These shades are the best! If tou want pitch black in the middle of the day, look no further! The shades a packed and shipped very securely in custom made boxes and packing material; I guaranteed they will survive the harshest shipping conditions. The install is simple and takes about 30 minutes for the first shade and half that for additional units once over the initial learning curve. If you do have questions, the support it great and prompt.

I was extremely disappointed with my experience with UBlockout, particularly because of the irony of what happened.

Before placing my order, the company insisted on a video call to verify the measurements of my window frame. I was specifically told that their policy required a second person to assist me during the call, and that without someone helping me physically measure the window, I would not be eligible for a replacement if the product didn’t fit properly.

I explained that I didn’t have anyone available to help, but I proceeded with the video call anyway and carefully demonstrated my measurements to their representative, accurate to the nearest 1/16 of an inch.

After all that emphasis on precision and the company’s strict measurement requirements, imagine my surprise when the product arrived approximately 1¼ inches too short on one side! This wasn’t a tiny discrepancy or a matter of rounding. It was a substantial sizing error.

I contacted the company by email and explained the problem. Rather than acknowledging the discrepancy and working with me toward a resolution, they argued with me about the measurements. I even measured the actual product they sent to demonstrate that it was significantly shorter than the dimensions I had provided.

What frustrates me most is the double standard. They place an enormous burden on the customer to demonstrate accurate measurements, even warning that failure to follow their procedure could disqualify someone from receiving a replacement. Yet when their own product arrives with a significant dimensional error, they challenge the customer instead of taking responsibility.

For a company selling custom-fitted products, accuracy and customer service should be paramount. Unfortunately, my experience with UBlockout fell well short of those expectations.

I would strongly caution prospective customers to document every measurement and communication with this company.

It was everything I wanted it to be. Clear measurement and installation instructions, received the product quickly, was able to install it myself, and most importantly: it blocks out ALL of the light. The smart hub app even allowed me to put it on a timer so it closes up in the evening and opens on its own in the morning to let light in and wake me up naturally. An actual human emailed me within the week to ask how everything went and whether they could help with anything. If only every business operated this way...

Very happy with the quality, and with customer service: I had an issue with one of my U Blockout, I scheduled a call and we disassembled it, reassembled it, and fixed the issue along with an expert technician, that is indeed a great service being provided.

Retirement is finally here, and my absolute #1 priority was SLEEPING IN! But those basic builder-grade blinds were completely ruining it. Enter UBlockout—an absolute game-changer! I installed them in our master bedroom and the kids' rooms, and I literally could not be happier! They were incredibly easy to set up, work exactly as promised, and deliver 100% total pitch-black darkness. It's simply AMAZING! I'm an emergency medicine doc and have a rotating schedule. After a fair amount of research I settled on these for my sleep room, and I was so happy with them we've purchased others for our master bedroom and our kids' rooms. They were great to have this summer with the kids out of school; they never slept in until we installed these. 100% blackout. Highly recommended.

I really appreciated professional assistance in help measuring my windows to make sure the measurements were correct the first time. Installation was pretty easy. It does black out the entire room but easily lifts up for natural light.

This was my third purchase from uBlockout, and I can confidently say I’m just as impressed as I was with my first.

This installation had one unexpected hiccup. During the test run, the roller strings came off the blind. Looking back, I think my window frame was just slightly out of level, causing the roller to drift to one side. I immediately went into panic mode because I assumed I had ruined an expensive blind! Fortunately, your “How to Re-String Your Blind” video was excellent. It was clear, easy to follow, and had everything working again in just a few minutes.

What continues to stand out to me is the thoughtfulness behind your entire company. The product quality is outstanding, the installation process is well designed for homeowners, your support resources are genuinely useful, and even the packaging feels intentionally designed to reduce waste without sacrificing protection.

It might sound dramatic to say a window blind changed our lives, but for our family, it truly has. Between the adults and our young children, everyone sleeps better because the rooms stay genuinely dark regardless of the season. Better sleep has made a noticeable difference in our home, and that’s something I’m incredibly grateful for.

