Complaint Regarding Lyft Ride on 10/10/2026

Subject: Complaint Regarding Lyft Ride on 10/10/2026
On Saturday, 10/10/2026, at approximately 3:33 PM, I received a message from Lyft stating that a blue Honda Civic with license plate number RZS6619, driven by Jeny, would be arriving to pick me up. The driver’s contact information is available in Lyft’s ride records.
When the driver arrived, I asked, “How are you?” She replied that she was doing okay. Because the music was playing loudly through speakers located behind the passenger seats, I politely asked her to turn it down slightly. She abruptly raised her voice and angrily stated, “Get out of the car. I can cancel your ride right now. Nobody tells me what to do with my car. If you do not want to listen to music, you should have placed a note. I am not an unhappy person like you.”
I clarified that I was only requesting that the volume be lowered because the speakers were directly behind the passenger seats. I did not say that I did not want to listen to music. The driver then began driving toward my requested destination.
During the trip, I felt that the driver operated the vehicle in a manner that was uncomfortable and unsafe for me. Her turns and stops felt abrupt, and she appeared to drive quickly over potholes and other rough areas of the road. As a result, I became dizzy and felt as though I might vomit. I watched the map throughout the trip and hoped that I would arrive safely.
Additionally, the driver spoke on the phone for much of the ride. As I am a disabled veteran and a mental health nurse, I believe passengers should be treated respectfully and transported with appropriate care and attention to safety. I am requesting that Lyft review this incident, including the driver’s conduct, vehicle operation, and phone use while driving, and take any appropriate action to help prevent similar experiences for future passengers.
This experience was frightening, and I do not feel comfortable using Lyft again unless I can be assured that passenger safety and respectful service are being taken seriously.

I should have read these reviews before…

I should have read these reviews before using the service.
The driver was rude and dropped me off at a wrong location. After I told him I would log a complaint, I found that he sent me a damage receipt and charged me$150 for stain on his windshield!
The company approved his claim and told me they would not do anything else to reverse his claim! This company has horrible customer service and policy that encourages fraudulent claims against customers. Be aware that the driver can log any claim at his own will!

Charged $75 fee with ZERO proof - USE UBER!!

Lyft hit my account with a fraudulent $75 "exterior biowaste" damage fee. According to Lyft's own rules, drivers must submit immediate, timestamped photo evidence to claim a fee. When I disputed this, customer support completely failed to show me a single photo or shred of proof, yet blindly insisted the charge stands and disconnected our chat by noting "we've closed your ticket". Because they refused to provide evidence or let me speak to a manager, I had to contact my bank to dispute the unauthorized charge. I've also reported this activity to the Better Business Bureau. This company engages in predatory billing practices and will penalize you for their drivers' unsubstantiated claims. Beware of using this app!!!

I have drivers cancelling me all the time and I use Lyft for work. I had driver cancel will literally outside of where I live at have more than once every single day. I’m waiting around longer than expected for drivers because they all cancelled at the last minute I work in a profession where I have to bring people around to doctors appointments and hospitals and other appointments and it’s frustrating because then we all have to wait for unemployment and get around the city of Toronto with traffic, especially when I’m all over the city of Toronto from all the far regions of it for the work I do and take Lyft. It’s a waste of time a lot of the time because I’ve had to wait over an hour sometimes for a driver so then I go use Uber instead the problem with Uber is is that my credit card is constantly compromised and I have to redo it all over again

They absolutely suck after 3 to 5 years of using them and one small incident with my brother filing a complaint over a $20 ride and me spending numerous or several times attempting to resolve this with customer service with whom you can only chat because they don't have a contact number to resolve their customer complaints head on.
They SUCK and I will never use them again!! I am done asking for their help getting this issue resolved. They never follow through escalations to their 'specialized team' who supposedly conducts reviews. They've been conducting a review over this simple fix for the last 1,875,962 business days with no solution. Comical and equally horrible! Ill make sure no one around me uses their services.

I had a very disappointing and unacceptable experience with Lyft today. My driver canceled my ride without any notice, leaving me without transportation and causing me to miss a very important meeting. As a result, I lost a significant amount of money.

