Sainsbury’s are simply a Godsend kept me alive during covid keep me alive now I’m disabled they are my lifeline great products great staff !! Thank you 🙏
I registered for a Salisbury's online grocery account some weeks ago and attempted to use it for the first time today.
I was on site for approx. 3hrs browsing, adding items to my basket, saving some items to Favorites, etc.
I was surprised when I completed my shop that instead of going straight to the check- out screen up came a calendar screen.
I clicked on the 'click and collect' tab at top of the screen and was taken aback that I could not move from this page - despite several attempts.
Plus none of the locations given for stores in the area were convenient for me.
I could not change location of default store despite putting in search bar the postcode of a local store - I tried several times to no avail.
Because I could not move on from this screen, despite clicking on calendar and other bits on screen, I tried to get help from the CHAT BOT but this was limited (limited options), did not help.
I ended up phoning Sainsbury’s customer service for assistance.
After speaking to a customer care team member (in technical team), who left the call a few times to check my account, look into the difficulties I had highlighted, I was told I had to book a slot before placing order - THIS MAKES NO SENSE: I HAVE TO BOOK A SLOT FOR CLICK AND COLLECT???
To cut this frustration of all frustrations tale short clicking on the morning, afternoon and evening slots yielded no available slots for click and collect OR deliveries for almost a week (until the 20th October) ALL SLOTS WERE MARKED ‘FULL’.
I discovered because my order was under £25 I would be charged an extra £4.00 to collect it from a store!
To book a delivery came to £7.50 (deliveries slots were marked as full until next week!)
To book a slot/place order I needed to enter my card (payment) details, delivery address, mobile number - some of these details I had entered when I registered for the account but Hey-ho...... and a ‘nickname’????
When I clicked the obligatory tab at the end of this process I was taken back to the shopping screen???
I aborted shop because by this stage I had enough.
Afterwards:
I phoned Sainsbury's customer care team to question why their online grocery site was so complicated to use compared to other online grocery sites (Tesco, Asda, etc,) After a lot of venting (of frustration) I was told to shop on said sites....... then the ‘customer care’ team member hung up on me! GREAT (not)
Needless to say I will avoid using this site in the future.
For years and years I have shopped in Sainsbury's. Once, it was the branch in Bury St Edmunds, then Braintree, then Halstead. I raised five children and continued to use the Halstead store when I became a single mum. I use the Nectar card, save and use coupons, and every month I send feedback (and wonder if anyone ever wins anything that way!) Last year, a member of staff directed me to a queue for a self-service till, then laughed (in my hearing) about me. I complained, received apologies, and thought that was the end of such disrespect. Then something else happened. Working carefully through my shopping, and packing a trolley, I was considering my money-off coupons and paying in two lots. But in between my payments - while I still stood right there at the till - I was accosted by a member of staff who indicated the three or four items still in my trolley. Were they clearly visible? Yes. Had I left the till? No. I was annoyed, then it got worse. The manager came (at my request) and defended her colleague. I would be surprised, it seemed, by how many loyal customers steal. Right. But does that excuse this type of behaviour towards someone who you could reasonably wait and watch (if you must - it's not as if this team doesn't know me). They also raised eyebrows over my use of the special trolley. The fact is, you don't have to be in a wheelchair to use them, so this was discriminatory. Thoroughly angry, I left them and spoke to the Security Guard, and he was pleasant. He hadn't seen any reason to accost and deliberately offend me. Since then, I have sent a formal complaint via customer service ... and guess what? Two reference numbers later, nothing is happening. This won't be where it ends, even if executives are trying their best to ignore me.