Thank you for building such a high-quality product and backing it with equally outstanding customer support. It’s rare to find a company that puts this much thought into every part of the customer experience.

Really good customer service they walk you through the entire process they have informative videos to follow along that make the installation process fairly easy. One other thing about these screens that I don't know anyone else has thought about is that they can be projected on at least the white ones I have been using it to go through old family slides and since the room is already dark it's perfect.

Total BLACKOUT!!! My kids have been wanting blackout shades for sometime now. Decided to go with uBlockout being that theyre made in the USA! The guarantee fit option is a great way to get the shades to fit the first time! Easy instructions on how to install and the blinds are AMAZING! My kids are excited to sleep in this summer! These shades are the ONLY blackout solution that actually works. Sure, they are not the cheapest, but you pay for the quality! I spent... no, wasted hundreds of dollars trying to find a solution that would work for my baby who was very sensitive to light. The shade we have in her nursery now has been a game changer for her, and our sleep. I cannot recommend them more! Not only is the product great, but the customer service is stellar as well. They are responsive, helpful, kind, and made everything super easy. My husband had no issues installing the shade as well. All around, 10/10!

Wow! Just wow! I ordered five motorized UBLOCKOUT shades to cover 6' windows that were letting in way too much light day and night. From start to finish, what a tremendous experience. These shades ABSOLUTELY do as advertised---they block out 100% of the light...period. From start to finish, I had my shades up in under 2 weeks. Perfection...what in this day and age is perfection? UBLOCKOUT is perfection. They are made in America, precision cut and are of the highest quality. Expensive, yes, but you get what you pay for and you will not be disappointed. You deserve the best. I have installed hundreds of blinds in my career, these are easy to assemble and install. Great video instructions. Absolutely no light coming through once installed. Overall great product. Good job Ublockout!

Might sound weird, but I've always wanted to have a combo of blackout darkness for sleeping, but then being able to wake up to the sun in my face. Automated shades were the only solution I could think of. Love this product so far. No light leakage and best customer service I've ever seen. And has all the automated features I've always wanted. If I want to talk about any downsides, I'd say: 1) Expensive, 2) Setup wasn't the easiest—partly because of how my room was setup and partly because I did it on my own.

I was afraid the sound of the shade opening might wake me up too soon in the morning. It did for the first two nights, but I adjusted and haven't woken up to the sound ever since.

Overall, I'm really happy so far!

We couldn't be any happier with our blinds! Don't trust any of those other guys you see on Instagram! These guys are the real deal. The product is amazing. Great looking, well made and 100% blackout. Their customer service is stellar. We experienced a small issue as a result of shipping (UPS), contacted customer service on a Sunday (yes a Sunday!) and they walked us through fixing the pulley string. It worked like a charm. No issues! I feel like these are the last blinds we'll ever need!

They made the shades perfectly. There is no light leakage at all. The product is made of premium parts and is easy to install. Overall a great product and experience.

Immediately upon opening the box it was obvious that this was a high quality product based on the thick gauge of the aluminum to the heavy blind material and how each part was well marked. I payed extra for the guaranteed fit and the individual I spoke with during the video measuring process was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Aside from quality my greatest concern was installation...would I be able to do a proper install? With the online video instructions I was able to do what I feel was a professional install. I have worked nights for over 25 years as a truck driver and to finally have a blind that will keep my room dark when I need it to be is exciting. The reality is...this could change my life as getting good sleep is crucial to my short and long term health.

I've had trouble sleeping for as long as I can remember. Since getting the UBlockout shades, my sleep has improved so much!

The shades do exactly as advertised. Completely blockout light and they are pretty easy to put together. The quality is pretty impressive as you’ll notice when assembling them. I have both motor and non motor versions and they all work great. I also have all mine hooked up to Alexa so I can voice control them. Would 100% recommend.
