Formal Complaint
Formal Complaint – Repeated Failed Deliveries and Stolen Parcel
How many times do I have to complain about lazy, dishonest and completely irresponsible courier drivers before somebody actually takes notice and does something about it?
The delivery photograph clearly shows that my parcel was left in a public foyer on the ground floor of my building, which is absolutely not a secure location. I am disabled and have serious mobilityimage0.jpeg difficulties, meaning I cannot simply go downstairs to retrieve parcels that drivers cannot be bothered to deliver properly.
When I eventually managed to ask somebody to go down and check for the parcel, it had disappeared. It had been stolen.
This is not an isolated incident. I have complained repeatedly about exactly the same problem, yet nothing seems to change. To make matters worse, you don’t even have the courtesy to respond to my complaints.
I am thoroughly fed up with this appalling level of service and the complete disregard shown towards disabled customers.
I expect a proper response, a full refund or replacement for the stolen parcel, and an explanation of what action you intend to take to prevent this happening again.
Leaving parcels unattended in a publicly accessible area is not an acceptable delivery service, and I should not have to keep fighting to get something done about it.
Amazon must be the worst delivery…
Amazon must be the worst delivery people ever, they throw the parcels on the front doorstep in full view of every one from the street in the rain. It doesn’t matter how many times you complain and repeatedly tell them where to leave the parcels, this company ignores anything its customers say.

it was electonic items, but Amazon just don't care.

I want to make readers aware of…
I want to make readers aware of Amazon’s delivery service and how it treats customers. To be clear, Amazon is responsible for the problem. Many customers complain, yet Amazon does not protect them by holding delivery drivers accountable.
Last year, I contacted Amazon after parcels were left on a neighbour’s waste ground, despite clear instructions on my door explaining where they could be left safely to prevent theft or damage. I arrived home around midnight, collected them and took them into my kitchen. To my horror, one parcel had burst open, releasing slaters and other unpleasant crawlies across my clean kitchen. I then spent two hours moving my white goods so I could clean and disinfect the room.
When I called Amazon the next morning, the customer service representative appeared to be reading from a script: “Yes, madam, I understand. Madam, it won’t happen again.”
During August and September this year, I placed several orders. Some arrived, one was smashed to pieces and others never reached me. I was surprised to see online that the missing parcels had been left on my front steps, even though I had told Amazon that this is a high-crime area. After I reported that the parcels had been stolen, Amazon sent me an email asking me to review the items I had not received. This response suggested that my message had not been properly understood.
A few weeks ago, I saw a private car stop outside my home. A man got out carrying Amazon parcels, and by the time I reached the door, he had left them on my steps.
When I picked them up, I realised they were not mine. The driver had not only gone to the wrong street but also to the wrong district.
I reached the car as he was pulling away and tried to return the parcels so they could be delivered to the correct customer. Instead, the driver arrogantly insisted, “Yes, yes, yes—your parcels.” His English was limited. When I told him to take them back and deliver them to the right address, he became animated, snatched them from me and threw them into the car. I hope there was nothing fragile inside; I was appalled that my honesty was met with such fury. My warning to Trustpilot readers, especially as the busy season approaches, is that clear delivery instructions do not guarantee that an order will arrive safely.
I now expect to bear the financial loss because Amazon did not leave my parcels in a safe place. Its response also makes it clear that my messages were not read carefully or treated with concern.
I should add that our area has a regular driver, Andrew. Whenever he delivers parcels, he leaves them in the correct place or gives them to a trusted neighbour. Other drivers do not have the same respect for our items. So read this, please and watch for any response; it will be similar to most reviews, cut and pasted from a template. Buyer beware. AND I FINISH BY WRITING THAT IT IS CLEAR FROM ALL THE POSTS THAT AMAZON ARE NOT HOLDING THE COMPANY ACCOUNTABLE FOR THIS
Had a order from total fishing tackle…
Had a order from total fishing tackle got lost or stolen I would say stolen then had a replacement sent and was damaged in transit had to be sent back absolutely useless driver hardly speak a word of English. From now on won’t be buying anything from anyone how uses Amazon delivery
Amazon Parcel Dumping Encourages Theft
Unless the goods can be posted through the customer's letterbox, parcels are simply dumped by front doors without the driver ever knocking on the door to hand the parcel to the customer. The theft of parcels because of this practice has been well publicised yet Amazon persists with this means of delivery.
Amazon delivery is getting worse and…
Amazon delivery is getting worse and worse. The companies they accept, constantly problems with items not delivered, but the companies lie. I am soo disappointed and have to think only using Amazon if really necessary. The time I am wasting to chase parcels, send emails, call customer service....The companies lie, sorry, say delivered and it IS NOT. Those companies should be struck off immediately, but they keep them on....
