We use several Ryobi 40V tools in our home, including the electric lawn mower, leaf blower, and weed trimmer. The blower and trimmer have been great — they’re easy to use, have plenty of power for... See more

Battery failed on my Ryobi 40V electric…
Battery failed on my Ryobi 40V electric lawn mower, which I bought 19 months ago - so it's still under warranty. I had to go through a long, tedious process to make a claim under the warranty. And instead of doing the logical and fair thing -- sending me a new battery--Ryobi requires that the faulty battery be sent back for repair! which will take weeks, of course. In the meantime, how and I supposed to mow my lawn? I ordered a replacement battery from Amazon. Ryobi should reimburse me for that expense.
Purchased a outside vac in mid…
Purchased a outside vac in mid September after fixing it together found it did not work phoned up ryobi was told they would arrange for Dpd to pick ut up and I could have my money back got in touch with Ryobi in early October and was told money would be returned to my bank account within 3 to 5 days no money was returned been in touch again now they are stating the vac as gone missing via DPd returning it and an investigation as to take place but I've got a return slip off Dpd and surely it's not my fault in anyway so why can't I be given my money back when it's no fault if mine so Ryobi please note shall not be using your firm again your glad to take a person's order and their money but not very helpful when it comes to returning their money
Website advertises a price no one can actually pay
Ryobitools.com lists the 40V HP 20" Self-Propelled Mower Kit (RY40HPLM07K) at a "new lower price" of $399, down from $459. Ryobi doesn't sell it. Checkout sends you to Home Depot, the only seller, which charges $459 and won't match $399. The only disclosure is small print in the cart calling $399 an "estimate." Advertising a reduced price that isn't available anywhere is misleading. Check Home Depot's actual price before you trust anything on Ryobi's site.
Absolutely useless good at delivering…
Absolutely useless good at delivering stuff when parting with your money, but trying to return something is impossible, no reply’s after a week also no one talk to crap customer service
AVOID
Defective batteries and replacements
Ryobi sent me a defective 80v battery as a replacement for the original battery that was also defective but still under warranty. Called their support line and was told they do not have to send a non-defective battery as a replacement since it was a "courtesy" replacement. Totally unethical company to deal with. Long hold times and very rude customer service to boot. Avoid at all costs or you'll regret it withing a few months when your tools start breaking after hardly using it.
Customer Support is Fast But Useless
I bought a Ryobi mower in 2020 and mowed a VERY small patch of grass with it for 4 years and this year I have mowed like 3 times b/c we're in a drought. Point being, limited use. And a part broke and it controls the mechanism that lowers and raised the blade height.
A quick search on Google shows that is a common problem meaning that the company sold mowers with a defective part for some time.
It looks like a complicated fix and I don't have any mower shops that close by.
Could RYOBI send me a new part? Yes. Did they? No.
It's out of warranty. It's a pretty cheap metal part and from my standpoint they could have sent me a new one (as many people online said they will).
Why does this matter? B/c if you can't have decent support there's no need to continue buying from the brand. It would have made a big difference if they extended this courtesy.

Had great help from Enrico and Dennis at Ryobi Montague Gardens. My 25 year old chain saw needed a new part, and they even though this model is discontinued, they searched and found a part that worked, thanks guys.
Repair parts not avaiable
Cheap Chinese junk
Cheap Chinese junk. After using it three times the extending pole hedge cutter stopped operating. Website does not tell you how to return it. I also foolishly ordered the body harness. Complete waste of money, too flimsy to be any use.
EDIT
To be fair to Ryobi they sent DPD to pick up the trimmer and refunded me in full, fairly promptly, so I can’t complain about the service.
Perfect service
Happy customer!!!
I had gotten a Ryobi generator and the end of July from home depot. When we went to start it up it did not work no spark nothing.. so I did a review and within a couple hours I got a call from the rep from RYOBI. They said was going to replace my generator for the next size up. They kept me up to date on when was goung to be delivered at no charge.. well it came today and I am pleased to say we're glad we delt with them. And pleased at hour they handled our problem
What a bunch of scammers this company…
What a bunch of scammers this company is. They INTENTIONALLY create their TRIMMER SPOOLS very weak and easy to break so you keep buying more of them.
This is a dishonest company. Never buying their products again.
Purchased a new Ryobi electric mower on…
Purchased a new Ryobi electric mower on July 24, 2026. The two electric batteries had no charge when the box was opened. The batteries charged most of the day and eventually I was able to mow. However, after only one mow, neither battery would charge again and displayed as defective.
Took the mower back to Home Depot but they would not exchange it and stated I must contact Ryobi directly of which I did the first week of August. The representative over the phone stated they would send new batteries. It is now September and still not batteries. Have been a month without a mower and have had to hire the yard mowed twice.
I must say, I am disappointed with Ryobi and now upset at their lackadaisical attitude helping their customers. I will not purchase another product from Ryobi like this. So disappointed. Ashamed I didn’t purchase a gas mower instead.
Told by Ryobi “can’t find part” Wow
RY142500 had a simple threaded brass cap vibrate off below the water hose connection. After an hour on the phone with customer service and their parts supplier Order Tree, I was told they can’t find the cap, but since it’s under warranty they’d replace the entire pump. The only place to repair is over a hundred miles one way. I even sent a picture. Live and Learn, first and my last Ryobi purchase. Choose wisely.
Terrible customer service
The product was just ok, my bigger issue with RYOBI is their customer service/warranty. They are giving me the run around on my weed whacker that broke and I’m assuming it is because it is a discontinued model and they don’t want to send a new one. I have been waiting 1 month for a shipping confirmation email of the replacement, I don’t think they are ever actually going to send it. The process for even submitting the claim was annoying, finding the model numbers and serial numbers, then submitting a video of what is wrong with the product and then they turned around and told me I needed to take it to the closet service repair center (55min away). When I sent an email ripping them a new one I received an email saying they will send a shipping confirmation email when the product ships. I’m actually not even entirely sure they they are sending a new one cause no actually said they were replacing it, they email just said I will receive another email with shipping info. That email had nothing about what was being sent.
I will never buy another Ryobi product…
I will never buy another Ryobi product again did not warranty 80 v battery. It fell within the five years all because I didn’t have a receipt who hold onto the receipts for five years. They asked multiple times for videos and serial numbers. I gave it to them and they just dragged it out and dragged it out don’t waste your time buying anything from this company.
