The rental itself was not that good, but everything went smoothly thanks to the hard work of the assistance team (Patie in particular) that solved every problem we had. There was a delay with the return of the deposit due to the local rental, after we contacted the assistance it took no time to have our money back and they even took legal action. Well done!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS
I booked my rental car online through Rentalcars.com, only to be redirected to Planet Cars in Thessaloniki. What followed was an experience that seriously calls into question this company's honesty and business practices.
The car was handed over to me with an empty fuel tank, and I was required to pay a €1,000 security deposit. I returned the vehicle without causing any damage whatsoever, yet Planet Cars failed to refund my deposit.
Despite my attempts to resolve the matter, getting my money back proved impossible without filing a formal payment dispute through my bank. Let that sink in: I had to involve my bank to recover €1,000 that should never have been withheld in the first place.
The customer support of Final Rentals apologized about the issue but couldn't do anything to recover my security deposit.

I definitely do not recommend them; the security deposit still hasn't been returned, even though two months have passed since the return date. A terrible company.

The branch of the COSTA DEL SOL in Spain, Mijas, is nothing but superlative!! I've rented twice from them, you're supported with prompt informations at any necessity on your whatsapp, they literally go above and beyond to accommodate your needs! I'd recommend them anytime without hesitation to anyone coming to Andalucia! (Very misleading having all these offices of the same rental company and countries gathered under One review source! )

This review relates to Final Rentals - Corfu.
I was scheduled to pick up a car at 11am from the airport. Due to travel delays I arrived at 11:45am and the car hire company had already left sighting my booking was a no show- even though they claim to provide a one hour grace period to accommodate travel delays. So my booking was apparently cancelled automatically. Final Autos made no attempt to call me or inform me of this. When I found a number to call them on, I was shouted at down the phone by the rudest lady I have ever dealt with in Greece. Then ignored. I was unable to find any evidence the car was even brought to the airport for my collection and so far I am left without a refund for what I’d paid. I can only conclude this is some kind of suspicious operation and would not recommend Final Autos.
Note: our booking was through a comparison site which and not directly with Final Autos. The booking conditions from the comparison site did not mention anything about grace periods for auto cancellation.

The company gave us a great car, and smooth pick up from the airport.

We rented a small car for three days in Grenada in late August 2026 and it was all we hoped for.
The Toyota Ignis hybrid was clean and performed well with great fuel economy and adults and carry-on luggage in it, although it was sluggish up the steeper hills.
The rep contacted us via WhatsApp the day before our booking and the process of receiving and returning the car was refreshingly simple and quick.

We rented a vehicle for 5-weeks in St. Georges in Grenada and the whole process was seamless. Drop off and pickup were easy and communication was great.

Simple rental experience in Grenada.
Suzuki Ignis was plentiful for 2 of us and two large bags.
Jivon's service was excellent. Car delivered to our first hotel on time and we went for a tour across the island via a few other hotels. Return process was simple, drop off back to base and Jivon took me to our hotel.

Stay far away! We rented a seven passenger van in The Dominican Republic. Got to a small beachside town about 2 hours away from Santo Domingo and the battery died. Had to get it jumped. Then the engine overheated and we had to take time out of our vacation to go to the parts store to get coolant. When it overheated on the drive to the airport, We were forced to pay $200 for a van to pick us up on the side of the road.
Final Rentals said they would send someone out from Santo Domingo with another car, but we would have missed our flights. A nice offer but not nearly enough. They were unwilling to give us any discounted rental fee or any compensation for the $200 cab to the airport.
I will never use them again and I suggest that you do the same. They rented a shoddy product and then did not step up to rectify the situation in any meaningful way.

