I would rather live in the dark.
I wish there were an option for zero stars.
My experience with Entergy has been absolutely unacceptable. Two years after selling my home and moving out, I was contacted by a collection agency regarding an alleged Entergy balance. The bill in question was dated a full month after I no longer owned or occupied the property. I had paid all of my utility expenses and taken care of my account before moving.
What makes this even more unacceptable is that Entergy never contacted me about an outstanding balance. No bill. No phone call. No letter. No warning. Nothing. Instead, they apparently allowed the issue to sit for TWO YEARS and then sent it straight to collections.
When I contacted Entergy to explain the situation, including the fact that the charge was dated after I had already sold the house, I was told there was nothing they could do. There was no meaningful attempt to investigate the discrepancy, no accountability, and no willingness to help resolve the situation.
How is it reasonable for a company to wait two years to notify a former customer of an alleged debt—especially when the charge is dated after that customer no longer owned the property—and then send it to collections without ever providing notice?
This experience has completely destroyed my confidence in Entergy's billing practices and customer service. Customers should not have to discover alleged balances through collection agencies years after closing an account.
If you have ANY other option for your utility provider, I would strongly recommend considering it. And if you do use Entergy, document everything, keep every bill, and keep proof that your account was paid and closed. Based on my experience, you may need it.
I’ve been battling with agents on…
I’ve been battling with agents on fixing my street light in my subdivision, and I always get the runaround. This has been for 6 months.I got tired and stopped, but something said call back and try again because this light lights up our neighborhood, and without it, it’s pitch black. But I got the best customer service representative here. Her name is Elizabeth Coleman for the Jackson Ms area, and she went over and beyond to help me and explain things and notated my account. If Entergy still doesn’t come out,at least she did everything to help me, and that’s customer service. Thank you, mam. I hope this finds you.
Entergy workers rock!
Entergy workers rock!! They QUICKLY got our power back to several areas in Jefferson County, TX after TS Edouard on 9/1. And that was with having to reset poles and removing large trees! They are still working nonstop to get everyone back in service. THANK YOU for what you do!! Also want to say communication all along the way was excellent!! Love the texts and email notifications.
If moving check the zip code.
If moving check the zip code to insure that Entergy is not the only electric service provider. They have a monopoly in some areas in Texas and basically charge whatever they want for power. I pay 30% more than others in a 50 mile radius and there is nothing I can do about it since Entergy has a monopoly in my service area.
Worst customer service ever and they…
Worst customer service ever and they dont care about their customers at all!!!All the money we work hard for and give to them ..they dont care because were forced to pay them because their our only utility company. The customer service is just horrific
I gave this company five years before writing this review
I gave this company five years before writing this review. If you are a real estate agent selling a house in their areas, (whether in Texas or Arkansas), you might want to tell your new buyers to have back-up power or their lives will be disrupted. It's not a good selling point but it is an honest assessment.
I have worked with power company in Oregon. They controlled vast areas including most of Oregon, SW Washington, part of Idaho, vast area of Utah, and small area of Montana. The only time you hear about power outage, storms (major storms) through the western states. I have been with them longer than I live in Entergy territory and we never have these freak outages. I don't even program my clock any more because every week, without fail, they would blink out.
Truth is, I have lived in many areas including so called third world countries including Peru, Morocco, Egypt, Vietnam...etc just to name a few. I have never seen worse power company than this one unless you want to compare them to Vietnam under communist regime where they turned off your power every week due to supply chain problem.
They make enough money to send out a service technician without your permission to swap out your legacy meter for a smart meter 5 times at my location. The smart technician refused after couple of times. He is one smart dude.
FERC should really look at this company and see what they do. If not FERC, DOGE should look at their books and see what they are using the money for instead of serving their customers? Trafficking pizzas or sending their CEO to some exclusive Caribbean Island?
Their name should be Duntergy, not Entergy. Maybe they burned duns to produce power for you like some Tibetians.
Over priced electricy/bad service
Over priced electricy; every time a lil weather moves in electricity goes out . I dislike the company very much!
Why is there ALWAYS power outages!!
Why is there ALWAYS power outages!!! Like why do I have to pay so much for electricity when it shuts off at least once a week???
If I could give negative stars
If I could give negative stars, I would. I have been back and forth with them trying to start service in my home. They have been giving me the run around for 5 days. I called to ensure my power would be turned on before I set up my home internet and alarm system and I still do not have power. I had to move into my new home with no power. According to customer support, they can do turn on my power remotely. So why am I still out of power. I have to reschedule everything and there is still no guarantee that I will have power by tomorrow. Absolutely ridiculous.
Highly dissatisfied
First and foremost, I have never been treated like what Entergy treated me ever in my life. If I could have left no stars I would have. Back on 2/2/26 I made an agreement, since I was having difficult time paying my light bill due to unemployment. Agreement was for 4 months I would pay certain amount plus my monthly bill starting on 3/16/26. Since 2/2/26 I made 3 payments, which my last payment on 3/6/26 was even over the amount that was past due. On 3/10/26 at 1pm Entergy disconnected my lights. REALLY?. After several calls, one w manager Kristine, who pretty much acted treated me like she had better things to do. She told me on 2/8/26 Entergy cancelled the agreement, I asked her why, she told me bc I was behind on my bill.. REALLY?. That's the reason we made the agreement, Entergy approved it. Needlesstosay, I'm still pretty pissed. Disrespected to say the least.