I contacted Lyft customer service hoping they would take responsibility for what happened, but they refused to do anything to help or provide any compensation for the financial loss I experienced because of the canceled ride.

What makes this even more frustrating is that there is no clear way to contact Lyft customer service by phone. The chat support is extremely slow, and it takes far too long to get a response or have an issue addressed. I also could not find a proper place on Lyft's website to file a formal complaint.

Customers depend on Lyft to get where they need to go, especially when they have important appointments and meetings. When a driver cancels unexpectedly and Lyft provides no meaningful assistance afterward, customers are the ones who suffer the consequences.

I am extremely disappointed with Lyft's service and customer support. This experience has seriously damaged my trust in the company, and I hope Lyft improves both its driver accountability and customer service.

Complete failure of Lyft customer support during active felony investigation

After seven years as a Lyft customer, I am done with Lyft
because of its Customer Service response to a serious
incident.

Within minutes of a ride, the driver was informed that she
had my Pixel 9 and was asked to return it. She refused,
claimed she was driving to Grants, NM, and then became
unreachable. Google location data showed she did not drive
to Grants. My phone remained with her until approximately
6 PM the following day.

I filed Sheriff's Report #SO26100012660. Lyft was informed
that law enforcement was treating this as a felony
investigation.

Approximately 24 hours after the ride, the driver suddenly
alleged that I had threatened her. I have video showing her
calmly dropping me off and driving away. When contacted
within minutes of the ride, she said NOTHING about being
threatened.

Instead of concentrating on recovering my phone, Lyft spent
3–4 hours questioning me about this delayed allegation,
would not provide meaningful details of what I supposedly
did, ignored many of my questions, and showed no interest
in reviewing my video evidence.

Lyft then placed my account on probation—even though I did
not purchase or contract for this ride.

Rio Grande Automotive purchased the ride. They operate
eight locations in multiple states and requested an
immediate supervisor call from Lyft. Their request was not
even acknowledged. They are now considering discontinuing
Lyft at all eight locations.

My phone was finally returned the following evening, and I
have video documenting its return.

The driver's conduct was bad enough. Lyft Customer
Service's handling of it is why I am ending my seven-year
relationship with the company.

Lyft Canada does not paid his drivers

Lyft Canada does not paid his drivers. Tjey stopped paying me 18 months after I have been working for the company. They used as excuses that the third party processor in charge of the payouts system wants to verify my identity. It is a non sense, because if I was getting paid during 18 months, that means my identity was verified before. Lyft chat with agents is useless. They asked me to upload my documents 20 times in their system even those documents were used by the company before I started working for them. The third party processor said that my documents are not accurate, but they never mentioned what is wrong with them. Those documents have been issued either by the Government of Canada or the province where I live.

Deleted my false safety report, then refused to prove it

Lyft recorded a false safety report against me on June 23, 2026 that was never investigated - their own agent admitted in writing they 'aren't physically in these rides.' That uninvestigated allegation was sent to HireRight and got my Uber account deactivated TWICE, destroying my livelihood. On Sep 30, three Lyft agents refused in writing to remove it, citing 'internal policy.' On Oct 1, a Lyft specialist wrote 'The report has been deleted from our end' - but 10+ hours later Lyft still cannot provide the deletion date or proof they notified HireRight. Instead I get blank templates asking me to repeat myself. A company that deletes your data but can't prove when or tell the credit agencies is not safe to drive for or ride with.

Pet Lyft?

I am so incredibly grateful that Lyft provides a dedicated 'Pet' option, especially since they charge a $3 premium for it each way! It is just a shame that paying extra apparently buys you a dirty car, a driver who goes into a complete frenzy because he doesn't speak English, and being forced to strangle your own non-shedding service dogs on your lap for a 5-minute ride because the driver insists they belong on the floor mats.
The real star of the show, however, is Lyft's customer service. They spent over an hour offering the most wonderfully tone-deaf automated script, repeating 'we hear your frustration' while completely ignoring the facts. To crown the entire experience, their genius solution after looking at my charges was to tell me to 'pick the pet ride next time'—when that is exactly what I paid extra for on both trips! Thank you, Lyft, for taking my money, delivering absolutely zero pet service, and providing the most useless support imaginable. Truly an unmatched experience
