These people are horrific. I had requested that they update my address when I was in the process of moving, which, I later found out they never did, and then sent the final bill/statement to my old address and then attempted to send it to collections when I never even got a chance to pay it. What they're doing is both unethical and should be illegal. Please do not move to an area run by PGE.

PGE is the most corrupt…

PGE is the most corrupt organization/corporation .in this country. They don’t value the lives of those they are responsible of killing. They dug up my sidewalk and driveway 3 times. They hire incompetent people.
They could not even fix a gas leak correctly.
I filed a claim for lost wages because they dug up my driveway in the middle of the night. Kept us up all night. They refused to compensate my self employment wages.
I was a wreck. They destroyed my driveway and did not restore it properly . They should be out of business.
The claims department is rude and lie to you. The worst ever.

This is the third day in a row we have lost power. I have a very important VA service connection teleconference today I won’t be able to connect to because of PG&E. Now I have to wait eight to twelve months to reschedule. This is completely unacceptable and PG&E’s incompetence and failure to repair in a timely manner should be criminal.

Rude and disrespectful field crew

We've had the power out for more than 5 hrs. The crew that was sent out was rude and disrespectful to us and the other residences affected. He left without doing the work leaving the job for another crew to take care of. The truck that came out on July 15, at 11p has the license plate of CA # 44531Y3. One family has a man on oxygen and the two men had rude comments and said they can't help the situation and the family should hope for the best. What kind of staff does PGE hire?! Rude and crude heartless individuals. They left us to suffer in over 105 degree heat.

Gross incompetence and dysfunctionality

If we still had asylums for the mentally deranged I would believe that PG&E hired people from there to redesign their website and create a POS of a totally dysfunctional so-called website!

In the German language there is the best word concoction for it: "Verschlimmbessern",
"To make something worse in an attempt to improve it"

earlier this year I gave up and called him and insisted I want to have a paper copy mailed again as most of the time that was not possible to even get that simple fact, viewing my bill online, right.

Now since May I can no longer login because of a "security issue". No it's not a login error, it's even dumber than that!

in our verification crazed age the site recognizes my account and then sends me a 6 digit security code.
pick one of the last 4 I tried, I enter it 311582 as shown on my mobile phone and click on confirm.

Then I get equivalent of a 3-year-old red text sentence:
Something went wrong, please try again later.

Since May 2026... truly dumber than dumb!

PSPS's

I have lived all over t he US dealing with many utility companies in the past 40 years. PG&E is by far the worst when it comes to power outages. If I were to add up all the times my power went out with all companies combined in that time, would still be less than 1 year with PG&E. With the billions in annual profit it would seem like they can afford to maintain & update their infrastructure to keep power on instead of shutting it down because of a breeze. Now we have to deal with collective punishment due to their negligence regarding Paradise burning down due to their failure of replacing an 85 year old rusty hook and getting sued in the process. Instead they would rather pay their shareholders. If corporations are people as the Supreme Court says, then they should face the same consequences I would face if I were to set someone's house on fire killing everyone inside, especially if I was on probation. Jailing the CEO's & board of directors while seizing their assets might get the message across. Break up the monopoly they hold over the state & start jailing the CPUC & other politicians for taking bribes. Maybe then we'll see some changes. If we have to deal with half a dozen power shut offs a year due to windy days, they should provide us generators at their expense.

This morning at around 1am was the last…

This morning at around 1am was the last resort of this awful company. Never have I post a review on my over 6 decades in this lifetime. I’m a good paying customer for the last 4 decades on this company but for the last 10 years this company has been totally going downhill. How in the world we have so many lost power even in a perfect day without any storms? Even the third world countries seldom has this kind of occurrence. What an embarrassment for a company like this. I was baking several cakes last night and early morning at around 1am without any notice, the weather was lovely, the night was perfect and boom we had power outage that lasted for almost an hour in Aptos,Ca area. This happened a lot and it’s totally unacceptable, every time this happened our printer doesn’t work and several times our washing machine doesn’t work either, I should bill PG&E for the high cost of the repair. PG&E you charge so much at least do your job. Have some credibility and reliability that we need. Do a better job!!

They left an old defunct piece of equipment outside my home, and it took 8 months of calling and people losing my case information to finally get someone to get it removed. Literally countless hours on the phone for me to fix their mistake.

The PG&E website is trash

The PG&E website is trash. It takes a very long time to get an authorization code. The website is awful and a complete redesign is badly needed. Add to that the fact that it's power prices are an expensive joke. It is by far, the worst utility in the nation.