Awful horrid company
Awful horrid company. After meeting one of the families of an engineer fo Entergy. They are just as vile. Greedy thieves. Power can be off for months. They don’t take one cent off. Tell you a time it’s going to be back on, days later. They claim to do all this bs for the community while actual customers are mistreated
Because I can't give 0 stars
Because I can't give 0 stars. I love in a 790sqft duplex and you charge me almost 300$ a month in electricity!!! I am PRAYING YOU GO OUT OF BUSINESS. You are terrible for the Arkansas people!!!
They are racist thieves they are morons…
They are racist thieves they are morons literally with no comprehension non what so ever they need to be shut down I’m currently suing them and they are under investigation and I also let my millions of followers on social media that loves me not to deal with them we need another light company Entergy is trash poor customer service poor service period need to be shut down completely
This company services places where they…
This company services places where they are the only providers in that region and then there inflated prices depend how they want. The sad part is that we can't change to another company since they are the only one there. They are a bunch of crook's.
Horrible service
This company Xylem Tree Service, contractors for Entergy, trims trees in my area of Springhill, LA. They showed up unannounced, with no notice whatsoever, and parked in my driveway, completely blocking it. They started hacking at my 80-year-old live oaks, cutting limbs beyond the 15-foot easements and butchering the trees. Then they left, leaving the limbs everywhere, after I asked why they were cutting past the 15 feet. That was last week.
They showed back up this week, apparently to finish cutting for firewood. Once again, they completely blocked the driveway. Then they had to move to claim their next victims. They drove in my yard, rutting it up, driving over the waterline, and over the fairly new field lines for the septic system. When I confronted them about it, they packed up and left, still leaving all the limbs. They should have been in the road, not my front yard.
I don't care what permits or equipment you need to do the job, but you shouldn't be tearing up people's property. 10 out of 10, I do not recommend, UNLESS YOU NEED FIREWOOD!
Worst customer service ever
Worst customer service ever, they cant even read there own bill and i got over charged double charged for two months
God awful
God awful. They have a monopoly,so there's zero effort to anything resembling customer service. Our initial deposit was waived due to us getting a letter of good standing from our previous utility provider and then we'd be billed for it. They'd "fix" the problem 3-4 times and we'd again be billed for it. The CSRs or customer service agents or whatever apparently couldn't communicate directly with their billing department. Wild, silly, and pathetic bureaucratic bs. They take over an hour to examine why whole blocks of people have no power. Ever increasing rates. Difficult to speak with a human after hours.
Entergy's Bad Service
Energy showed up today to "pull maintenance" on a power poll. With no notice or a knock on the door they simply parked in my driveway cut power 4 houses. When I asked about what was going on and how long, I got nothing but rude attitude. When I asked to speak to the job supervisor, I was told there was none. What B.S.
UPDATE February 2025
UPDATE February 2025
I am updating today to mention that the issue with the employee was never resolved. I never received any contact from his manager like Entergy claimed would happen.
Additionally, today, an Entergy employee came to my home and nobody else's on the street claiming they were "conducting a test" on our meter. By testing it, they cut off the power for a short period of time without any notice or warning. We have medical needs that require electricity and for them to do this for absolutely no reason is absolute bull. In all the years I lived at my house, this was NEVER done. Additionally, this was done exclusively to my home and no one else's on my street. I'm wondering if this is retaliatory behavior because it sure seems that way? I'm keeping everything noted and documented should I need to take legal action at this point.
-------------ORIGINAL REVIEW---------------
On November 5, 2024, roughly around 11:20-11:30am, Entergy employee Johnson in truck #10027 came to my house. I was in the restroom at the time and didn't open the door immediately. Once I opened the door I saw him by my meter and I immediately asked him what he was doing. He immediately started questioning me about "Didn't you see me knocking on your door?" (in reference to my security cameras) and having a snarky attitude. I told him we had opted out of the new meters YEARS ago when they were first being introduced. Which we did.
He began speaking to me in a nasty condescending tone talking about no I didn't because he'd have a paper and essentially calling me a liar. I told him everything was online at that point and I had even received a confirmation paper in the mail about being opted out of the new meters, again, years ago when these were brand new. He called me a liar and said if I had one show it to him and he would apologize but I couldn't because it's not true.
He then started threatening to put the new meter in and said what would I do about it. That because he doesn't have the paper he was going to put it in and that was my problem, not his. I started recording him and told him don't change my meter or I will take legal action because I had already opted out. He said he didn't care that that was Entergy's problem, not his. That it wouldn't affect him either way. He continued to talk in a nasty condescending tone being argumentative.
At one point he offered to get the paper, but was essentially taunting me about giving it to me saying I needed to ASK for it. Totally talking down to me like I was at his mercy to NOT get the meter replaced and it was ALL HIS DECISION at that point. He seemed to enjoy talking down to a female. I'm not sure if it's because of my skin tone or because I am female, or both, but the way he behaved was NOT professional in the least bit. I felt threatened and uncomfortable on my own property because of him.
Eventually, he did get the paper for me to opt out of, while continuing to talk down to me. I filled it out and gave it back as he stood at his truck with his arms folded and staring me down the whole time in a threatening (feeling) tone. He said I needed to fill out the top part and added that he normally does it himself but I had to do it on my own. He continued being degrading with his words and tone as he got in his truck and sat there watching my house before eventually leaving. If this man represents Entergy then clearly I know I cannot feel safe with their employees. I have since submitted a report to Entergy and am fully prepared to go to the news and social media if Entergy doesn't take action on this employee. I also don't trust that he will actually put it into the system and may use my personal information however he chooses simply based on his behavior. So if anything happens, I fully blame Entergy and am documenting everything should I need it in the future.
