Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 299 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Consumers expressed deep frustration regarding unhelpful customer service teams, long telephone hold times, and automated phone systems that made resolving simple account and device problems extremely difficult. Many buyers frequently complained that hardware components malfunctioned unexpectedly, security cameras constantly went offline, and subscription models restricted essential protection features. However, some customers also noted that a few support representatives provided genuinely helpful assistance and certain replacement items continued to function properly over time. These individuals experienced smooth installations and truly appreciated when replacement equipment finally arrived to resolve their initial frustrating hardware failures.

Waste of money

The solar charger quit working after about one year. Cameras cut out constantly. Ring is always telling you to buy other devices to make the cameras stay connected, so I bought a top of the line router to correct the problem and they still don’t stay connected. I spent almost $1,000.00 on the equipment and cameras from ring. What a waste of money! The best advice that I could give anyone, don’t buy ring it’s junk.

I rate it a 1 because there is no 0

I rate it a 1 because there is no 0. I have the fastest wifi available and a top router. Full wifi service bars where the ring doorbell is installed and still the new device keeps disconnecting from wifi.
Going to return this pos and try another brand.

Broke down immediately Horrible customer service

Horrible customer service. The device SUDDENLY broke down after 3 months and I legitimately thought someone broke in to my house so I cut my trip short and immediately drove home.I called them and they tried to fix it for an hour on the phone and couldn’t and told me that they would send a replacement and I would have to return the one I have so I said ok. I waited 10 days and haven’t received anything so I called them back to check on it. They told me they never processed the order?!! They never sent an email or instructions after the first phone call and now they’re telling me I need to send the device back, wait for it to be processed at the warehouse for 30 days and send a new device after. I told them I do not want to move forward with this ridiculous process and they said there’s nothing they could do. I do not want to trust my home security with this company but they will not refund me for my devices. So now my house doesn’t have a camera or doorbell for 1,5 months and they were NO HELP at all although this is completely a fault of their defective product. Stay away

RING HAS GOTTEN WAAAY TOO GREEDY.

My first ring camera allowed me to at least SEE who was at the door without a subscription. The two that my daughter bought me since then won't do a anything but tell me someone is there
No picture of the motion locally. I know they won't STORE and give me access to that but I should be able to see it locally LIKE I CAN with my older one.
Pretty ridiculous that they took that away, and WON'T ALLOW REVIEWS WITHOUT AN APP.
So here is my review for ring. Less than 1 you GREEDY Bstrds!
Plenty of other companies selling these now.

poor choice

A really poor choice for surveillance cameras. It is a company that exists solely to take your money; if you don't pay, you get nothing, and escaping their clutches is impossible—they just keep taking money from your account.
There are plenty of good alternatives out there that don't cost a fortune for such poor service.

Designed their app to advertise instead of function well

I’ve had a paid plan for many years. Recently they added a bunch of premium AI features for more money which I had no interest in. Then they redid their app interface to have buttons for those premium features, and to make room for them they moved features I actually use behind other hidden menus. So now it takes more work to use the features that have been in my plan all along, and I have permanent advertising for things I don’t want using up the screen space that used to be a convenient UI. If I say I don’t want to upgrade then stop trying to force it and make the app worse for me until I do. Lots of other issues with them and their support too, but this was just the latest

Poor customer service

Not sure if this one deals with the UK, but hey according to ring they are one company. My husband used their chat service and explained our ring devices went off line and after the advised reset still wasn’t working. He spoke to a handler called Deione who asked him to reset all the devices and come back to them once he did, the agent then ended and left the chat. My husband contacted the chat again to get another agent Jesse who asked for his details all over again, and told him to reset everything, then when 8pm hit they abruptly ended the chat altogether with no option to save the chat and with no explanation. We followed the complaints procedure just to be told by their chatbot that it cannot handle or process complaints! What an utter joke of a service! They are happy to take your money but clearly unhappy to provide a good customer service!

New camera failed - Warranty is a joke

This company is the worst!

I had a floodlight camera that I purchased through Home Depot fail after less than a month. After an hour of chat “help” I was finally granted a replacement. I was told I would receive the replacement and then had 30 days to return my defective unit. Now they are stating I have to return mine first and then in 30+ days (AFTER they receive mine) they will send my new one.

Why would I want to be without a camera for 30+days?? Worst of all I paid an electrician $150 to install the first camera. Now I will have to pay an electrician $150 to install the second camera. AND…$150 to take the old one down in between.

I am absolutely shocked at how much this company doesn’t care about their customers. I’m canceling my subscription and selling these cameras on eBay. I know Ring doesn’t care about me as a customer but I refuse to give them my hard earned money.

Customer service non existent

Customer service non existent. Only AI, BOTS, and CSA's who rely on scripted responses. No follow up by supervisors or tech support as promised. This has been a continuing process since July 2026 to date.

Would not recommend.

Ring's Wi-Fi connectivity is absolutely dreadful.

It's 2026, and somehow Ring still can't keep a security camera reliably connected to Wi-Fi. My camera randomly disconnects despite no changes to my network, and reconnecting it is a frustrating process that often takes multiple attempts.