Be warned - do NOT rent a car by Finalrentals Sarajevo.
We booked a car with Finalrentals in Sarajevo through the Discovercars rental platform, and it was truly a horror experience.
THE PICK UP
Upon pick-up, the Finalrental's representative time-pressed the handing over. He parked on a curb at the entrance to the parking lot and a parking guard asked us to leave several times - it was very stressful.
The car had a lot of bodywork damage as well as serious damage to the back spoiler and back light on the left side. He explained that it was caused by previous renters and that we slouldn't worry about it. We took photos, of course.
It's normal to pay at pick-up, bud he did not bring a card terminal. In fact, he tried to convince us to pay the whole amount in cash upon return of the car. He stated that he could “save some money by not having to pay the rental platform”. He also did not want us to pay the usual deposit and claimed that he was “showing us trust”. However, that did not make sense, since we could not pay anything, neither the rental amount nor the deposit without the card terminal. We kept insisting that we would pay by card, he kept insisting we paid by cash upon return and it all felt very shady. It developed into a very unpleasant discussion, leaving us questioning his integrity and intentions.
He did not provide the proper paper work on site. He just took photos of our passports and scribbled notes on a piece of paper and then promised to send the contract when he had finished it. However, he only sent a photo of an uncompleted contract in local language via WhatsApp at 04.34 next morning. The name of the company was not even visible on the photo he sent.
THE CAR
He delivered a car with multiple unmentioned problems which he must clearly have known about - or should have known about - and which caused us a lot of inconvenience and made us doubt if this was a real rental company at all.
1. the left headlight was out.
2. the door handle on the right sliding door fell off on the first day.
3. the door handle on the left sliding door was so loose that it felt as if it could also break off any time.
4. the window on the front passenger side was non-operational and slowly kept sliding down while driving. It was propped up by a small flat remote control jammed in between the window-sill and the base of the window. The window had to be closed manually several times a day by grabbing both sides and pulling it up and re-jamming the remote control.
5. the left rear tire was slowly leaking air and we had to refill it sometimes.
RETURN
Hours befor return, we wrote to the representative to bring a card terminal. He responded with laughing emojis and claimed he did not have a card terminal. We felt very uncomfortable with this - what was going on....
After meeting him at the airport, we again insisted on card payment. He reluctantly called a collegue to bring a card terminal. We then had to wait for the collegue to arrive which took a long time - and we had a plane to catch.
The representative now claimed that the pre-existing damage to the bodywork on the right side was caused by us, despite him pointing out the very same damage upon pick up. It made us suspect that the his assessment of the car was not to be trusted.
After we paid the rental amount by card, the representative asked for my passport for “further paperwork”. After receiving the passport, he demanded a deposit payment via card, again blaming us for the pre-existing right-side damage and said that he would assess the whole car and make a list of the damage. I was deeply concerned and hessitant to pay due to his fraudulent damage claims, the lack of proper rental-procedures and the fact that the car had so much damage that it should never have been rented out in the first place. However, he explicitly refused to return my passport until I paid. I felt coerced to pay. Note that under no circumstances it is legal to withhold a passport to extort payment.
We were deeply shaken by this experience and very concerned that this car may be passed on to a new costumer.
We complained to Finalrental's costumer service and raised our deep concerns about the whole process. The complaint was clearly not treated as a serious matter at all and we got nowhere. Only Discovercars - the booking platform - treated the complaint seriousuly but has no legal authority.
Worries caused by dealing with this company affected badly our whole holiday experience. However, our biggest worry is for any future costumers.

I had a very frustrating experience with the local rental partner in Thessaloniki regarding my security deposit. After returning the car, €600 was withheld as a security deposit, and resolving the matter took several months of constant follow-up and effort on my side.
I am very pleased to say that the matter has now finally been resolved. Final Rentals arranged a refund of the outstanding amount, and I have now received the payment. After all these months, it was a great relief to finally have the money returned and to see the issue brought to an end.
I do want to distinguish my experience with the local partner from my communication with Final Rentals. Once they became involved, their team was professional, responsive and genuinely helpful. Lydia in particular took the time to look into my case, follow up on the situation and make sure the payment was eventually made to me.
Unfortunately, my experience with the Thessaloniki partner was extremely disappointing. The way the deposit was handled and the amount of time it took to resolve the issue were very frustrating. I believe situations like this can seriously affect the reputation and trust of Final Rentals.
Overall, it was a difficult experience and a long process, but I appreciate that Final Rentals ultimately took responsibility for helping me resolve the matter and that I have now received my refund.

Fantastic customer service!
When returning the car, no one was present. As agreed with the local rental company, we dropped the key into the mailbox. A few weeks later, we still hadn’t received our deposit back. We contacted FinalRentals: after a few emails, they made sure we received our deposit back, despite the fact that the local partner had ceased its operations and was no longer reachable.
Top service!!!

Final rentals customer service handled very professionally issue with their Greek subsidiary Planet Cars Rentals related to deposit partial refund. I hope in the future issues with their local affiliate can be prevented

I absolutely do not recommend this rental company and you should avoid this rental company by far. First: You will never get the car you chose. They don't even have one. Second: They CANNOT and DO NOT do a pre-authorization on your card (hold). They will deduct the money directly from your card and will not refund the deposit in full. They will keep 38.75 euros for bank charges that their bank probably charges them. But this is not your problem, but theirs! This is how they rip you off. They will make you sign a document that your bank can charge fees, but in the end only their bank charges fees! You will also get less money back due to the sale/purchase exchange rate if your account is not in euros. Never work with this rental company. The deposit is returned only after 35 days based on 3 phone calls. They have pictures of beautiful cars on DiscoversCars, but they don't actually have them. It doesn't matter what you choose and pay. He won't get it, but other inferiors will. I have filed a complaint with the Greek police, DiscoversCars and the European Consumer Centre, but nothing yet. Horrible experience.
Edit 18/09/2026: The owner of Final Cars stepped in to resolve the dispute and refunded my money today for the irresponsible branch in Thessaloniki. I would like to express my thanks.

