£20 expected, approximately $800 requested

I applied for UK ETAs for my family. The website initially gave the impression that the cost was around £20, but during the payment process I discovered that approximately $800 was being requested. I immediately cancelled the payment.
By that point, I had already entered our personal and passport details. This experience was extremely concerning. Please check the amount very carefully before confirming any payment and use the official UK government website for ETA applications.

Overcharged by nearly 10x for official UK ETA

VisaFi is a scam operation that uses hidden fees and misleading pricing to extract money from unsuspecting travelers. I applied for a UK ETA through a checkout page displaying the standard £20 fee. Immediately after paying, I found out VisaFi charged 199 USD to my account!

They intentionally conceal their massive service fees during the checkout process to trick users into paying ridiculous markups for a simple government application. I have demanded a full refund, reported them to consumer protection, and initiated a chargeback with my bank. Do not trust this company under any circumstances—use the official UK government website directly!

Experience with Visafy

Experience with Visafy. They use a highly deceptive web interface that mimics an official government website, which misled me into paying an excessive fee for a US ETA application. By the way, the cost is immediately done without sking for permision through the bank aplication.
To make matters worse, my ETA application was never completed, meaning they provided absolutely no service. My refund request (Reference: REF-029295) was officially submitted on September 18, 2026. Although they sent an automated email confirming it was being processed, it has now been over 10 business days and I have received nothing.
I have sent an email every single day asking for an update, and they are completely ignoring me. I demand an immediate refund for a service that was never delivered. Avoid this website at all costs.

This site is a scam

This site is a scam! Do not use it!
They have debited my credit card of 199.50 USD for a UK visa process that I had decided to interrupt as soon as I have realised it was a scam.
Police and credit card company have been informed. I have claimed the reimbursement but after two weeks nothing so far.
Be careful about your personal data too!

If you ever fall for the hidden fee scam…

If you ever fall for the hidden fee scam and you happen to be an EU resident, then stop filling any data that you have left to fill and go to the official government website and order your visa there instead. After that write a letter to the merchant stating that you have already have an existing visa and made the order mistakenly and according to their ToS you should get a full refund. Also mention that they must stop processing your data immediately and you are going to start a chargeback if they don’t comply.
Then start a chargeback process via your bank where you clearly show on screenshots that they failed to state the real total fee at the checkout and show the screenshots. Such hidden fees are not allowed for EU consumers.
After that you should have your money back within a few months.

I was scammed

I was scammed, unfortunately, since I did not pay attention during the last step of the transaction. The price differed from what I initially got, and not with a small amount but more than 300 USD were charged instead of 24 Euros. I have filed a complaint and also reported this to the Swedish Police. Luckily, as of now anyway, the VISA seems so have been approved which means the company actually have applied on my behalf, but I guess it will show when I travel if something is phishy with that as well. But, only apply via ETA Gov the official website unless you want to risk extreme extra fees.

Scammers

Scammers. They say the visa is €20, and when you fill in your bank details for the transaction they write off 353 euros. The fact that they make money this way is absolutely disgusting.

The website displayed the official UK…

The website displayed the official UK ETA fee of £20, but my card was subsequently charged USD 172.90 by COMMAS. The total amount and the substantial additional service fee were not clearly presented to me immediately before payment.

The payment was taken at an early stage, while my application was only 38% complete. Visafi later confirmed in writing that the application had not been submitted to the UK authorities and that essential passport information and photographs were still missing.

I requested immediate cancellation and a full refund on 17 September 2026. Although the refund request was registered, I continue to receive automated emails asking me to complete the application, and a further claim was created on 21 September without a clear explanation.

I am still awaiting the return of the full USD 172.90. I will update this review if and when the refund is completed. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend applying directly through GOV.UK.

Absolute scam

Absolute scam. They charged me over €170 for a uk visa, which was never issues as they then requested additional personal information which is totally unnecessarily for the visa, obviously for further scams. This company is disgusting. Just go through gov.uk. I have requested a refund but I don't have much hope.

What a scam

What a scam. A £20 visa costs $74 and £94. Amazing how you get ripped off. A very stressful issue for me. Beware of dealing with these people.
