I am being kind by giving them one star.
I went to the Tesco express store earlier today and the staff have no pride in the store.
Chicken steaks were use by 13/10 ( today is 14/10) easy peelers were mouldy and the store was untidy.
If I can walk into a store and identify these items. What are the staff doing?
I ended up in Waitrose where I picked up the items I needed, which were all fresh and comparable prices.
amaretto Tiramisu
I thought I’d really treat myself and buy the Amaretto version of your Tiramisu. I was so disappointed that after nearly £1.50 more than the normal one, I could not taste ANY Amaretto. If you going to mention it, please make sure we can taste it. It’s nothing special unfortunately p
I have no problem with gallows corner…
I have no problem with gallows corner store. The major issue is lack of maintenance to the car park signage. Over the last 8months i have complained to several managers how dangerous this has become, people now drive up and down any of the access roads causing near accidents for people not expecting traffic from the wrong direction. there are no NO ENTRY signs at the store end of the roads causing severe problems. In the event of any accident or incident I feel Tesco`s are responsible
Appreciating the delivery service
I alternated between Tesco and Asda simply to get the best price on my regular shopping. Asda really messed up, so now I am solely with Tesco and more appreciative of their service which I had been taking for granted.
The website is simple once you get used to it. Prices and offers fluctuate etc. You can amend your order right up to 11.45pm on the day before. Payment is taken as a single lump on the morning of your delivery.
I book a 4 hour slot. In the morning, I get a text and an Email narrowing this down to a one hour slot. Another Email as a receipt and a notification of (rare) substitutes or unavailable items. Substitutes are great if you have requested them and you can leave a (short) note to the picker.
Drivers are polite and helpful. Tracking is spot on. When things go wrong or there is a delay, you are kept informed. All told … brilliant
How much lower will Tesco sink?
It's no surprise to see that the overwhelming number of comments on here have been given just ONE star.
In less than a month, we have had our weekly delivery cancelled TWICE!
No explanation, no apology, no access to local management.....nothing. If this level of service continues, we will be leaving Tesco for good and go to one of Tesco's many rivals.
Finally, does anyone on here know actually how to contact their local grocery delivery depot manager for a proper, truthful explanation and reason for two missed deliveries?
Dear Tesco, As well as issuing your delivery drivers
with the names and addresses of your customers, why not include their phone numbers too? That way, the driver would be able to explain to a customer the reason why a delivery cannot be made.
Or is that far too complex for you to understand?
Shoddy customer service is a huge understatement here.

The power of Trust Pilot’s name.
I have Tesco home delivery service, arriving once a week. I have had cause to complain about short dates on items in the past, and received refunds with no problem at all.
I had a delivery on 11th October and the next morning found a loaf with 13th October date on it. I was never going to use a loaf in two days, and would have refused it had I been made aware of it. So I phoned Tesco Groceries, explained about it, and was given an immediate refund. Today, 13th October, I found another loaf with 13tg October in it, and two out of a purchase of three dated 14th October, the other 21st October. So I asked why couldn’t they all have been that date.
Firstly, this member of staff wasn’t going to give me a refund on the bread, and secondly, he told me that it was acceptable for me to have two items with a short date and the other with a long date.
It was only when I asked him for his name, because I was going to report this on Trust Pilot that he decided to give me refunds on all I had complained about. So thank you, Trust Pilot. It shows the power and influence your name has on those who should know better!
A frightening food-safety incident.
A frightening food-safety incident and a deeply disappointing response from Tesco Head Office and Surrey Quays, London SE16
After around 38 years as a Tesco customer, I never expected to experience something as frightening and concerning as this. What happened has seriously damaged my confidence in Tesco, not only because of the incident itself, but also because of the way my concerns were handled afterwards.
On 25 July 2026, while celebrating my birthday with my daughter, we opened a Tesco Vintage Style Heart Cake purchased from Tesco Surrey Quays. When I took my very first bite, I found a sharp metal dressmaking pin in my mouth. It caught my gum, and I was fortunate not to swallow it. Finding a sharp metal object in food is extremely serious and could have resulted in a much more serious injury. What should have been a happy birthday celebration instead became a frightening and distressing experience.
I reported the incident to Surrey Quays Tesco and returned both the cake and the pin to the store. I understood that they would be kept together for investigation. A member of staff took photographs and said she would send them to me, but I never received them. When I returned to the store, I became concerned about how the cake and pin had been handled and whether the evidence had been kept together as I had understood it would be.
These concerns added to my lack of confidence in how the incident was being dealt with.
Tesco later told me that its supplier’s investigation concluded that the pin had come from a production-line worker’s headscarf. Tesco also told me that corrective action had been taken, including a ban on pins in production areas. While I welcomed the reported corrective action, I expected a clear and thorough explanation of the investigation and the safeguards introduced to prevent a similar incident happening again.
Instead, important questions remained unanswered. I asked about the examination carried out and whether the checks could detect other foreign objects, including non-metallic items. Tesco told me it did not have further details about the examination’s parameters or capabilities. I found this deeply disappointing. After finding a sharp metal pin in a cake, I believe it is reasonable to expect clear information about the investigation and the measures being relied upon to protect customers.
There were also two wooden toothpicks found on our plates during the birthday celebration. A separate designer cake from an independent company had been placed alongside the Tesco cake, and the cakes were served on the same plates. I cannot establish where the toothpicks came from, and I am not accusing Tesco of being responsible for them. I mention them because they added to my concerns about foreign objects and the importance of understanding what checks had been carried out. To be clear, the metal pin was found in my mouth when I took the first bite of the Tesco cake, which had been opened first.
