I would give zero stars if possible
I would give zero stars if possible, this company have no customer support whatsoever I have been trying for days to contact them to change my billing details, absolutely no response how can a company provide the service without customer support other than AI which takes you round in circles
Auto-renewed our nonprofit for 3 years at a 35% higher price, zero flexibility
We’re a small volunteer-run nonprofit in NYC.
In July, Wix auto-renewed our site plan for 3 years and charged us $1,212.19, 35% more (!!!) than the last cycle.
Because we didn't have a capacity to constantly monitor our inbox, we missed the renewal notice and only noticed the charge a few weeks after it happened.
We asked Wix support to switch to the cheapest plan for just 1 year and get the rest back, and said we’d happily stay with Wix on a yearly plan. Support and a supervisor were kind, but the refunds team said no to everything we proposed, even to the partial refund. The only thing they offered was more time on the plan, which doesn’t help when that money was meant for people we serve who have nowhere to sleep and need medical help!!
We’ve paid Wix over $2,100 since 2023. Locking a tiny nonprofit into 3 years is absolutely predatory behavior and I do not recommend Wix to anyone. Do it at your own peril

Wix FRAUDULENTLY charged my personal bank account. I don’t have a current account with Wix since I closed my business two years ago and yesterday, I “somehow” authorized Google to share my bank information with Wix. My case has been forwarded to an “advanced expert” team for review and I might get my money back in 45 days. BEWARE of this company- they are willing to use shady practices to get into your account.
Absolute shambles of a company
Absolute shambles of a company. I changed my mobile number and forgot to update it on my Wix account. Now I cannot log on to my account without a 2 factor authentication and having to send a code to my old number which I do have anymore. After contacting Wix, giving them every single detail under the sun including a picture of my ID, previous invoices, previous proof of payments of invoices, registered email addresses, passwords for my account etc etc, they will still not grant me access to my account, so I can no longer edit my website. No number to call, and despite numerous requests to speak to someone over the phone, they will still not help me. Do not use!
Chris.
Step away
Dude this might be the worst platform to build a website. Everything is so laggy and you can't copy and paste stuff normally. You have to manually upload each and every single photo. Additionally, adding each photo will also mess with your elements on the page/section, which will require even more time to fix. Genuinely a test of patience if you're going to use Wix. You're better off using google sites over this hot trash.

I use Wix as a portfolio site for my art. It allows me to have control over my content. Authenticity is deeply important to me so I don't use AI for the work or the writing.
Wix sold me a year of email for a domain with one month left
I decommissioned my Wix site but paid specifically to keep my business email. In March Wix charged me for a full year of Google Workspace email. The domain it depended on expired a month later. I'd chosen not to renew it, but at no point did Wix tell me the email would stop working without the domain. Since April the mailbox hasn't been able to send or receive, and I've likely missed client emails. Wix's position is that business email is non-refundable. The product works, but the billing doesn't check whether what you're paying for can actually function. Check every subscription carefully.

Wish I had read the reviews first. I built a site on Wix years ago and remembered it being a smooth process.
Wix' new "harmony" editing suite was marketed as the best thing ever, suitable and perfect for exactly what I was trying to do with a website....
Spent 40 hours manually doing the copy and media on the site because the AI kept messing it up and crashing my browser.
Eventually tried to add the key plug-in/app to my site to make it function, downloaded the app in wix fine, spent hours going through it setting everything up and went to add as an element to my site and it wouldn't work, no error message or anything. AI didn't have a clue, google didn't have any useful insights, eventually i connected to the help chat and was told Harmony doesn't support that app and my best option was to start again using their old editing suite.............. Of course this is after I've signed up with a business membership, paid the year in full to get the discount, bought add-ons and extras etc etc.
The help chat staff member was very sympathetic, said he took a compliant and submitted it for me, said I would hear back. That was over 2 weeks ago and I haven't heard a thing. Worst thing is I still get ads all over my feed for how good wix harmony is...
Long and short of it, do not recommend but i'm stuck using them for my site now.

Using Wix is great for beginners or small businesses very easy to manage and use for beginners who are not familiar with tech. I was able to do everything with ease. The only thing that’s keeping me from giving it five stars is that it has limitations to how you edit your site but that’s only when your company grows or become something bigger also depends on what you use the website for I’d say it’s really great for a small business growing or blogs things like that I love it.
Wix has made website creating easy!

