RUN! Use any other bus company!
[EDIT: FlixBus responded publicly claiming the case was resolved "in accordance with their Terms and Conditions." They have not addressed the core issue at any point: their driver let me board without scanning my ticket. No terms and conditions change the fact that their employee's failure to follow basic procedure is what caused everything that happened that day.]
In February 2026, a FlixBus driver let me board without scanning my ticket, verbally confirming I was on the right bus when I wasn't. I ended up in the wrong city, in a country where I don't speak the language fluently, with a driver who spoke neither French nor English and showed zero willingness to help.
To get back on track, I had to return to the city I had just come from and wait for the next bus. And then FlixBus managed to make things even worse: the replacement bus had no FlixBus branding and displayed a different number than what was on my ticket. After everything that had already happened, how was I supposed to guess that a random bus from another company was actually mine? I missed it. Two other passengers missed it too -- they had received an email warning about the vehicle substitution. I received nothing.
I filed a formal complaint with full documentation and eventually (after I posted this review the first time) a human agent replied by email promising a refund. Then a bot took over and sent a generic message saying they would not refund anything. Their customer service is a loop from hell: humans promise things, bots override them, and no one is accountable for anything.
FlixBus will let their drivers wave random passengers onto the wrong bus, strand them, send a mystery replacement vehicle with no warning, promise a refund, and then have a bot walk it back. Book with literally anyone else.
