UNACCEPTABLE — App broken for 8 months, false penalty, 7 payment attempts at 4 AM
I have been using this service fine for a long time, but for at least the past 8 months, the app has been constantly crashing, freezing, and logging me out. Before that, everything worked perfectly.
Despite knowing about these ongoing technical issues on your end, you applied a £25 penalty with no explanation whatsoever. I have NEVER parked incorrectly or left a scooter abandoned — I always leave it properly at all the designated parking zones, every single time. There is zero justification for this fine.
What makes it worse: you attempted to take this unauthorised payment 7 times in one day — at 4 in the morning! I never set up or authorised any direct debit. It feels like you're just trying to take money however you can.
I already purchased 700 minutes and you've blocked my account until I pay. This is my only way to get around. I've done nothing wrong, yet I'm the one being punished. This is dishonest, unfair, and unacceptable. Avoid at all costs.
The worst of the e-bike companies in London
The worst of the e-bike companies in London. Their fee structure coupled with a low-functionality app and unreachable customer service collectively amount to extortion. Poor coverage across the city, on top.

I’d just signed up and have had the worst experience possible. I signed up for a plan and then started my first ride. But turns out the plan did not get registered. And they charged me 50 Swiss francs for my first ride that lasted one hour. I have been trying to get it resolved with their customer service , who are sitting in some other part of the world. And are totally useless. I’ve waisted hours trying to get it resolved. To no use!!!

Scam
Absolutely ridiculous service. I wasted about 5 minutes looking for a parking spot while the bike was happily charging me the entire time. I was literally standing next to other parked bikes, but apparently I still couldn’t end my ride.
I had to waste even more time contacting customer support through the chat just to stop the bloody ride.
What’s the point of an e-bike service that’s supposed to get you somewhere quickly and conveniently if you then have to drive around like an idiot looking for somewhere you’re actually allowed to park?
VOI needs to seriously sort this out. You’re charging people for the time you force them to waste. That’s not convenience, that’s a joke.

Horrible wanted to go to my house to find out it was in a no go zone had to go back to where I started huge waste of time it didn’t even lock up
Wtf was that?
Wtf was that?! Payment UI crashed. Maps don't navigate so I can't see the route or places to park nor any riding zones. My destination didn't have any parking nearby & apparently was a no riding zone on an incline as well as it costing thrice as much as other forms of transport. Terrible.
Too many issues that and really bad customer service
I had so many issues with Voi. I had trouble parking the bike, and even after parking it, the ride wouldn’t end. It took forever before I finally managed to end the trip.
On top of that, when I tried to purchase ONE pass, Voi somehow registered TWO passes, and apparently both were activated at the same time. I still don’t understand how that’s even possible when I only intended to buy one.
Customer service was no help at all and refused to refund the extra pass because both passes had supposedly been “used” — even though they were activated at the exact same time due to issues with the app.
Honestly, avoid Voi. I’d recommend Lime or Bolt instead. I’ve had much better experiences with their customer service, and they actually seem interested in finding a solution when something goes wrong.
Broken bikes mostly
Broken bikes mostly. But getting charged for a broken bike, and complaints being ignored, is what really makes me give Voi an one star review. Avoid.
Your drivers are terrible
Teach your drivers how to drive! Undertook me (which is illegal) using bus lane and then got his arm through the window! After that stopped on double yellows and parked on a pavement.
Nice bikes
Nice bikes, essy to ride but I have used twice and both times I could not find a parking bay and ended up paying double which is very frustrating and makes me weary about future used until more parking spaces are added and the boundaries are increased.
Warning ⚠️ Do Not Use (Vio E-Scotter) if you want to be alive.
Warning ⚠️ Do Not Use Vio E-Scotter
Absolutely appalling experience with Voi.
I had to change scooters three times because every single one had a serious fault.
The first scooter was accelerating by itself.
The second had an accelerator button that kept getting stuck.
The third scooter was braking by itself.
These aren't minor inconveniences. These are serious safety issues. An e-scooter accelerating without warning or braking unexpectedly could genuinely put someone in danger.
I contacted Voi support expecting them to take the situation seriously. Their response, essentially, was:
"Sorry for the inconvenience. As a goodwill gesture, we'll offer you £1.60, which you'll receive within 5–10 working days. Have a great day. Bye."
£1.60.
After having to deal with three faulty scooters in a row, including scooters that were accelerating and braking unexpectedly, this was apparently what Voi considered an appropriate response.
The complete lack of concern about the safety aspect is honestly more disappointing than the £1.60 itself.
If a scooter is accelerating by itself, has a stuck accelerator, or is braking by itself, it should not be on the road in the first place.
Voi needs to seriously improve both its scooter safety checks and customer support. I certainly won't be trusting a Voi scooter again after this experience.
Three scooters. Three serious faults. £1.60 compensation. Absolutely unacceptable.
Utter waste of time
Utter waste of time - opposite of accessible . Have to use set parking spots miles from anywhere . Expensive too . Do yourself a favour and use a different one . Never again
Horrendous and Expensive
It cost me £3.80 from my house to my local train station. The bus costs £2.50. It took me 6 attempts to try and park the scooter legally before the app finally accepted the location l parked in. During this time l was constantly being charged. Having parked the scooter legally I ended up having to walk several minutes back to the train station.. passing the bus stop where l would normally get off for the train station. I have had it with these scrupulous rip off commercial companies. I just deleted my voi account. To hell with them and l pray they go into administration very soon.
Wish l could give 0 stars.
Outrageous and unacceptable customer service: account blocked without justification
My account was blocked due to a system issue, which prevented me from purchasing a PASS. When I contacted customer support, they refused to explain why my account had been blocked and offered no assistance to resolve the issue.
Instead, I was simply told that my account would be permanently blocked, without any explanation or opportunity to fix the situation. I was expecting a clear explanation of the reason for the block and a fair opportunity to resolve the issue.
This is completely unacceptable and outrageous. I find it extremely disappointing that a customer can be treated this way, with no transparency, no meaningful support, and no opportunity to resolve what appears to be a system-related problem.
This has been a very poor customer support experience and, more importantly, a very poor example of customer treatment.
Beware
Beware - the app charged me double after tricking me in to purchasing voi plus for £2.99 I complained but nobody got back to me yet
Absolute joke of a company and uk laws…
Absolute joke of a company and uk laws letting companies like this exist with no insurance needed. A man intoxicated riding one of these bikes crashed into my parked car and hut several others in the street and its now us out of pocket as the rider is meant to have there own insurance
They launched too early - need to be taken out of the market
They launched too early. They are not ready to be operating in London. Where is the vehicle authority? Where are the local councils in London? They need to ban this company. No parking, bikes unsafe, and zero customer service.