What makes it worse is that this isn't a new issue. After years of updates, upgrades, and customer complaints, Ring still hasn't solved one of the most basic requirements of a security camera: staying connected.

A security camera that constantly loses connection is about as useful as a doorbell with no door.

Expensive, unreliable, and incredibly frustrating. I expected much better from a company this size.

Would not recommend.

8 Days of Missing Recordings!

8 Days of Missing Recordings!

I have 6 Ring cameras, and 8 days of camera history were missing, from 17 to 24 September.
I went through around 4 different support agents. I was told that one camera had a weak internet connection, but despite repeatedly asking, nobody would explain why the recordings were also missing from my other 5 cameras.
One agent even suggested that the problem was caused by my internet and recommended that I buy another Ring product to improve the connection, supposedly to prevent my recordings from disappearing again. Instead of investigating why 8 days of security footage were missing, I was being encouraged to spend more money.
Several agents also ended the chat claiming there had been more than 5 minutes of inactivity, when in fact I was waiting for them to respond.
Finally, I asked for a reference number for the unresolved conversation, and the agent refused to provide one.
I pay a subscription specifically to have access to my security recordings. 8 days missing across 6 cameras, around 4 agents, no proper explanation and no resolution.
I have now cancelled my subscription.

Five calls, five refusals of the legal warranty. Avoid Ring.

My Ring device died, in my view a textbook case of planned obsolescence.

What followed was worse. Five times I called support, including a supervisor, and five times they refused to honour the 3-year legal warranty that applies to every consumer in Spain. It's also written in Ring's own terms and conditions. Every time, they tried to push me onto their shorter commercial warranty, as if the law didn't apply to them.

Their "solution" was a 30% discount plus €8, presented as special treatment. It was insulting.

The agents didn't know their own terms, and the supervisor was no better. Only after I read them their own 3-year clause did they suddenly offer a replacement. It took more calls and repeatedly citing my legal rights before they agreed to a full refund and cancelled my cloud subscription.

Incompetent support, a bad-faith attempt to replace consumer law with a weaker commercial warranty, and hardware that doesn't last. If you're in Spain, know your rights, because Ring won't tell you. I'm switching to a competitor and I'd recommend you do the same.

Customer service is horrible!

Customer service is horrible!! I just spoke with 3 different agents and neither were able to help. It was so frustrating. I have a new number and just needed my phone number updated. They tried walking me through doing so on my end, which I tried so much, that it told me I was no longer able to verify or authenticate. I tried explaining this to them and they are still trying to send me links and have me go through the same process, that will not allow me to proceed! Eventually, I just said thank you and ended the call, because it was so frustrating! I’m boing to go through a different security system and good riddance!

Wretched Ring

Welcome to 2026! Where every major corporation purposefully creates the worst f**cking (also f**ck you TP, "inappropriate" language?!, maybe stop promoting 11th century bourgeoisie propagated by christian nationalist classist propaganda) experience you could possibly imagine and calls it business.

Ring is no exception. Somehow still the best consumer security on the market, their AI and outsourced "customer service" will leave you wanting to drill a hole through your skull. Whether its cameras that just die for no reason, software bugs that make zero sense, or straight up your security system decides your code no longer works and now you need to start completely over to disable a blaring alarm.

So you contact their generative AI assistant that might as well be a a chatbot from 2005, and then get transferred to outsourced agents who are handling 20 other chats and take 5-10 minutes to respond with nothing useful. You fail to respond for 1 minutes though and BAM! You're disconnected and have to start all over.

Buyer beware: This part is not replaceable, and you may be responsible for having to buy a whole new device!!

My Ring Floodlight Cam still works. A physical component failed, and Ring confirmed they do not sell that specific replacement part. This part is visible in the photo. It is a ball joint of some sort. When trying to move the camera, it would not move so the camera broke away from it so now it just dangles there.
Their proposed solution was for me to buy an entirely new camera, with a 35% discount, even though the existing camera itself still functions. Replacing it also means removing and reinstalling a hardwired device. I think buyers should know that some physical components are not individually replaceable, so a relatively small failure can effectively force replacement of the entire unit.

NO SOUND ALERT WHEN ON THE PHONE

Ring is pretty good except when you are on the phone, your bell doesn't ring out for you to hear it. If you're not watching for the pop-up on your phone, someone could be at your door and you won't even know it. Just like a call can come through while you're on the phone, Ring should be able to still sound "alert" you.
My phone is always on speaker and I'm walking around talking to people on the phone so I can't be watching a screen for a pop-up.

Camera is too limited

We purchased a ring camera for inside the house. I'm frustrated because another company we bought many cameras from gives you past pictures you can look back on if needed. You dont need to pay a subscription to see the hours of the past activity. Photos of activity are just part of the camera at no extra cost.
Ring gives you no past pictures unless you purchase a subscription. So unless you see an event at that exact moment you have no idea what happened. I'm planning to not use the ring camera and instead purchase another from the other company.
