LATE busses for my wedding
I am a bride who booked this bus service (2 busses) for my wedding. It picked guests up at the hotel before (myself and my husband went in a limo separately beforehand) and then brought everyone, including us, back to the hotel after the wedding.
I am very disappointed with this service, as the busses were late picking the guests up. I had the busses very clearly scheduled to arrive at the hotel for guest pickup at 3:50 and leave the hotel promptly at 4:00, to arrive at the wedding venue at 4:16 (16 minute drive) for 4:30 ceremony start time. That would give guests some time to say hi to others, find their seat, enjoy the drink bar I had set outside, get situated, etc.
I was shielded from the details on the day of, but have since come to learn that both busses were late arriving to pick guests up. The busses did not arrive at the hotel to begin pickup until 4:00. And they did not leave the hotel until 4:08. That, combined with traffic, and the guests did not arrive for the ceremony until 4:29. This did not give guests time to get situated as desired, etc. Guests felt rushed and the ceremony started a few minutes late, which took away from the live music I had hired for both the ceremony and cocktail hour, both of which I paid good money to perform for the full allotted time.
When the busses were late to arrive, one my guests told me that she asked the bus driver why he was late, and he made up a lie and said “we were told not to arrive at the venue any earlier than 4:30.”
That is a complete lie. The venue actually asked me if the busses could come even earlier, but I never called to make the switch. There is no way that is true. Anyway, why would they not want to arrive any earlier than the actual start time of a ceremony? That is obviously not truthful.
Furthermore, I had told all of my guests to be outside for the busses at 3:45 so that there were no stragglers and the busses could leave on time. It was not my guests holding up the service.
And even to add to this, because the busses were late, a few of my guests actually decided to drive themselves because they had lost faith in the service. That defeated the purpose of my hiring these busses.
I paid a lot of money to have these 2 busses perform this service. I even tipped the bus drivers because I was unaware of this until after the fact. I am not satisfied with this service, I do not think my money was well spent, and I would not recommend this company to others when asked. I feel that the service I paid more than $2,000 for was not delivered as was agreed to.
The only reason I give this service 2 stars instead of 1 is that the bus driver on the way home drove safely, and was on time for the return trip.
