$300 in damages and they don't take responsibility for their work. They cross threaded my oil filter and damaged the threaded spindle. Blew oil all over the car. Didn't offer to pay for a wash and customer care says it's not their problem (local franchise manager's call). Now every time I get an oil change they can't get the filter to seal. They won't pay for repair of the damaged oil filter spindle because they didn't write shop notes when it happened (covered up the issue).

Two Oil Changes, Two Skid Plate Failures

I paid Valvoline to perform a professional oil change on my 2013 Ford Fusion on June 11 at its store at 603 West Fairmont Parkway. The fiber underbody splash shield (which Valvoline calls the "skid plate") must be removed to access the underside of the vehicle for an oil change. Valvoline removed and reinstalled it.
Approximately four months later, on October 3, I discovered the shield hanging underneath my vehicle. Fortunately, I noticed it before driving away and was able to remove it before it became a road hazard.
This was the second time this happened following a Valvoline oil change.
The first time, at Valvoline's 9050 Spencer location, the shield came loose while I was driving on the highway and was seriously damaged. It also damaged other components underneath my vehicle. Valvoline accepted responsibility, paid a Ford dealership to replace the damaged parts, and supplied a replacement splash shield.
It was that replacement shield that came loose this time.
When I removed it on October 3, only two screws remained attached, both near the front left corner. Neither was tight; I removed both by hand, without a screwdriver. The panel's eleven mounting holes remain intact and undamaged. The only damage to the panel is scraping from contact with the pavement.
I returned the panel and screws to the Fairmont store on October 4. The manager told me he had contacted his supervisor, who said Valvoline would do nothing because approximately four months had passed since the oil change.
What is troubling is that apparently no investigation went into that decision. No one asked how many miles I had driven, checked my odometer, or asked where or how I had driven the vehicle. I could have driven 10 miles or 10,000 miles. Valvoline never bothered to find out.
Nor did anyone examine the vehicle. The Fairmont store has a service bay that allows technicians to access the underside of a vehicle, but no one asked me to bring the Fusion into the bay. My Fusion rides quite low, and I could not reasonably inspect the attachment points myself without jacking up the car and crawling underneath it. When I returned, the store was not busy and the service bays were empty.
I had brought the panel with me, and its mounting holes were intact. The apparent problem was simply determining what fasteners were required and properly securing the panel.
There is also a larger safety issue. I brought my car to Valvoline for an oil change and trusted its technicians to properly reinstall everything they removed. A loose splash shield is an inconvenience and a potential road hazard. A failure to properly secure a component involved in an oil change could be much more serious. A loose oil drain plug or improperly secured oil filter could result in loss of engine oil and catastrophic engine damage.
Fortunately, this time I discovered the loose splash shield before it caused additional damage. I was not so fortunate the first time.
I am a senior citizen. I paid Valvoline for a professional service, and I should not have to jack up my vehicle and crawl underneath it to determine whether the components removed by the technician have actually been secured.
I am not asking Valvoline to replace an old, worn-out panel. This was a replacement panel supplied by Valvoline, and it appears to remain usable. I have the original service receipt, the panel, the two screws that remained attached, and photographs documenting its condition and mounting holes.
Ford parts information indicates that the splash shield is secured by eleven screws. When I discovered the panel, only two remained attached, neither properly tightened. The other nine were no longer securing the panel. In the first incident, the panel similarly came loose after Valvoline had reinstalled it.
Valvoline did not determine what happened. It simply decided that enough time had passed that it did not need to find out and denied all responsibility.

Damage Caused by Valvoline (IT DIDNT COME IN THIS WAY BUT THATS THE WAY ITS LEAVING)!!!

Today Saturday 9-26-26 at approximately 8:30am I went to Valvoline located at 4830 Kirkwood HWY Wilmington De 19808 302-487-0285 for an Oil Change & tire rotation. I have gone to this location for the last several years with multi vehicles my wife's 2019 MDX & my previous vehicle a 2014 Mercedes Benz. I entered the location with no issues with my 2023 Honda Accord. While doing my oil change my front undercarriage wind tray had to be removed to access the oil filter. While waiting in the car the female tech (name unknown) was nice and first stated "There is damage to your wind tray". I stated I don't know how I have hit or ran over anything. The female tech continued with her duties while other make techs completed oil and oil filter change along with tire rotation. Once this was done there were still having problems with the undercarriage wind tray. I stated I had no issues with the wind tray when I arrived but now, I'm being told bolts will not line up due to the tray damage. Eventually the techs say everything is good; I pay for the service and leave. A mile away the undercarriage falls down from under my car scrapping the ground. I pull over twice to push it back up before arriving back at the 4830 Kirkwood HWY Wilmington De 19808 302-487-0285 location. I explain what just happened and drive my 2023 Honda Accord back into the same bay. Now I'm being told it's not the tray but some plastic piece that's damage on one side, but both sides were hanging down when I had to push the wind tray back up and neither side was secured. A tech wearing an eye patch went under the car and did secure my wind tray with one bolt and a zip tie. MY CAR DID NOT ARRIVE THIS WAY AND THE LAST PEOPLE WHO SERVICED MY VEHICLE WAS THIS VALVOLINE LOCATION. I filed a complaint on 9-26-26 and received all call from Manager Guillermo and Service Rep on 9-26-26 at Approx. 11:00am. Claim denied fixing my car alleged camera footage. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VECHILE THEY DONT NOT HONOR DAMAGE THEY CAUSE!!