Fustrating if your pro-designer
Fustrating if your pro-designer. Just no logic to have the UX. Its basically the windows of website builders (meaning everything everywhere). I was a previously on Squarespace - I decided to give Wix a shot because of the more control on how layouts / designs work, which it does - without a doubt - but the UX is atrocious and frankly annoying in someplaces. One case and point - URL slug - you'd think changing the URL slug would do just that... but no, by default some redirect is setup - with no clear directions on how to remove the redirect. Firstly - why is by default having a redirect - when I'm changing the URL.... and secondly if you're going to add a redirect without me even askinging for it - why is buried in some obscure place - I've wasted an hour looking for where to do this... even the WIX help link seems to bring up 404 error page.
I want to give it 1 star - but that would be really unfair. But stupid and absurd UX is worse than lacking controls or features.
Wix Charged Me 19 Days Before My Subscription Expired, Then Refused a Refund After 6 Years as a Customer!
I have been a loyal Wix customer since 2020, and I am extremely disappointed with how this company handles its billing practices and treats long-term customers.
Here is exactly what happened:
On September 22, 2026, Wix charged my credit card $368.88 for an annual Premium Core plan renewal.
However, according to their own invoice (#1263577073), the subscription I was charged for covers October 11, 2026, through October 11, 2027.
That's right. Wix charged me 19 DAYS BEFORE my existing subscription even expired!
When I contacted Wix on October 12 to request a refund, I was told that my request had been denied because of their refund policy.
Here's what makes this situation so frustrating: I wasn't trying to get money back for a service I had already been using for months. I was trying to cancel a renewal that Wix had charged me for nearly three weeks before my previous subscription even ended.
I understand that companies have policies, and I'm not arguing that businesses shouldn't have them. My issue is with the practice of charging customers weeks before their subscription expires and then refusing to issue a refund when they request one.
Wix explained that they had sent a renewal notification and that I had agreed to their terms when signing up.
But does that automatically make this a fair way to treat customers?
After SIX YEARS of paying Wix, I would have expected at least some understanding, flexibility, or willingness to make an exception.
Instead, I received a flat denial.
As a small business owner, $368.88 is not a small amount of money. I no longer need this subscription, yet Wix is refusing to return the payment for an additional year of service.
To be clear, here are the facts:
- Customer since 2020.
- Charged on September 22, 2026.
- Subscription renewal period: October 11, 2026 – October 11, 2027.
- Total charged: $368.88, including tax.
- Refund requested on October 12, 2026.
- Refund denied.
Everything is documented in Wix's own invoice and customer service correspondence.
My warning to other small business owners: PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO WIX'S EARLY RENEWAL CHARGES.
Your card may be charged weeks before your current subscription expires, and requesting a refund afterward may leave you with no resolution.
After six years as a customer, I expected better.
I'm requesting that Wix reconsider its decision and issue a full refund of $368.88.
Six years of loyalty. An early renewal charge. A denied refund. And a company unwilling to make an exception.
Very disappointing experience.
ONE STAR.

If I could leave zero stars
If I could leave zero stars, I would.
My experience with Wix has been incredibly disappointing from start to finish. The website platform is difficult to use, and customer support has been unhelpful whenever I have tried to resolve issues.
I am an aesthetic practitioner offering appointments for treatments such as Botox, and after operating my website for months, Wix suddenly decided to shut it down because it allegedly did not meet their criteria. This was despite the site being active for an extended period.
To make matters worse, Wix has been holding over £700 of my money, and I have been waiting more than 60 days for the payout. Every time I contact customer service, it feels like I am starting the process all over again with someone new. Nobody seems to take ownership of the issue or provide any meaningful update.
AVOID WIX AT ALL COSTS

Excellent across the board
An excellent, very straightforward platform, super easy to update, and super dependable. Reasonable as well. Just a great choice.
Charged for a ‘free domain’
I started a 3yr website plan that included a free domain. I decided within the cancellation period that it wasn’t for me and successfully got a refund.
3 years later I was billed 30 days in advance for a 3 year paid renewal for the ‘free’ domain.
I contacted them before the renewal date through a dreadfully patronising and useless AI chatbot. Eventually leading to a special request refund form where I explained that I didn’t wish to renew and the date of renewal hadn’t passed, so I would like a refund for the money they took a month in advance.
The email response simply says:
Your refund request was denied.
No explanation, no personal consideration to the special request form or turning off auto renewal.
I consider this an especially devious technique to make money that is effectively theft.
Their customer service is terrible and their AI is frustrating.
