Package to Hawaii and paid to upgrade…
I booked a package to Hawaii and paid to upgrade to an ocean view room. When I got there, the hotel had given the room away. When I asked for a credit, the hotel referred me back to Great Value Vacations. All my inquiries to customer service have ended up in a black hole with no response.

This is the worst company ever…
This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. One agent, Tina, is the worst individual I have ever dealt with; belligerent, nasty and would not let me get a word in. We did not take the trip, forfeited something over $1,400, but decided not to throw good money after bad. Great Value Vacations should be put out of business.

All inclusive was the real deal.
Air fare, hotel, transportation, taxes and fees all taken care of exactly as they were listed. One price and all the details were taken care of. Hotel was excellent. Five stars for this deal is definitely deserved.

Room not paid for, two days before arriving.
We were supposed to get a room number and code two days before arriving. We did not get it, so we called the hotel in Iceland. They said the room was not paid for so they were not giving out any information. We paid for our trip in July. We did get the information two days after we left on our trip.

Easy process, beautiful resorts!
Booking was simple and the package delivered exactly what was described. The company provided a portal with all of the necessary travel documents and everyone (airlines, car rental and hotels) pulled up our reservations without issue. The hotels were beautiful and looked exactly (or better) than they were portrayed in the pictures.

Denmark, Norway & Sweden
While the vacation itself was enjoyable and the hotel in Denmark was in a great location with friendly and helpful staff, the room was extremely small. It was an efficiency room with barely enough space for two carry-on bags, forcing us to keep one on the floor.
Unfortunately, the hotel in Sweden was even more disappointing. Although the location was acceptable, the room was in the basement, there was a water bug on the floor, and there was very limited space for luggage. Because of the bug, we were uncomfortable placing our bags on the floor. In addition, the staff was not as friendly or helpful, and the breakfast quality was poor.
Overall, the hotel accommodations fell far below our expectations and negatively affected the trip.

Resort was beautiful- not all costs were disclosed
Loved the vacation destination. It was definitely a very nice resort but plan on it costing an additional $400-$500. I didn't love the discrepancies in what we thought we booked (and what was included) along with what wasn't included. For example, the information on the GV site shows, one personal item and one carry on bag allowed on the flights. Only after we packed, did we find out by calling GV (and they didn't know) and finally, the airline, that it was an additional $440 round trip to add our carryon bag for 2 people, along with our seat selection. (The seat selection was $100 of the $440, round trip) We also were given no instructions that we had to check in with our transfer service from the airport to the resort, and from the resort back to the airport, and how to do that. (there is an app that has to be downloaded) Another issue was, that nowhere was it mentioned, nor did anyone contact us prior to departure to let us know about the Visitor Tax to Cancun, so we were very stressed out as we were on our phones trying to pay it while we boarded the plane to depart to our destination. I think we wound up paying it to a bogus site because we never got the code they were supposed to send us in case we got stopped and asked for it when in the airport in Cancun. I think there needs to be a phone call or an email or something, that goes over all of this in enough time that you can download the proper apps, arrange for your additional fees for the carry on luggage etc. The person on the phone at GV Vacations did not know if our fare included carry on luggage, even though the chart said that it did. They asked us to call the airline and said all airlines are different. I said, if that's the case, why does your website show that the carry on is included? It should say, "contact the airline". We were unprepared for the additional cost. So, you should be aware, if you fly Frontier, it will cost you extra per person, each way to carry 1 pc of carry on luggage per passenger to the tune of $340 for 2 people for the round trip flight. This doesn't include any preferred seating selection. The additional taxes we paid were over $55 for the Visitor Tax to visit Cancun.

The numerous changes that occurred…
The numerous changes that occurred after we booked would have caused us to not have picked this particular vacation. Several of the tours we booked were changed not just by time by days. Our flights changed and caused much longer travel days.We had to follow up on a refund that still has not been issued which we’d questioned before the vacation started two weeks ago. There were just several things that really would’ve made me reconsider taking this vacation.

We just got back from our trip to the Azores!
We just got back from our trip to the Azores and we had a great time. Highly recommend this trip to anyone who wants to experience the “Hawaii of Europe!”
The trip takes you to 3 of the 9 Azore islands. Very beautiful lush scenery and crystal clear waters. Hot springs, lava tube tunnels, running with the bulls in Terceira, these beautiful islands have something for everyone!

We just returned from our trip…
We just returned from our trip yesterday. We had an amazing time. The only real problem we had was trying to book our B&Bs in Ireland and Scotland. Twice we called Great Value Vacations, the first time the girl was rude and basically made us feel like they got our money and now we are on our own. We contacted email given to us in case we had issues trying to book our rooms online. I sent them three emails and not once did anyone contact me back. We got very frustrated. Luckily the Circle answered me back the second day and had our accommodations booked. They were wonderful. We decided that if we take another trip anywhere, it'll be through a travel agency that is willing to help us through the process. Luckily for us we actually got help from a local travel agent who had nothing to do with the Great Value Vacations. We spent a lot of money on a once in a lifetime trip and should've been able to contact GVV for help. We wouldn't use them again.