Valvoline on Commercial Drive in…Yorkville NY

Valvoline on Commercial Drive in Yorkville, New York is the place I take my vehicles because of their exceptional service. They’ve changed my wipers changed my oil adjusted a headlight and anything I need to get in and out with quality service at a very fair price. I can’t say enough about the efficiency, the professionalism from knowing your name, finding your address, scheduling the next appointment and in general, just taking care of your needs and then one of the most important investments that we use every day.

Warning, human trafficking at valvoline at the creekside in new braunfels

If it’s all possible, no stars. The one located at Creekside in New braunfels and the one by hunter and hwy 46 are horrible with any service they provide . The regular employees are nice, but the newly hired managers are unkind, controlling, weird and unhelpful. They want what they want to do with your vehicle and if you do not agree with what they will do with your car they give you a crazy and rude attitude then twists it by saying you as the customer are rude and black lists you to make sure you as a customer will not get any assistance.

If I am not wrong, I suspect sometime the last time I attempted to get an oil service there, the new manager was working with human sex traffickers and are placing trackers on vehicles of ladies they trip on .

I made a comment such as that and the next thing I know, I was being treated rudely, unkindly and discriminated . This is concerning - all ladies should know this .

Watch out !!!

Called corporate and asked to have assistance on this slander this location had done, the lady was argumentative lol . No one is professional !

I called ahead to make sure they had my oil filter and the oil I needed I was told they had 4 filters and the oil I head over the the shop in New Kensington PA and was told they didn't have the oil. "I believe they was trying to upsell me"so I left call called the same number and got some kind of bullshit that they aren't trained to work on my car so when I called before why wasn't I told that before your company wasted my time and gas with gas prices at a$4.59 a gallon I won't be returning with any of my cars.

I had an oil change performed at this…

I had an oil change performed at this Valvoline location at 16 Amity Rd, New Haven, CT on September 6, 2026 (Invoice #282179).
Shortly after leaving the shop, while I was driving, a panel/component underneath my 2019 Honda CR-V came loose and dropped down, forcing me to pull off the road. This was extremely concerning, especially because the issue occurred immediately after the oil change, which included replacement of the oil filter, and the affected area is underneath the vehicle near the area accessed during the service.
I have requested that Valvoline open a formal investigation, review the work performed on my vehicle, and preserve/review any available service-bay video from my visit.
I will update this review once Valvoline completes its investigation and responds regarding responsibility and reimbursement for the repair.
Very disappointing and concerning experience, particularly because the problem occurred shortly after the service.

Quickest / poorest service you can recieve

Last weekend I went in for an oil change to the Valvoline on Colerain. The guy named Gregory rushed and chrged me before the other guy finished my oil change, I asked him if they change the filter too, he said yea yea we change all of that for you. and proceeded to see me out, I said no one checked the filter, then they checked it. Even after all of that, no one reset the mileage, this was the worst experience Ive had... I wont go back, not even so they can fix it, they're lazy and expect quick money... I'm no guinea pig I'll over pay for my oil change before I go back there.

Luckily engine wasn’t damaged- was with Toyota

Used valvoline for oil change. Very courteous and prompt oil change. The issue- oil filter placement and tightening. Mid May engine performance and check engine. Was with Toyota 3 times. Collectively 8 &1/2 weeks. Engine codes indicated engine failure but why? pistons? timing chain? I even signed off for rebuild if necessary. Long story short- oil filter placement. Luckily all checked out with engine. I was out of vehicle and this was a costly nightmare…