This summer I used Car Jet searching to get a rental in Portugal. They provided a company called Final Rentals Rent A Car which was really close to the airport. All good, I paid the deposit with a view to pay the rest at the agency when collecting the car. When I was landing the agency started calling me, so when I answered they said I was supposed to pick up the car, my booking was from 6pm and I landed at 18:30, in my mind I booked the car so if I arrived an hour or two later it did not matter as I reserved the car for 18 days. The gentleman at the agency told me he needed to leave at 20:00 so I tried my best to get there on time, at 19:30 I was outside waiting for them to pick me up which he did reluctantly as they did not offer the pick up service. When I arrived to their office they claimed the booking had been cancelled by the system as it says in the T&Cs that I have to pick up the car withing 90 mins of the collection time. He then said the car had been released and I needed to do a new booking at the desk. At this stage I could see the exact same car I had the booking for in the car park outside the office so this didn't make sense to me. If I reserved the car for 18 days they should not release it to no one for those days as it is reserved, right?? anyway, originally I paid 88.61 euros online to reserve it and had to pay another 593 euros at the desk. He then said that if I wanted to book the same car I had to pay the car and their insurance which end up being £1,018.49 GBP. I was furious but having my wife and kid and being 8pm I did not have any other option other than agree and pay. I since contacted Car Jet for an explanation and hopefully a refund but so far it has been silence.
Final Rentals is not a good company and I do not recommended to anyone, they just managed to con me and take more money from me, I am still waiting for their final bill for the tolls so I hope there is no surprises.

The €600 deposit hasn't been returned at all; the rental company claims their bank account is blocked and that I have to arrange for the release of the funds myself through my own bank—though I’m not sure if that’s even possible.

SCAMMERS. BEWARE!
It's been almost 70 days and my €600 deposit still hasn't been refunded from the Thesselonaki-Greece office.
I've filed a chargeback with the bank and am awaiting a response. If I don't get my deposit back this way, I've contacted the consulate and they've referred me to a lawyer in Thessaloniki. I will initiate legal proceedings. I will pay the €600 to the lawyer if necessary, but I will not let this fraudulent company get away with it.
Every time I asked for my deposit back, I received similar evasive responses to those mentioned in the reviews here. Furthermore, as also mentioned, I was met late at the airport and my calls went unanswered.
This rental experience has been a lesson for me. From now on, I will never rent a car from any company without reading the reviews.

This outfit has partnerships with local rental services, in Chania it's another outfit called Apollo. It has no cars of its own.
Problems started when they refused to accept (a) Amex for the deposit (fair enough), (b) any other electronic card via contactless for the deposit and (c) a Mastercard in my wife's name even if she was added as a second driver, (d) their full security deposit by debit card.
We booked this in February for August. The only solution offered was to pay a further random 50Euro a day, or else cancel and rebook at August peak rates. I spoke with the owner on the phone who claimed that having a physical credit card in the name of the main renter was some kind of insurance requirement. Well if that's right it needs to be identified clearly in advance. Amazingly, the other customers also in the office had exactly the same issue and had to cancel their booking. Nobody wants to hear this kind of no-can-do rubbish on getting off a plane for their holiday.
Options offered were (a) get ferried back to the terminal in the hopes of finding a better deal (having just arrived, with kids, luggage etc), or (b) take an overpriced rental from Apollo, who is the local 'agent' for Final. Essentially the same outfit.
We did the latter. A barely functioning Fiat Panda with the warning lights on. Icing on the cake was on returning it, we were charged a cleaning fee because of some sand in the boot. They were unmoved by me pointing out that they had a vacuum cleaner whereas I, being a holidaying tourist, did not. Offering to vacuum it myself with their vacuum cleaner was turned down. The suggestion was; go to a petrol station and use their vacuum. This is an obvious scam because no company would rent out a car without cleaning it. You don't rely on your customers' varied cleaning skills for your business.

FinalRentals’ customer support was very professional and helpful in resolving an issue I had with a local rental operator and helping me recover my money.
I would be happy to give FinalRentals a 5-star rating for their support. However, I believe there is still work to be done to ensure that the local operators working through their platform are reliable and provide the level of service customers should expect.
I would consider renting through FinalRentals again in the future, but I would personally avoid the specific operator I dealt with in Thessaloniki, listed on Google Maps as Planet Cars.
If FinalRentals improves its control and selection of local partners, I would definitely consider increasing my rating in the future.
