MEGABUS CANADA: AVOID AT ALL COSTS! An absolute disgrace and the worst travel experience of my life. Unjustified bus changes, a two-hour breakdown stranded on the highway, passengers abandoned, cancellations sent only by email with zero phone alerts, foul toilet odors, dishonest customer service, and no refund. Everything is documented, stay away!
For those who want the full details of this nightmare (September 12th):
• The Outbound Trip (Niagara Falls): Even before departure, they switched our original bus to a decrepit, run-down bus, which cancelled our seat reservations. This second bus broke down, leaving us stranded for two hours right in the middle of the highway just as darkness was starting to fall. Only a fraction of the passengers managed to board a second, already-overcrowded bus; the rest were abandoned on the highway near the woods.
• Sleepless Night & Out-of-Pocket Expenses: Dropped off in Toronto instead of our actual destination (Niagara Falls), the counter agent coldly told us we had to book with another company (FlixBus) at our own expense. We finally reached our hotel at 3:00 AM, completely ruining our night visit and losing a night of sleep. Fortunately, our hotel had a 24-hour check-in; otherwise, we would have been locked out.
• The Return Trip (Montreal), Heating, & Foul Odors: Our return trip was cancelled without any phone call or text notification, sent only via email (which I fortunately caught by pure luck). I had to buy last-minute tickets, losing our reserved seats yet again. The entire trip smelled like an unbearable, foul toilet. To make matters worse, the heating was blasting in the middle of summer alongside the A/C! The first driver rudely refused to turn it off. When we reached the driver-switch station, the station supervisor categorically refused to do anything to help. Fortunately, the second driver was professional and finally turned off the heat.
• Rip-off & Odious Customer Service: They refuse to refund the FlixBus ticket and have only returned $27 out of the $50 we paid for the lost seat reservations (round trip).
Outcome: I have filed an official dispute with my bank for a chargeback, backed by full written documentation and chat history. Never plan an important trip with this company
I have been sitting on a bus from 13.30 that is supposed to be at airport at 16.30. It is 22:30 and we are still not at the airport because of some accident. I have a headache, without water and food and absolutely lost my patience. The drivers are absolutely useless they cannot even let you know when we are supposed to get to the airport or the city.

Megabus is a good service. Clean buses. Generally on time and useful to be able to track them. Darren is always cheerful and entertaining, which actually makes you listen to the announcements. Some of the phone charging points are broken

Caught the 9:40 bus from Bristol on the10th October. The driver was exceptionally helpful and friendly and the added sense of humor made for an overall relaxed and happy journey. Hassle free and reliable - we will definitely use the service again.

Fine for booking but would make more sense if I could access my QR code/ticket from the Megabus app

Megabus run a bus service from Plymouth to Bristol, past my home. One may book a ticket in advance between prescribed stops. However there are many stops in between the prescribed stops at which drivers are not obliged to accept passengers. I imagine this is at drivers discretion and possibly due to bus loading.
If , for some reason, one cannot get to a prescribed stops, this severely limits the dependability of a ticket. If for example , it is needed to get to a hospital appointment, it can’t be relied upon.
I have had this issue recently and corresponded with their customer experience team explaining the issue. They dealt with all my queries efficiently and politely, clarifying important issues about the ability of drivers to decline passengers ( very necessary). That seemed to be the end of discussion between us, until today I received a message to the effect that my village had now become a designated stop, so they had clearly read and understood my particular issues and now enabled me any my village to access the bus without taking a four mile journey north or a six mile journey south in order to catch the bus.
To say that this was a surprise is understating it. Now somewhat used to the intransigence of large organisations, my expectations were nil but I’m very much cheered that someone does listen.
I’m sure my village will appreciate the new flexibility.
Thank you Megabus!

Good service at Bristol airport. Bus was available even with a delay in our return flight. Thank you.

I’ve used the Megabus Falcon service from Exeter to Bristol Airport several times now and it’s always been excellent. Extremely worth the value rather than paying for parking at Bristol Airport. It takes the stress out of driving and parking too.
I wanted to write a review today as I’m sat on the bus going home, as our driver was the same driver who took us up at the start of the holiday. By far the best driver and we loved his funny commentaries and he was so pleasant and nice! Thanks Darren!
Travelled 30/09/26 on the 8.26 bus leaving Exeter and returning on 05/10/26 on the 16.15 bus leaving Bristol Airport.
Thanks Darren! 🤩

I would like to say a big thank you to the excellent driver Darren who drove us from Exeter to Bristol airport on Friday 2 October and back again on Sunday 4 October. He brought humour and kindness to his safety and facilities speech in a way that was both impressive and much appreciated by many. He got a round of applause from other passengers on the 4th October, and I’ve never seen that before! Thanks Darren you really made my day. Both of them! Good driving too! :)

BIG THANK YOU TO OUR MEGABUS (FALCON) DRIVER - PHIL WINTERS.
My husband and I took the 18:15 Falcon/Megabus back from Bristol airport to Exeter Honiton Park & Ride, on Tuesday the 29th September. The driver was exceptional, professional, polite, courteous and genuinely very happy to serve.
He took our very heavy suitcase (32 kilos) and lifted it into the bus luggage compartment, and he was very happy to do so. This was greatly appreciated - especially as my husband has a bad back. I asked his name as I wanted to get home and write a review for him.
This service needs commending, and Phil deserves high praise for being such a happy-go-lucky, very likeable driver! It's not always easy and some drivers aren't always so willing, this one was!!
Thank you, Phil 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
The Falcon/Megabus is always a flawless experience, and in this case, superb!

Always great service. Any delays are out of their control. Allow sufficient time to arrive at the airport.

Ad experience .
Had to sit on bus for 50 mins whilst driver tried to deal with the high volume of passengers , many of which were booked on the next bus, but opted to try travelling on earlier bus.
Hot and uncomfortable until a complaint and eventually the air was switched back on .
As we approached Exeter , the later bus was directly behind us with very few passengers.
Why ! Take passengers booked on a later bus and delay the earlier bus by approximately hour when the following bus follows the route with no or few passengers .

The bus was 30 minutes late coming into Exeter and then it broke down at Taunton the bus driver showed no empathy and was saying she would be glad when her shift ends at 9am - no communication from the bus driver as was waiting around for half an hour until she said we weren’t going anywhere-had to catch a taxi to the airport from there and just made check in.. thank god for the taxi driver. I have given 2 stars as the return journey went without any problems

My bus was cancelled last minute and I had bought a ticket through a third-party. At the bus counter they weren't able to get me on the next bus for free since i had two valid tickets for the cancelled bus operated by them. They should have a better cooperation with their booking systems and partners. Eventually, I had to pay 180 CAD to get from Toronto to Montreal, even though I had booked the tickets a month in advance...very frustrating. Also nobody seems to be responsible for covering the cost which is outrageous. Megabus also cancelled the bus without giving any explanation which makes them responsible in my opinion. They should ensure that passengers with valid tickets reach their destiantion without extra cost. I want my money back.
