Absolutely disgraceful customer service.
Wizz Air cancelled my flight just two weeks before I was due to travel, completely disrupting a trip that had already been planned and paid for.
I paid £313, yet I’m apparently only being offered a £124 refund because the first leg of my connecting journey hasn’t been cancelled. This completely misses the point. My final destination is not the connecting airport. The flights were booked as part of my journey to my actual destination, and cancelling the onward flight makes the first leg effectively useless to me.
To make matters worse, I have already paid for two weeks of non-refundable accommodation, meaning I now stand to lose significantly more money through absolutely no fault of my own.
Cancelling a passenger’s journey at short notice is bad enough. Expecting them to absorb the financial consequences while refunding only a fraction of what they paid is appalling.
I booked and paid for transport to my final destination, not a pointless trip to a connecting airport.
£313 paid. £124 offered back. Flight cancelled two weeks before departure. Non-refundable accommodation at risk.
Completely unacceptable. I would think very carefully before booking a connecting journey with Wizz Air if this is how passengers are treated when part of an itinerary is cancelled.
One of the most disappointing airline experiences I’ve ever had — absolutely not worth it.
My experience with Wizz Air was so poor that I honestly wouldn’t give it even one star if that were possible.
From start to finish, the experience was frustrating. The aircraft was poorly maintained, with food debris scattered across the floor and seats, and dust falling from the area above the window. The seats were uncomfortable, and the overall cleanliness was simply unacceptable. On top of that, children were allowed to run around uncontrollably for nearly two hours before a crew member eventually intervened.
Our departure was delayed by an hour because the aircraft needed refuelling, and the boarding process was unnecessarily slow. To make matters worse, the flight was not even half full, and passengers had to be spread across the aircraft to balance its weight. In that context, being charged extra because my backpack was just a couple of centimetres over the permitted limit felt particularly unreasonable. I understand that airlines have baggage policies to follow, but there should be some common sense and proportionality in how those rules are enforced, especially when the flight is far from full.
What I found particularly frustrating was the striking contrast between Wizz Air’s attention to enforcing baggage rules and its apparent lack of attention to passenger comfort and customer service. The staff seemed extremely efficient when it came to charging passengers extra because their luggage did not fit into the baggage measurement frame — a frame that appears considerably smaller than those used by many other airlines. Yet when it came to maintaining a clean aircraft, ensuring a comfortable journey, managing boarding efficiently, or addressing customer complaints, that same level of efficiency was nowhere to be seen.
Unfortunately, the poor experience didn’t end when the flight landed. After being charged extra for my luggage and enduring such a disappointing journey, I contacted Wizz Air to explain my concerns. Instead of addressing the actual issues, their customer service repeatedly asked me for information that was irrelevant to my case. It took almost two months to receive a final response, only to be told that they would not take any action.
They eventually offered me €50 in credit to my Wizz Air account. Frankly, this did little to restore my confidence in the airline, and I didn’t even bother accepting it. Why would I want credit to fly with an airline I have no intention of using again?
I understand that budget airlines keep prices low by cutting costs, but low-cost should never mean low standards, poor customer service, or a complete disregard for the passenger experience. Passengers should not feel that an airline is more interested in penalising them for a backpack that is a couple of centimetres over its limit than in providing a clean, comfortable, and reasonably organised journey.
After this experience, I have no intention of flying with Wizz Air again. There are plenty of airlines competing for customers, and Wizz Air has given me more than enough reasons to look elsewhere.
My advice to other travellers: think carefully before booking. A cheap ticket may end up costing you far more in frustration, inconvenience, and disappointment than you expected.

Absolutely the worst experience with an airline my advice is simply avoid booking with them at all costs use another airline because it will be a far better experience and once you add on everything it will be cheaper I had problems because they changed my airport I fly from which is 50 miles away from what I booked and returns to another airport with zero notice.
Trying to check in without paying is virtually impossible and you get no help whatsoever.
AVOID
First time booking with them and had 3 changes to the original flight times. I have now cancelled as they changed the days and I can’t get a refund.
Will never book with them again.
AVOID.
THIEVES
THIEVES! Every time I make a booking, the first payment attempt fails, and by the second attempt, the tickets have become more expensive! Scammers!!!

I book a flight going to istanbul its a roundtrip flight 2months ahead, a booking from kiwi.com and my airline is wizzair. But due of some personal reason i decided to cancel my flight. I was waiting atleast half of my ticket price or even airline credits, but they declined my request and didn't refund me at all. Thats bullshit! Worst airline policy! If there is a zero star i would definitely used that to make a review.

Charged a booking fee despite being told to book in at the airport when I tried to book in online. Customer service was then completely crap.
+€40 for 3kg ?
€40 for 3 kg?! Wizz Air, Seriously? 😂
At check-in, our suitcase weighed 23 kg instead of 20 kg. Wizz Air wanted €40 extra.
My captain’s brain immediately ran the numbers:
Option A: Pay €40.
Option B: Move 3 kg into our backpacks. Cost €0.
Same passengers. Same payload. Same aircraft. Same fuel burn. €40 saved.
Wizz Air tried to collect an overweight fee from someone who makes weight-and-balance decisions for a living.
Wrong customer, Wizz Air. 😂
The funniest part? They were perfectly happy once we moved the weight around.
Sometimes bureaucracy defeats common sense.
Two customers lost (I’ll be avoiding Wizz Air like the plague from now on). €0 collected. Brilliant business strategy!
And what’s with the name Wizz Air anyway? Is that supposed to mean taking a whiz at 35,000 feet? 💦🤣

