An absolute joke of a company to deal…

An absolute joke of a company to deal with. Honestly, I have never experienced the likes of this in my life. I have been trying to make a purchase on my account for the last 4 days and have had nothing but problems and error messages saying the seller won’t ship to the international address. I have double checked with the seller and they have shown me they have approved international shipping and I said I am happy to cover the costs of shipping. Yet when I go to checkout I repeatedly get the same error message. Had an ‘ agent ‘ call me this evening to try to resolve the issue and they had not got a clue what they were talking about. They insisted the problem is on the sellers side and when the seller contacts them they insist the problem is on my side. MAKE UP YOUR MIND PLEASE! No idea why eBay insist on making these things so difficult for their customers but I have had enough and will be deleting my account. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!

eBay’s cancellation policy is stuck in 2004 — a complete failure of basic consumer protection.

It is completely unacceptable that on eBay UK, a buyer cannot definitively cancel an order that has not been shipped and does not even have a postage label generated.

If you make an honest mistake or spot an issue immediately after clicking buy, eBay does not cancel the transaction. Instead, they leave you at the complete mercy of the seller by framing your cancellation as a polite "request" that the seller can casually decline or ignore. What other major e-commerce platform forces a buyer to wait three days while their money is held hostage on an item that hasn't even moved?

To make matters worse, eBay pushes automated services like Simple Delivery where no postage has even been paid or printed yet, yet the system still won't let the customer hit 'cancel' and get an instant refund. It creates pointless logistics nightmares: sellers dispatching items nobody wants, and buyers forced through the tedious friction of receiving a parcel just to open an "Item Not as Described" return case.

eBay charges premium buyer protection and seller fees, but can't be bothered to implement a basic, automated 30-minute cancellation window like every other modern online retailer on the planet. Outdated, frustrating, and anti-consumer.

shocking

absolutely shocking, they force you to use simple delivery forcing you to buy royal mail label though them, force you to list with click and collect option, they never send label info to royal mail so postie always turns up without labels, chaos.

Not a great platform for selling

Not a great platform for selling. I've had over 100 listings for a year and have sold only half. That's one per week, often less than £10.
Also they want me to promote my listings, but when I do I still don't get sales.
And when I promote my listings, I log in on my other account to check them and still can't see them after scrolling over 100 other sellers.
My stuff is pretty unique, so the issue is Ebay simply not doing what they promise.
I have no problem selling the same stuff on Facebook Marketplace and it's free. Not that it's perfect by any means, it isn't, but I get 3 to 4 times as many sales weekly.
The only good thing about ebay is the easy shipping without having to print labels. Even getting through to customer service means negotiating a difficult chatbot that doesn't list all the options you need.
Ebay really needs to upgrade to the 21st century.

Reported a scam seller but eBay do nothing

Despite reporting a scam seller twice (I have the proof) eBay have not approached me nor stopped the seller . Bit galling you see the sellers advertising stuff and you know others will also be scammed. But eBay don’t care. Too big I suppose.

Absolutely rubbish company now

Absolutely rubbish company now.
I purchased an item and checked the delivery info before purchasing as I needed it before a certain date. Dispatch same day if ordered before a time deadline, then the postal service used was Royal Mail tracked 48 (a 2/3 day service) so should have taken maximum 4 days to be delivered which was fine for when I needed it. Needless to say it didn’t arrive. I went to open a dispute to get the ball rolling for a refund but couldn’t as eBay had decided to add 5 days onto the delivery timeframe. When I called to find out why they didn’t have an answer just a load of rubbish about location and courier delays. All they ever do is blame the courier. The item wasn’t that far from my delivery location. All this lot do is protect there seller and don’t care about there buyers. EBay is getting a horrible place to buy from now, I think we need a rival platform to make eBay a better place to buy from.

Ebay allowing misleading advertising of products

EBay are letting sellers falsely advertise some products with images clearly showing one item and then different, inferior items being shipped. Delivery info showing quick delivery that then takes weeks. When reported, you get an automated AI response that quickly dismisses any concerns

EBay are very poor at backing up the…

EBay are very poor at backing up the delivery dates and undelivered items. Items are often late that are sold on the fact they will arrive quickly. Items are often marked as delivered with no evidence, no delivery time sent in advance and not even a couriers company name and they are very slow to respond. When they do it’s just a generic answer designed to fob you off

Ebay now facilitates fraud

I have given them comprehensive evidence of a scam seller but they just don't respond. Been an Ebay member for 20 years but this company now facilitates fraud and hides behind a stonewall.

Banned my account without telling me why.
I was given no chance to make my case.

Some idiot reviewed my account and said, " Yep, that guy is banned, and there is nothing they can do.

What low-IQ people have they hired for this?
Terrible company policy. No wonder people are going to other platforms such as Vinted or Depop.

Ebay as bad as the sellers it's surposed to protect buyer from!!

Generally speaking ebay is not bad however for the first time I had reason the try to resolve a faulty goods item, the seller (loyaltyzone 660) claimed I had misused the item,(a ninja blender blade screw on top)
It has been in use for 2 months and jammed up.
They saidcthey would replace after I threatened to leave bad review, but now ignore all my messages.
Enter Ebay, buyer protection is worthless, they will not contact the seller but offer to send me links to citizens advice🤣
Basically Ebay is protecting the sellers it say are not welcome on ebay who do not act appropriately.
After 13 yrs of being an Ebay customer I'm c,losing my account.

FEEDBACK ON EBAY IS FALSE!

FEEDBACK ON EBAY ISN'T WORTH A HILL OF BEANS! I left negative feedback for a seller who knowingly sold me a defective item. My feedback has now been wiped because the buyer gave me a refund, despite going through the appeals process , which he lost. This means that feedback is only shown on the website if it is positive. SO WHAT IS THE POINT OF LEAVING FEEDBACK? This leaves a false representation to any other potential buyers from this seller. All they see is how wonderful the seller is, not when intentional mistakes are made.
