I was excited to get the product. Opened the box and saw two devices to charge. The wristband is charging but the blood pressure cuff shows nothing. The light is supposed to indicate that it is charging. I contacted the help section but got an AI assistant who gave me no help. Now I don’t trust their quality control. I just want to send this back and get a refund and they are ignoring me. Poorest customer service ever. How can this be a quality product?? Very disappointing
We purchased for a family member but they weren’t comfortable with it. Have returned it and a month later still waiting for a refund.
The AI service centre is unhelpful and doesn’t resolve the issue.
The website is deliberately unclear so as to make returning it more difficult.
Ironically my blood pressure is rising trying to deal with resolving it!!
It is comparatively early days - just a three weeks in.
Pros so far - The blood pressure readings are accurate. I genuinely thought they would be way off but they correlate well with state of the art hospital blood pressure devices.
The band comes with a Bluetooth blood pressure cuff which they get you to use at least once a month to recalibrates your wrist sensor and ensure continued accuracy.
The mass of readings are giving a detailed insight to what is going on and certainly help the doctors when reviewing my medication.
The supplied wrist band is not very long, so if your wrists are a little larger than normal, it may not fit.
Update - 12.10.26 - optional large wristbands (silicon or nylon) are available. Hilos service team have sent me one and their support has been excellent. Increased review From 3 to 4 stars.
Con - The MAIN problem is the impact sleep monitoring has on your stats. At night, blood pressure (normally) drops, but if the band thinks you are still awake, it adds those readings to the daytime stat's, significantly distorting the average.
There is a weird option to manually alter the sleeping times, but it only allows you to alter them for the periods that the band has detected you are asleep, so, if it thought you were awake, you cant alter it!
The initial thought was that my arm must be moving during the night but, as I am part of a sleep study with video recordings, we can see that is not the case.
You can make manual notes on the app to highlight issues like this and what you were doing at certain times that may influence readings which is good, but it doesnt get away from the fact that the nice big, bold display stats are actually wrong.
Update 12.10.26 - a new software drop will apparently fix this issue shortly and if that goes well I will be able to increase my review to 5 stars.
Either way, if you have blood pressure or are concerned about it, this device is worth investing in.
The subscription costs are higher than I would like, but this is one of those times when I don’t mind paying for something - it actually works and offers peace of mind on so many levels. Hopefully the profit margins are put to good use and enhance the experience in the future.

This thing just does not work as in intended . Connection is a nightmare, only when Hilo want to connect. I have no problems with internet connection . The problem is connection to Hilo. Sleep mode is a joke according to Hilo i sleep 2 hrs per night. I have bought a MUCH cheaper rival 79 euro. Which works perfectly.

When I first mentioned the Hilo band to a cardiologist, they were very sceptical about its accuracy, but they did some research into it and emailed me back to say that it was a great idea, when combined with regular traditional cuff measurements.
I've been using the Hilo band consistently for over 6 months now. Over this time, I can clearly see a fairly accurate trend between a cuff measurement from a different brand and the Hilo band itself. The issues people are experiencing are likely to be related to poor calibration or technique. It's absolutely essential not to rely solely on the band, but when you start looking at long-term trends, it matches my cuff measurement perfectly. Therefore, I'm more comfortable that it's showing me hour-by-hour variations reasonably accurately.
I'm still in my first year, and I do think the subscription cost is a little bit on the high side. I have bought an alternative band, but other options on that side might be quite useful. It would be nice to see Hilo integrate into a more thorough device and take on companies like Whoop. All this said, it does what it promises, and that's what matters most.

Poor accuracy.
I have been using Hilo for 4 months now, all the time comparing the results with a standard arm cuff.
The results are consistently higher than a normal arm cuff, I have contacted Hilo, the AI bot asked me to send in readings from both devices for them to compare, they then came back saying my readings couldn't be proven and asked for another set...and the circles begin, I gave up in the end.
Stick with the device your GP uses and save some money.

Awful experience so far. Got the device and the cuff is broken. Have been waiting for over a week for a response from customer service

Once it's set up it's a great product.
Onboarding (initial setup) is a nightmare but great customer support helped over the hump.
Unforgivable: to supply a USB-A charger in 2026 is inexplicable.

The hilo system is not even close to accurate. It. Can be 40 points off my doctor's readings. I would definitely not recommend it.

The software app is intuitive and “friendly “ - especially helpful for those of us who are older!
Support via AI and human is very good.
The band and cuff are well designed are comfortable to use.
The ability to share and print is very good.
The comparability with Apple Health is most useful in creating a clear and comprehensive picture. The Sleep recording is especially accurate

The Hilo wearable is an effective device for monitoring blood pressure, sleep duration, step count and heart rate. Its utility would be enhanced by the inclusion of additional metrics such as heart rate variability (HRV), which would consolidate the tracking of key health indicators and reduce the requirement for multiple devices.

