BUYERS BEWARE OKA ripped me off and stood by it. I contacted the BBB for results.
BUYERS BEWARE — My Experience With Online Liquidation Auction (OLA)
I want other people considering buying from Online Liquidation Auction (OLA) to know what happened to me.
I paid approximately $262 for a gazebo through OLA. When I got it home and attempted to put it together, I discovered that it was not a complete gazebo.
It was missing the hardware needed to assemble it, the assembly instructions, and most importantly, THE ROOF. Without these essential parts, the gazebo I paid $262 for cannot be properly assembled or used for its intended purpose.
When I contacted OLA about the problem, instead of making this right, I was told that because I was outside their 30-day period, I get nothing.
I understand buying from a liquidation auction comes with risks, and I understand companies have policies. But this isn’t about me changing my mind or deciding I don’t like the item. I paid for a gazebo and received something that was missing major components necessary to make it a usable gazebo.
If the listing had clearly stated, “NO ROOF, NO HARDWARE AND NO ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS,” I certainly would not have bid $262 on it.
I believe customers deserve to know exactly what they are bidding on, particularly when major components are missing.
I am asking OLA to do what I believe is fair: either provide all of the missing parts necessary to make the gazebo complete and usable, or refund my $262.
Until this is resolved, I want other potential customers to know about my experience so they can make an informed decision before bidding with Online Liquidation Auction.