Following an online shop there were two items missing. It's not the end of the world but is very inconvenient.
As part of the shop several items were substituted and I received a gift voucher for the price difference. I accepted the substitutions, however due to the inconvenience I will be doing my shop elsewhere therefore can't use the voucher. When I asked if the voucher could just be refunded the assistant just said no. Didn't seemed too bothered about the mess up and overall poor customer service.
Absolutely Appalling Customer Service from Sainsbury’s if I could give 0 stars I would.
I have experienced the worst customer service I have ever encountered with Sainsbury’s. For such a large and well-established company, I find it absolutely shocking that the level of customer service is so appalling.
I placed a food order online, only for Sainsbury’s to cancel my order due to what they described as “risk management” and subsequently close my online account. I was told that I needed to submit an appeal and that someone would contact me within 72 hours.
As a result, I was left without my food shopping and without access to the money I had paid for it. I have now been waiting for a week, and I still have neither my food order nor my refund. This is completely unacceptable, especially when people rely on their grocery deliveries to feed themselves and their families.
What makes this situation even worse is the appalling customer service I have received throughout the process. Neither the live chat team nor the telephone support team has been genuinely helpful. Instead of resolving the issue or providing clear answers, I have been left frustrated, disappointed and without any proper assistance.
I have also submitted multiple complaints and have not received a single meaningful response. It is disgraceful that a company of Sainsbury’s size can leave a customer in this position for an entire week without resolving the matter or even providing a satisfactory update.
I completely understand that companies may have security and risk management procedures in place, but that does not excuse the lack of communication, support and basic customer care. If an order is cancelled and an account is closed, customers should not be left chasing their own money with no clear explanation of when the situation will be resolved.
This has been an incredibly stressful, frustrating and disappointing experience. The complete lack of accountability and the inability to get help through any of their customer service channels have seriously damaged my trust in Sainsbury’s.
I will never order from Sainsbury’s again, and I certainly would not recommend their online shopping service based on my experience. A company that takes customers’ money should take equal responsibility for resolving problems promptly and treating customers with respect.
Absolutely unacceptable service from start to finish. Sainsbury’s needs to seriously review its customer service processes and how it treats its customers.
i was suppose to get a deliverey at 1pm but it didnt turned up till 3.30pm for which i got no explination we i phone up to see where it was and than the telephone operator put the phone down on me sainburys is getting worse for there deliveries and customer service considering looking for a new shop
The last 3 times I’ve done a scan and shop I’ve been “randomly” selected for a check, I forgot to scan a loaf of bread on one shop and so now it seems I’m marked as untrustworthy. I even tried doing a normal shop a couple of times after the 2 random check but to no avail. Why should I keep shopping with you when you’re making my experience more difficult? I wouldn’t have minded if the thing I forgot was the more expensive items but it wasn’t, it was an item less than £1.. you’ve lost a customer, I’ll drive to the next town and use Tesco instead.
I I am very grateful that I was able to buy a unique vegetable like a romenescu colliflower. But the thing that let me down in a bog Sainsbury's is the park I parked in a disabled spot with my blue badge which I had to earn but a mother pulled up with a bog car two children and no blue badge in a disabled spot which is not good I asked if some could sort and pass it on and they said they did not deal with it and not much happend which was disappointing