Tesco offered me a £100 Tesco MoneyCard as a goodwill gesture, which I accepted. However, this should not be mistaken for a resolution of my complaint. Accepting the gesture does not mean that I am satisfied, that my questions have been answered, or that my concerns about food safety and the handling of the evidence have gone away.
What I found particularly disappointing was the lack of clear, detailed answers following such a serious incident. I was left feeling that I had to keep asking questions to obtain information about something that should have been treated with the utmost seriousness from the outset. A goodwill gesture cannot replace a transparent investigation, a proper explanation or meaningful reassurance for a customer who has found a sharp metal pin in their food.
After approximately 38 years of shopping with Tesco, I expected much better. This experience has seriously undermined my trust in the company. I hope Tesco recognises that this was not a minor complaint or simply a matter of customer dissatisfaction. It was a serious food-safety incident, and customers deserve to know that their concerns will be investigated thoroughly, that evidence will be handled appropriately, and that clear answers will be provided.
I am sharing my experience because I believe customers should be able to make informed decisions and because I would like Tesco to take greater responsibility for addressing the concerns I have raised. I remain disappointed that, despite all the correspondence, I have not received the level of explanation and reassurance I believe this incident warranted
Have just used Tesco Market place for…
Have just used Tesco Market place for the first time and certainly not impressed. Delivery was within 1-3 days but 5 days later still waiting. InPost web site tells me it’s been delivered but it hasn’t now I’m being told another 2 days probably. Won’t be using again
NEVER, EVER BUY from Tescos Marketplace or SIM DRISTRIBUTORS BOTH ARE CON MERCHANTS
NEVER, EVER ORDER ANYTHING FROM TESCO MARKET PLACE!
The most blatant scam artists I have come across who take no responsibility for their vendors and when things go wrong, refer you to their terms of business. As if anyone reads terms of business when buying bin liners???!! I ordered two packs of bin liners for a total of £16 from SIM DISTRIBUTION and the courier just dumped them outside my house without even bothering to ring the door bell or knock on the door (I had waited all day for them to arrive). The bags were then obviously stolen from outside the house and the SIM DISTRIBUTION is saying that the courier delivered and sent me a photo of the parcel outside my front door. Apparently, according to their "customer service" the parcel was not sent to be signed for and so it's just tough....they consider it to be delivered. After ringing Tescos "customer service" twice, it turns out that I need to file a police report and then come back to them. File a police report for bin liners...........
Userd Tesco's Click & Collect service…
Userd Tesco's Click & Collect service for my weekly grocery run. The staff was polite, packed everything carefully, and substituted unavaliable items with sensible alternatices. Very efficient service.
Rubbish service
The worst experience of my life bought a carpet cleaner but it broke down a couple of months after Tesco refused to exchange the told me to contact the company direct, not good customer service care.
I saw Danny
I saw Danny, the manager of the Leeds Sheepscar Tesco Express, shopping in Sainsbury’s this evening, which I found surprising. However, my main concern is the standard of management within the store itself. Whenever I visit, Danny often appears to be tucked away in a corner on her mobile phone rather than being visible and engaging with the team or customers. I would hope to see a more hands-on approach from someone in a management position.
Non delivery - twice in a row…
Twice in a row waiting for a delivery at 10pm the driver did not turn up. When you phone they just say I cannot guarantee it won’t happen again and if you make a complaint you won’t hear back as dealt with internally! It’s the same driver who cannot be bothered to find us as we live down country lane. All other drivers find us.
They then say can refund and replace but refund takes 4 days so you have to pay out again first!
I’m never using them again. Terrible customer service.
Home delivery missed 20 litres of cat litter…
Home delivery receipt showed 20 litre cat litter as available and picked only a few hours prior to delivery yet it was missing, strange how you can miss something so large yet try charge for it, lucky I noticed.
Horrible low quality fruit and veg
Horrible low quality fruit and veg, Lidl and k Aldis mile better quality and far cheaper. Meats offering pathetically bad. Quite obviously Tesco use starved wolves as quality controllers. Slowest checkout queues in the country, rubbish self check out service AND THE WORST WE ONLY LOUDY TROLLEYS OF ALL SUPERMARKETS. That’s why it’s Sainsbury from now on. Tesco 🖕
Filmed my debit card at the self checkout!
Was at the checkout, where everything is scanned as I shop, and a huge screen was on the top of the checkout machine displaying MY image as I was checking out. It didn't have anything else in the shot - not my basket, the scanner, nothing. BUT what it did have was a full view of my chuffin DEBIT CARD as I went to pay! 🤬🤬 I was horrified and asked what the purpose of the camera right in my face was as nobody had permission to film me. A cocky rude young worker said, "well you might as well complain about all the ones in the ceiling then hadn't you!" How I didn't deck him I don't know. I was advised that it does not record me "so what was the issue?" Nobody knew why we had a camera on us and they didn't care anyway. I really couldn't lower myself to talk to these people any more so I left. However, I have checked and having a camera on my debit card is 100% illegal!! I have notified the relevant authority and will not be stepping anywhere near any of these disgusting places again!
Get a grip Tesco…
Yet again my needed items not available because of a freezer problem. That's 3 weeks now I go to Morrisons instead for my home delivery. Get a grip Tesco. Now looking to change permanently my supplier
