Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded?

No. Splitting runs in your browser via pdf-lib. The PDF never leaves your device.

How do I select pages?

Click a page thumbnail to add it to the active output. Shift + click selects a range. Pick a different output in the sidebar to switch the colour you're assigning.

Will the page numbers stay the same?

The internal page numbers reset (the first page of each output is page 1), but the original page content is preserved exactly.

Can I split an encrypted PDF?

Encrypted PDFs may fail to load. Remove the password in your PDF viewer first, then split.

What if I need to generate per-customer PDFs automatically?

TemplateFox can generate one PDF per row of data (CSV, Airtable, your DB) directly — no need to split a master file. See the API docs.

Can a single page go into multiple outputs?

Yes. Switch between outputs in the sidebar and click the same page in each — you'll see a colored dot per output it belongs to.