Have shopped at Sainsbury’s at Colton retail park Leeds for years. What a disappointing supermarket it has become. The scan and shop and self checkouts are hardly staffed meaning you have to wait ages for any items you need approval on or when they have staff they aren’t aware you are waiting because they are stood chatting.
Broken fridge doors aren’t a good look at all with some completely missing. Plus items of food just thrown onto the shelves and why anyone would put pies on the shop floor when the box is so damaged you can see that the pie itself is completely crushed is beyond me.
Overall this store has a very shabby appearance and I would suggest it needs to improve drastically.

I would like to thank Ms Mandy Notley (who is based at Sainsbury’s with the branch code 0506) for her help with transferring my total points (two years earned points from an unregistered nectar card which was given to me in the store and was lost) to a new one. She was very professional and considerate, and I very much appreciate her excellent customer service.
In addition, I would like to point out that the management at Sainsbury’s 0506 is very helpful, friendly and nice.
As far as the central customer service is concerned, I have found them extremely unhelpful and
incompetent. I strongly believe that the staff working in the ‘live chat’ should be replaced with AI, this would surely provide much better customer service by far.
All I wanted the customer service to do for me, was to reinstate my total points to my new card using the information about the lost nectar card that was given on the receipts which I had kept; and they were not able to do so.
Later on, I wanted the customer service to pass on my feedback to the lady mentioned above; and they suggested that I should use the site address lettuce-know.com which is printed on the shopping receipt. In this case, regretfully the feedback was not forwarded to Ms M. Notley which was extremely disappointing.
I believe that the online address lettuce-know.com is only for the purpose of statistical information gathering for the benefit of the company.
Finally, in an efficient customer service, staff members would always go out of their way; and to the best of their ability assist customers, such that ultimate customer satisfaction can be achieved.

I have my shopping delivered and I have found all the delivery personnel pleasant and helpful. I am happy with the fresh raspberries condition, even though they were on their last day and am still using. Altogether I am happy with my shopping from Sainsbury's.

Sainsburys have changed. The meat is substandard and theres not much choice.especially chicken cuts or diced redmeat. The packaging makes some meat smell bad.Its watery.Drumsticks are difficult to find and whole legs and bad quality if it is available.Thin veiny meat. Also The shrinkflation in alot of products.Sainsburys chocolate mousse the pots are barely half full and the recipe seems watered down.Pies pastry is hard.

Over the last six months I have had to leave three trolley loads of shopping at Hoddesdon branch of Sainsbury’s
On each occasion there have been no till open except self check out , which I refuse to use when I have so much shopping
Each time they refused to open a till - saying they did not have the staff
On each occasion I have left my trolley at the customer service- when manned explaining that it will take longer to go around the store placing items back on the shelves- not sure if they can put frozen item back than it will to open a till
Very bad customer service- both in store & from head office, still awaiting them to contact me a week later
You have to do better

I parked in the car park at the Ottery St Mary store on Aug 26th, intending to visit 2 charity shops in town then get groceries from Sainsbury’s before leaving. My time there would have been maybe an hour.
Unfortunately, I stayed 17 minutes over the allocated time of 2 hours and received a parking ticket. I immediately appealed. My appeal was rejected.
The reason for my appeal was that I was approached by a lady in the town who was in extreme distress and a danger to herself. I had to call 999 then stay with her and keep her talking to prevent her causing harm to herself. The ambulance was going to take hours so in the end I talked her into accompanying me to the local GP who then took over caring for her.
Euro Car Parks knew all this when rejecting my appeal. I have a letter from the GP confirming the events. I have my call history to 999 and am waiting for call records from the ambulance service.
Sainsbury’s chooses to use Euro Car Parks to run their car park. I appealed directly to Sainsbury’s and received some sort of generic template telling me to go directly to Euro Car Parks and telling me they look forward to seeing me in store soon. They acknowledged nothing of my circumstances at all. Thats how they treat people.
So Sainsbury’s choice of car park company is penalising me for keeping a mentally distressed person safe and alive? Absolute disgrace.

I visited Sainsbury’s at Longwater, Costessey, Norwich today. There were 10 checkouts of which only two were being manned but in the self service checkouts they had three members of staff standing around and helping if necessary. At the only two manned checkouts there were at least four trolleys at each of the checkouts all filled with a good amount of food. There was a sign saying if you want us to open a checkout speak to someone. Surely I shouldn’t have to do that, you have eyes and security and as far as I’m concerned it was disgraceful. The two cashiers were trying to rush as fast as they could but when you have customers that take forever to pack and they have to stop because of the items piling up what can they do. This is so sad because the Longwater store used to be amazing with nearly all the checkouts open but I think this will be my last time going there. I am also sad for the cashiers that have probably lost their jobs due to the self service aspect. If Tesco,Lidls and Aldi have fast checkouts why can’t Sainsbury’s do the same. What happened to one of our greatest food stores which we all grew up with
