Installed Millboard decking 5 years ago and still looks brand new. Also had cause to contact them for a few spare screws and got first class service. Friendly and prompt. Glad we spent the extra on Millboard. Highly recommend.

Product information and Millboard…
Product information and Millboard response to queries before purchase could not be faulted, but the product itself, now installed, raises a few concerns. The boards hold water and remain ponded for lengthy periods after rain, the boards seem to be more prone to movement than the wood equivalents and we have an edge of uneven board ends, the undersides of the board are of an inconsistent finish and an eyesore.

Thank you for the lovely comments on our pre-purchase service, and for being so open about how things have settled in since installation. Your home is in such an outstanding setting, and I completely understand why you want the deck to be perfect for it.
A quick word on what you've raised: water sitting on the surface is more common when the boards are new, and this is normal for Millboard, easing as the boards weather in and drainage takes effect. On movement, we'd still like to understand what you're seeing. I did try calling today to talk it through. The board ends are best finished with an edge board, as previously discussed, or with our Touch-Up Paint as an alternative. And for the back of the boards and the timber joists underneath, a coat of paint or some simple soffit boarding would tidy that up nicely. We're happy to talk with Tom, your installer, to help.

Great product and great service and delivery. Colouring of the boards seems a little thin, as you can see the base colour, so not as good as thought.

On the colouring, that's actually by design. Millboard boards are hand coloured to capture the same natural, random tonal variation you'd see in real timber, so it's normal for some of the base colour to come through here and there, that's part of what gives the boards their authentic, characterful finish rather than a flat, uniform look. It's a manual process for exactly that reason, so each board feels genuine rather than mass produced.

By far the best decking product on the market and I have used them all over the last 25 years, installing decks all over north Devon.
Yes it’s expensive but you get what you pay for!

We have received so many compliments on the cladding, there are lots of cheaper composite cladding but don’t waste your money, pay for the best you will not be disappointed.

All this gave me great confidence in the product. I found an accredited builder through the website and discussion with him finalised my decision. I don’t regret it.
