems to be cardo’s normal working practice.

HORRIBLE sound

I paid 500 dollars for a sound system that sounds like headphones from the 80s. HORRIBLE sound!

STAY AWAY FROM CARDO WARRANTY SCAM

STAY AWAY FROM CARDO! Total Scam of a Warranty!
After being a loyal Cardo customer for over 20 years—buying every single model since their very first release—this is how they treat loyalty. Absolute garbage customer service. My expensive Packtalk Edge completely stopped working while it was still fully covered under warranty. Cardo completely refused to honor the warranty for one pathetic, insulting reason: the control buttons showed signs of wear.
Let that sink in. Worn buttons on a device meant to be pressed while riding a motorcycle is a glaring durability defect, not user error! Cardo is literally punishing paying customers for the crime of using the buttons that they were too cheap to build properly. To make their "customer service" even more of a slap in the face, they refused a replacement and instead offered me a joke of a discount code. Here is the scam: that coupon is only valid on Cardo’s official website. After applying their pathetic "discount," the final price on their site was only 9% lower than what the exact same unit costs normally on other online retail shops!Cardo used to be the gold standard for moto comms, but they have officially turned into a greedy, hostile company that builds flimsy products and scams you out of your warranty rights. Do not give them a single penny of your hard-earned money. Look anywhere else!

Packtalk Edge £300 worth

Packtalk Edge £300 worth. Cradle snapped from pushing down to remove it for charging, it was around 4 months old. Cardo said it’s physical damage can’t help you. So I asked how your spouse to remove it with out pushing down on the release bar at the front.

No reply, emailed back 3 times chasing 🤣😂

The company’s return policy’s are very questionable. I have also logged the report with the UK consumer weights.

Do not buy from Cardo directly

Do not buy from Cardo directly!

I purchased the Packtalk Pro dual pack from Cardo. I was charged $1201.12 CAD. I then later was notified by UPS I had to pay another $182.61 CAD on top of that. The same system is advertised on Amazon for $1,027.87 CAD, leaving me out of pocket by almost $400. I notified Cardo of this issue and they said they do not price match and it is up to individual dealers. Pointing out to them that I bought from them directly and am a returning customer and this creates a disincentive to people buying from them fell on deaf ears.

I am returning the unit and will never buy another Cardo system again!

I purchased from their website

I purchased from their website, only to find the next day that their exact same product brand new was for sale $200 cheaper on amazon, and its wasnt an amazon sale, and it wasn't them selling it. I thought i was doing the right thing purchasing direct from them. Response, in short, we can't control how much third parties sell our products for. Bullshit.

A warning to all potential buyers

A warning to all potential buyers. Cardo positions itself as a premium brand, but when a material defect occurs, they completely wash their hands of it and blame the customer. On my Packtalk Neo, the plastic latch of the cradle simply snapped due to wind resistance and micro-vibrations during a normal highway ride. I treat my helmet with extreme care – it was never dropped, bumped, or mishandled. The response from the support network? "Impossible, our premium plastic never breaks on its own, it must be user error."It is unacceptable that a device at this price point suffers a structural failure from ordinary wind pressure, only for the company to gaslight the customer instead of providing support. Paying a premium price should mean getting premium customer care and acknowledging manufacturing defects, not running away from warranty responsibilities. Very disappointing customer service. Think twice before buying if you care about a reliable company that stands behind its products.

I am extremely disappointed with the…

I am extremely disappointed with the Cardo system. What should be a premium communication device has turned into a constant source of frustration. The units regularly drop communications during rides, and it seems like every other ride requires a complete reset just to get basic functionality back.

The Bluetooth connectivity is equally unreliable. Pairing with a new phone is often a nightmare, and even when it does connect, the system frequently loses the connection or refuses to reconnect. As a result, listening to music becomes hit-or-miss, defeating one of the main reasons I purchased the system in the first place.

For a product marketed toward riders who depend on reliable communication, the performance is unacceptable. Instead of enjoying the ride, I find myself troubleshooting, resetting devices, and reconnecting phones. The amount of time spent trying to make this system work properly is ridiculous.

I expected a dependable communication system. Instead, I got an expensive piece of equipment that requires constant maintenance and delivers inconsistent results. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Cardo to anyone looking for reliable rider-to-rider communication or seamless Bluetooth connectivity.

I wish Id researched more before…

I wish Id researched more before lashing put £160 on this garbage. Constant pairing issues and around .75 second latency, so your partner talks, and you can sort of hear through the helmets then the Catdo kicks in like a cheap echo unit do the conversation is really hard to decipher. We spend our lives re pairing the units and Ive had enough. Going back to the cheap £70 Chinese units I had from Amazon. They work!!!

Second time i bought these

Second time i bought these, now the cheaper one because i only talk to the passenger. After a few times use this cheaper version did not want to connect anymore. The more expensive one had the same problem after 4 years of casual use. This brand is just expensive garbage. Updating did not help. Just garbage.