Great experience, to have my blood pressure under control and easily report my doctor.

Worked ok for a short while then started having charging issues. Charging indicator illuminated overnight but dead the next morning. Can't be bothered to keep trying to charge. Customer services never respond, probably because they don't know what to suggest and don't want to replace. Accuracy is a bit hit and miss so I wouldn't use the data for anything more than a rough guide. There are now better alternatives so would suggest trying those without a subscription first.

I bought this device when it was Aktiia. It worked great and helped me manage my BP and report it to my doctor.
When Hilo took over, I was forced to accept a software update. They also rather aggressively tried to sell me a monthly subscription to an app, which I refused.
You have to calibrate the wrist band by syncing it with a BP cuff (supplied) once a month. After the Hilo software update, calibration didn't work any more. Without calibrating, the wrist band will not measure BP. So the device is rendered useless. I have been in this situation for four months now. The support I have received is as follows:
1. It must be you. Are you doing this or that? Try this, try that. Do it again just to be sure.
2. It must be your wrist band. We'll send you a new one under warranty.
3. The new band doesn't work? It must be you. Are you doing this or that? Try this, try that. Do it again just to be sure.
4. Maybe it's our software update. But no, we cannot roll you back onto the version of the software that worked for you.
5. Do you have one of the medical conditions on this list? Using the Hilo band is contra-indicated if you do.
6. Please return your product for a refund.
I have the impression that a company with a great technology (Aktiia) has been taken over by the Vulture Capitalists (Hilo) who are just interested in making lots of money. Their current product and technology strategy reflects this, rather than a genuine desire to help people with health problems that require BP monitoring.
I don't think you will find this information on the Hilo website or in any of their product advertising, but here is the list of medical conditions that are "contraindicated" according to Hilo. Don't buy this product if you have one of them.
Arteriovenous fistula
Atrial fibrillation
Coarctation of the aorta
Damaged or injured skin
Defibrillator
Diabetes
Resting heart rate above 120 bpm
Hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism
Mastectomy
Pacemaker
Pathologies that systematically reduce peripheral perfusion
Age below 21 or above 85
Intravascular therapy or arteriovenous shunt
Implanted electrical devices
Peripheral arterial disease
Pheochromocytoma
Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD), only if overall kidney function measured by GFR is below 60
Pre-eclampsia
Premature ventricular beats
Raynaud’s disease
Renal dysfunction
Sustained cardiac arrhythmias
Tachycardia
Weak or unstable pressure pulses
I'm grateful to Hilo for accepting my request for a return of the product and a refund.

Put simply, this is marketed as offering 24/7 continuous blood pressure monitoring, and that is not what I experienced.
...
I have dysautonomia where changes in my blood pressure are a major driver of my symptoms, so I specifically bought this because I wanted to see what my BP was doing throughout the day and during symptomatic episodes.
...
It turns out that “continuous 24/7” means up to seven readings per hour, and you need to remain completely still for a reading to be taken. That is very different from what I understood “continuous monitoring” to mean.
...
More concerningly, on two separate occasions I lost consciousness and was lying on the floor for over an hour. The device/app rather ambitiously classified those periods as exercise. Needless to say, that didn't give me much confidence in the data it was producing.
...
I returned it and received a full refund. To their credit, the returns process was excellent and they didn't quibble at all.
My issue is therefore not with their customer service, but with how this product is marketed and the claims/accolades surrounding it. For something dealing with health data, I think consumers need to be exceptionally clear about what “continuous 24/7 monitoring” actually means in practice.

The Hilo band generally works very well and provides really useful data with excellent graphics that keep improving over time. I love the unobtrusive monitoring of my BP being someone who struggles very reactively with White Coat Syndrome.
My only critique is over the cost of replacement wrist straps which when stretched influence the contact with the skin, affecting some measurements.

It would be great if it could take instant measurements with Android.

Great way of finding out you true blood pressure - I used to take a BP reading every morning and evening and thought I was suffering from really high BP but after using the Hilo wrist band and app I realised that my BP was actually between 117/65 to 145/92 with the higher number probably cause by work stress!!

I’m extremely disappointed with the Hilo Band. The blood pressure feature is incredibly frustrating and unreliable. You have to try over and over, sometimes 20 times, before it finally starts measuring your blood pressure.
The whole experience is so stressful that I feel like my blood pressure goes up just trying to get the device to work! For something that is supposed to help monitor your health, it should not be this difficult.
Save your money. I would not recommend the Hilo Band.

My product stopped connecting with my Iphone 2 months ago, was trying to get support as I have fully subscribed but no responses. The product has intermittently stopped recording therefore historical data can't be properly tracked. A waste of money for me.