False promises
Could not give no star was given a delivery date of Wednesday it is now Friday still no parcel the company is a joke there full of false problems
Awful
Awful. They got bored trying to deliver my Nespresso £95 worth of coffee pods so just abandoned them. Nowhere near the address, literally just placed them by some unmarked wooden fencing and walked off as they couldn’t be bothered to actually locate my work address. Fantastic thank you so much.
Genuinely, if you want good Customer Service feedback do not use these couriers as you will not have Happy clients.
Just leaving parcels on the door step…
Just leaving parcels on the door step with plain instructions to put through gate left outside for public access to take not good at all
Amazon deliveries and drivers
The reason people usually write reviews is because they are unhappy with the Service. Just what is happening to Amazon delivery?
- Is it the people who are making the deliveries who are not taking the job seriously,
- is it that they just don’t care,
- is it that some are untrustworthy
- or are able to please themselves what and when they make deliveries
Or
- is it that whoever does the planning of these deliveries is getting it wrong
- that prime members are being told the items are out of delivery but they are not there to be loaded for delivery.
Or.
Is it the pressure they are under from Amazon to deliver too many parcels in too short a time frame?
The number of times over recent months that we have been told a package is out for delivery at a certain time and we have tracked it, to either
-not receive the package at all
- For it to not to be delivered at all and just disappear from tracking
- For it to delivered late at night and just left on the doorstep in full view of the road, the driver having made no attempt to ring the doorbell or knock on the door
- and even stating that the parcel has been handed to the resident when it hasn’t.
Parcels are regularly left on the doorstep even though there is an instruction as to delivery and it is obvious that the residents are there because there are cars on the drive! They cannot be bothered to ring the bell.
I have reported this to Amazon Customer Service each time and they have said they will speak to their Delivery Manager, but it is still happening and I obviously wasted my time and trouble.
“Some” of the drivers just do not care and are very unprofessional. At my age I do not want to be opening my door very late at night when I can see there is nobody there, which means the parcel could have been left there all night; open to the street and vulnerable to the weather conditions and passers-by. They turn round in people’s driveways when there is a perfectly good place to do so at the bottom of the cut-desac, run across their lawns and leave parcels at the wrong house. These are not one-offs but regular occurrences. They leave their cars in the middle of the road unnecessarily, with lights on and the engine running at all times of the day and night.
As for the regular tv advert regarding the £3,000 a year for training, then their time and money would be better spent training the drivers in customer care in order to do their job properly.
I have a video of my latest delivery which shows the driver running up to my door. quickly dropping the parcel on the step and taking his photo and running down the drive. No attempt to ring the bell or knock on the door. Had it not been for the outside light coming on we would not have known he had been.
I am sorry Amazon you need to get your act together and sort this otherwise you could lose a lot of customers if this continues. If I could have given no stars at all I would have done.
I want to give half a star but trust…
I want to give half a star but trust pilot does not let me do that.
Customer services are disgusting, rude robotic and a waste of time. Ive asked multiple times for my deliveries to be put down the side of the house, CS told me to write a detailed delivery instructions, obviously the drivers still ignored this yet I still have to beg CS for refunds, ive now been asked to take a photo of the delivery location because obviously their delivery drivers cannot read !!
Just terrible.
Poor Service
This is an extremely poor service.
I paid extra for next-day delivery for a parcel that was expected today. The full address and postcode were clearly provided, yet the Amazon driver failed to deliver it.
This is not the first time. On a previous occasion, the driver left my parcel in an unsecured and highly visible location where it could have been easily taken by any passer-by.
For a company that charges a premium for delivery, this standard of service is completely unacceptable. If you cannot provide reliable and secure customer service, what exactly is your purpose?
Parcel was left outside a flat not…
Parcel was left outside a flat not surprised that it wasn’t there when I arrived home Amazon driver claims he left it in a safe place! Impossible to contact Amazon and actually speak to a person review submitted but no response as yet
I purchased shirts from a supplier and…
I purchased shirts from a supplier and they used Amazon to deliver. Amazon said they would deliver on Sunday )Tomorrow) They delivered today. I was in didn't hear them knock at the door or ring my bell. because they didn't. I found the package inadvertently They just left it. Not the first time this has happened though you do get a picture of the package they just left which you can pick up if no one gets it before you see it. So for me that is not a delivery service if they do not actually deliver to me! They don not do very well do they?
Great product, dodgy delivery
The product my OH ordered was perfectly good, but the delivery was almost a disaster. I heard someone knocking on my neighbour's door and knowing I was expecting an Amazon delivery, looked out and saw a chap with an Amazon box chuck it back into the van. I went out and asked him if he had a delivery for my address as I was expecting one, and he realised that it was actually meant for me. I mentioned that my order was in glass bottles and that he'd just thrown the box into the back of the van. He therefore asked me to open it to make sure it was ok, which it was, fortunately. He had originally marked the delivery as "undeliverable" with another attempt to be made the next day (when we would be out all day!) but then changed it to "handed to resident". It's a bit off when someone can't even read the numbers on the door, and treats potentially breakable objects so roughly.