I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from Wizz Air staff at Tirana Airport. The customer service was absolutely terrible, and the way I was treated was unacceptable.
I had a small 10kg suitcase. When I flew from London, I had no issues, so I did not realise that my bag needed to be a backpack or a small bag that fits under the seat. I understand that there are baggage rules, but the way the staff handled the situation was completely unnecessary.
The lady at the check-in desk was incredibly rude and treated me terribly in front of other people. She could have simply explained the baggage policy politely, but instead, she made the whole experience humiliating and unpleasant over a bag.
I have never experienced customer service like this. There is a big difference between enforcing rules and treating customers with disrespect. Wizz Air seriously needs to improve its customer service and provide better training for its staff.
I would understand being asked to pay for my bag if it did not meet the requirements, but there is absolutely no excuse for treating a customer so poorly. This experience has left me with a very negative impression of Wizz Air.
STAY AWAY WORST AIRLINE EVER - I WORK IN THIS SECTOR
1- they will change your flight suddenly
2- they will not even give you money back
3- they will try to steal money when in airport.
4- staff (special mention to Catania airport one) is rude, ugly and totally crazy, punching your bag to fit inside the trolley size measurer
5- no customer service
Flew with Wizz Air today
Flew with Wizz Air today, impressed with the cabin crew making clear to passengers embarking to put luggage away quickly and not block the aisle. A little late taking off but a good flight with lovely cabin crew. However landing at Luton was a bit of a drama, we touched down and then immediately took off again, very scarey but the pilot, cockpit and cabin staff handled it extremely well, we had to go round again and the captain said it was a visual reference, which means the pilot has seen something and it wasn't safe to land. Well done Wizz Air👏👏
Awful customer support
Awful customer support, I bought a return ticket with this airline from London to Bilbao and downloaded their app. When I went to write my profile name a dialogue box came and said it was not recognised name that I have to write it like a British name,it only allowed me to write my initials. When I did my check in I wrote the complete name all my details as usually would do in any airline. When I received the boarding past only showed my initials and surname I thought at the time that was their system as they asked me to scan my passport too. When I went to the boarding gate I was denied boarding because my boarding pass only showed the initials of my name and surname. They said if I wanted for them to write the full names I have to pay 117 pounds!.They would not take any responsibility at all I called customer service and they insisted that if I wanted to change the name on my profile I have pay, they even refuse to send me my ticket via email. So not only they misslead me when I try to write my name, but you cannot even edit anything in the apps profile, the intention is to charge as much as they can! They are very rude they put the phone down twice when I told them that it was their responsibility not mine. They don't listen or cooperate .I lost the whole of my money for the two tickets and have to purchase tickets with another more reliable company.Absolutly a joke!!!
Extremely disappointing experience with…
Extremely disappointing experience with Wizz Air gate staff. My partner was stopped because she had a handbag and a backpack. She immediately offered to put the handbag completely inside the backpack so that she would have only one piece of cabin baggage. The staff member refused to allow her to do so.
She then offered to take some clothes out of the backpack and wear them, but this was also refused. I had already passed the gate check and offered to put her handbag inside my own permitted backpack — this solution was refused as well.
We were not refusing to comply with the baggage rules. On the contrary, we offered several immediate ways to comply before boarding, but the staff member prevented us from doing so and then charged us an additional baggage fee.
This felt completely unreasonable and focused on collecting an extra fee rather than allowing passengers to comply with the baggage allowance.
I have submitted a formal complaint and expect Wizz Air to explain which specific rule gives gate staff the right to prohibit a passenger from reorganising their belongings before boarding and then charge them for non-compliance.
A corporate disgrace
Flight was cancelled 27th June, over 3 months later they still haven’t paid the EU compensation 400 euro or the compensation for an extra stay overnight.
The worse airline ever, I only hope no one ever uses them again. We certainly wont.

Wizz Air is of the worst and scammers
Wizz Air is one of the worst and most disgusting airlines I’ve ever dealt with. They cancelled my flight, yet after paying €240, I was offered only €203 back. Losing €37 because of a cancellation caused by the airline itself is absolutely unacceptable. Their customer service is rude, disrespectful, and useless. Even Ryanair is far better. A complete scam of an airline. Avoid Wizz Air at all costs!

Took a flight from Varna to Warsaw…
Took a flight from Varna to Warsaw Poland booked a window Seat. A blonde women sitting next to me as soon as she saw my brown skin she quickly asked to change seats, I wonder why. As requested the Wizz air steward was very nice and stuck the woman at the back next to the smelly toilets where she should be. I had my legs across the middle seat nice and relaxed Wizz Air staff were very accommodating. I had a nice snooze and a good flight. I landed in Warsaw feeling very fresh. The blonde passenger who was meant to be sitting next to me probably landed smelling of human feces. Then got a quick train to krakow made it in one peace had a few name calling and staring as if I was an alien. Once I got to Krakow airport I took another wizz air flight to London. Now I felt much safer and was another great flight. Thanks for your help and services wizz air
Customer Service
Avoid Wizz Air if you expect basic competence or customer support when emergencies happen.
Due to a documented medical emergency requiring surgery, I was unable to fly and submitted official medical documentation for a refund claim. Wizz Air’s handling of this has been a total disaster:
Data Mishandling: They sent me written correspondence referencing a completely different person's name on my confidential documentation and notified me that my file had been merged with an unrelated case.
Zero Accountability: Multiple emails asking why confidential files were being mixed up were completely ignored.
Rude Customer Support: When calling to get answers, an agent hung up on me mid-phone call when asked for a reference number. Another agent claimed my pending case was closed and denied their own written correspondence existed.
Experiencing this level of negligence while preparing for surgery is unacceptable.
