Do NOT Use This Company

We had to cancel a flight that we had booked through Gurufare. Gurufare said that for an extra $300 the cost of that cancelled flight could be applied as a credit for a flight in the next six months to anywhere that airline flies. We paid the $300 only to learn when we tried to use it that the credit was available only for a flight with the same origin/destination. Gurufare's reply says that they sent two emails confirming their policy, one before and one after the charge. Our memory is that the charge was made after a phone call where the representative did not mention the limitation. We have reviewed our emails from Gurufare around this time and only see one email from them, the one sent after the charge. We are not asking for a refund of the cost of the flight we cancelled, just a refund of the $300 paid to secure a credit that turned out not to be usable in the way it was described.

Dear Peter,

After thoroughly investigating your reservation, we confirmed that the full guidelines on how to use your flight credit — including the requirement to keep the same routing — were shared with you twice via email. The first was sent when we requested your approval to process the travel credit fee, and the second was included in the confirmation email of your credit. These steps are part of the airline’s rules, and we make sure our customers are informed before any action is taken.

Our goal is always to assist within the boundaries of airline policies and provide clear, accurate information so you can make the best decision for your trip.

If you would like us to review anything further or clarify any part of the process, we’re here to help.

Regards,
Gurufare