ZERO Stars and let me explain why

ZERO Stars and let me explain why! On June 15, 2026 I drove to this location after work to receive an oil change. Following the oil change, I started to exit the driveway of Valvoline and upon pressing down on the acceleration, my dashboard immediately lit up and my car went into "limp" mode. I barely made it over across the three lanes into the turning lane, before my car completely died. I immediately called the Valvoline customer service number and explained to them that my Toyota Camry was perfectly fine prior to entering the bay at Valvoline before the oil change and now it is undrivable and will not turn on or accelerate. The first sentence out of the customer service representative's mouth was that "we are not liable for any vehicles after they leave the bay area at Valvoline." I had to physically leave my car in the turning lane and sprint across the three lane highway and to the store which 2 buildings down from where my car died. The manager yelled at me and told me he couldn't walk over to my car and look at it. I said, "well I just ran across three lanes of traffic to get to you?" He and his manager jumped in a truck and tested it and it came back with multiple codes including a P2119 for the throttle body. They claimed that they were not responsible and left my car dead in the road in the turning lane with my flashers on. My car was in the road for at least an hour and my phone died. After they left and I sat in the road for close to an hour, the store called the police on me and claimed that I was waving a gun in everyone's faces threatening to kill them. The office offered me a ride to a parking lot as Crow towing finally arrived to tow my car. My mother had to drive 45 minutes to come pick me up and the officer was the only person who offered me a ride. Valvoline left me on the side of the road and forced me to have my Camry towed to a mechanic and to take off work the following day. I work in home health and had to cancel 10 pediatric patients on Tuesday. The mechanic found a broke piece of something in my Mass Air Flow Sensor blocking my engine. I will add pictures of broken object found in the MAF, which caused my car to died and my dashboard to light up with various lights. Michael/Mike was the manager on the shift and he was the person communicating with me. I will be reaching out to an attorney regarding the situation. Valvoline has refused to pay for all of the expenses including the towing as of today.

Please, do not go to this location. I have spoken with multiple mechanics across East Texas regarding this situation and they all agree that Valvoline is at fault. I have begun to warn the families I work with to steer clear from this location. Valvoline does not care about the customer at the end of the day. They value profit over morals and integrity. The manager refused to return all calls regarding this situation and corporate office yelled at the mechanic who called and reported his findings from my car. This is another money hungry company, who doesn’t care about customers at the end of the day.

I visited 2 Valvoline locations during my recent travels to Utah. Both were great. Nice people working there and so helpful in every way. While the cost there for an oil change is a bit higher than going to Walmart, I appreciated the very personal way they took care of me.

NOT A TRUSTWORTHY COMPANY

I once thought this was a Trustworthy Company, being that I've brought my vehicles here for over a decade. Well that's not the case for this location. I went in for an oil change and had to get it towed out. They denied the damages although it was done at their location. Their so called Area Manager doesn't have the decency or professionalism to give their long time customer a call.

Don't make the same mistakes I made with trusting these 15 mins oil change locations.

Store located on Spring Green, Katy

Store located on Spring Green, Katy TX across from Kroger. Was first vehicle in line on already in the bay. Took them over 25 minutes to get that car done. Pulled into Bay #1. Attendant asked if I wanted synthetic blind or pure synthetic. Said full synthetic. He said I had been previously ordering synthetic blend. That’s not correct. Took them 32+ minutes to change the oil. Had it on stopwatch. They sprayed oil on windshield. Holt tried to clean. Holt gave me $20 for Mister Carwash. They charged me $185. Minus the $15 coupon $170. A barrel of oil cost $85. That’s 220 quarts. My truck takes 8 quarts of oil. They said they put 8.5 quarts. Better not have. Was not offered a paper receipt and did not get a receipt and did not get a reminder sticker for next oil change. Been getting my oil changed for over 55 years. It’s never been this bad. I will admit I told them I’m never coming back to this location. Whoever owns this store, you need a real manager.

Ruined our engine

Unfortunately, my partner took our car here to get the oil changed. The Valvoline employee left a cap off and our engine was completely ruined. Communication with Valvoline since then has been awful. Every time we call, we are told we need to talk to the "area manager" who refuses to even return our calls. I guess he can't be bothered. So they ruined our car, won't communicate with us and refuse to make this right. My partner missed 13 days of work due to this issue because he works with his car and this has put us in a terrible spot... Yet we don't even get a phone call. I would literally never recommend this company to anyone.

I have been going to VIOC for over 30 years.
On 6/11/2026 | took my car in. The tech underneath took the splash guard 1/2 way off. It doesn't need to be touched for an oil change. He didn't inform anyone. As I drove away it was banging the undercarriage. I went back and they wire tied it up. I made a claim( CS3163742) | received a few emails telling me to call them. Besides the standard emails they have made zero effort to follow up on a 30+ year customer. Very Disappointed.