Our PGE bill is for 3br 2bath home and…

Our PGE bill for a 3br 2bath home and were only using electricity is upward $750 a month. If it was not for Care we'd be paying that in full. The deduction changes every month. The due date for their bill changes ever month. Our income is once a month on the 3rd. We have repeatedly asked PGE to change our due date to after the 4th, and they have refused. They claim our cycle is based on where you live 🤨🤣🤣. The problem is that PGE is too big. Although having another company they would probably do the same.

Our bill had a arrearange of $1300. We went to Liheap for help. They gave us $1000 towards our bill. PGE had the funds, however they posted it after we had made a payment. Instead of using that money to pay off the arrearange they used it to pay current bills. This left the arrears open still "ARE YOU KIDDING ME" .Yeah how crooked is that. So now I had to get on a payment plan for the arrears I'm back were I started pretty tricky. That just ain't right that they can do this🤬.
Have you ever wondered why the PUC always approves rate increases one after another. 🥾 Kickbacks..."Shouldn't the word "PUBLIC" pertain to helping customers what else could it be. The public is only keeping upper
management and board members in million dollar homes. In addition to putting their children through college.
This country is all about money, and your only known by your account number otherwise move along.

During a snow storm with no wind my power got interupted 4 times. It also was off for almost a day and half.
They appear to be good at charging more money. But having reliable service is the a huge problem. The day the storm was over my power got shut off again. Seems like they want to break computers.

The greedest company ever seen

recently moved to California, and this is my first direct experience as a customer of PG&E. Unfortunately, it confirms much of what I had previously heard from professionals who have worked with the company.

PG&E has a reputation for aggressively resisting innovations that could reduce its workforce and lower energy costs. Instead, the company appears to focus on extracting higher revenue from customers by imposing a growing number of complex fees, manipulating hourly rates, and changing those rates on a daily basis throughout the year.

I have a strong background in mathematics, yet I am still unable to independently verify the correctness of my electricity bill. I am not referring here to the fairness of the charges themselves—those can be questioned by comparing PG&E’s rates with other energy providers—but to the basic transparency and verifiability of the billing process.

The NEM 3.0 rules promoted by PG&E further shift the benefits of solar panel installations away from homeowners and toward the utility itself. For example, when solar-generated electricity is used to charge an electric vehicle, rates are adjusted in ways that increase costs to the customer, effectively creating additional charges without corresponding value.

In my opinion, PG&E’s business practices warrant a thorough audit. Moreover, restructuring or splitting the company could lead to increased competition and, ultimately, better outcomes for customers.

Corrupt extortionists

It's more expensive to use my stove than it is to eat out. It's more expensive to take a hot shower than it is to pay for a gym membership and take showers there. If I keep my house at 65 degrees in the winter (in Chico), the gas alone is $500 for a 1000 sq ft house. I don't use the heat at all unless my kids are here, which is the only way I can keep it comfortable for them without the bill being a $1000 a month. The amount of gas I am allotted per day without going into a more expensive tier does not allow me to heat the house at all. This evil and corrupt company should not be allowed to exist. I pray their board members and executives spend eternity in hell.

PGE human custom service reps have…

PGE human customer service reps have GREATLY improved over the past couple of years. They're very polite & helpful in making pymt arraignments. I received a text message today stating my "your usage was projected higher than normal", thus resulting in a much higher bill. Of course my usage was higher because of temps in the 30s & 40s. I'm near 70 years old, live alone in an apt that's freezing & drafty in the Winter & hotter than the gates of you know where in the Summer. I know there are people who struggle more than I& I worry for them. Being on a SS fixed income leaves little room for heating. CARE, while appreciated, only knocks less than $7 off. Please help. I am cold and sad for the state of our beautiful country. I wish you all a safe & peaceful New Year.

Very forgiving

I got a new credit card 5 months ago and my auto payments had not been going through. They kept providing service and called about financial assistance programs. I had no idea we weren't making payments and am so grateful to this company for being so forgiving with us.

PGE has always for me been great when…

PGE has always for me been great when you need them to come out and check on a gas leak or relight a pilot. My complaint is with their updated website. I have two accounts and for both I had them scheduled but one never went through and I receive a threatening notice of having my gas and electric shut off. Turns out when their IT people updated their website they inadvertently added another payment account besides my checking account. Apparently that other mysterious account had insufficient funds so my schedule payment was refused. How that payment account ever got associated with my payment account, I'll never know but I deleted it and have gone back to paper bills for now. Perhaps in six months I will again sign up electronically but for now I don't trust PGE's new payment system.
