About Drift

Written by the company

What is Drift?

Written by the company

Drift is a premium car air freshener subscription service rethinking the way car fragrance lives in modern spaces. Those little travel companions dangling from your rearview mirror? They’ve gone untouched by time. While automotive design has evolved into sleek, refined interiors, traditional car air fresheners have remained dated — both in design and ingredients.
Fragrance is personal. It’s emotional. It should reflect who you are and create a joy-inducing experience, free from questionable chemicals. We believe the scents that fill your car deserve the same intention as the space itself.
Drift creates long-lasting car fresheners using high-quality essential oil blends that are safe for children and pets. Our signature designs pair sustainably sourced alder wood and organic stone with clean, elevated fragrance to complement — not clutter — your interior.
Beyond the road, Drift also offers home fragrance solutions including scent diffusers, candles, and room sprays, extending your signature scent from car to home.
From car scent subscriptions to modern home fragrance, Drift is on a journey to create immersive atmospheres that harmonize with the open road — and with the spaces you live in every day.

Apple Cinnamon Purgatory

After looking at other reviews online for Drift, I decided to try it out. The main downsides I saw on this product were that the scent dies very quickly, sometimes only after a few days despite the 30 days that is quoted on the website.
I ordered in September 2026 and got the John Wick and the seasonal Apple Cinnamon scents. I tried the Apple Cinnamon first to get in the Fall spirit. At the time of writing this, I haven't tried the John Wick yet.

First impression was that the scent is insanely strong. I installed it on my cars visor, and effectively had to drive with the window down the first day or else be overwhelmed. I am not someone who has a particularly strong sense of smell, and have not had this issue in the past.
It turns out, this wasn't just the first day. 4-5 days in and the scent was pungent. I felt like I was choking on apple cinnamon every time I sat in my car. Even driving around with all 4 windows open regularly didn't seem to help.
I actually removed the air freshener at this point to let it air out a bit on my balcony. The scent remained in my car for days, seemingly without dampening. I think it was soaked into the headliner.

Eventually the scent faded after 3-4 days down to a reasonable level, which was nice. I brought the air freshener inside (my home, not in the car), and it didn't seem to have a particularly strong smell about it in the larger space. So, I brought it back into the car. It wasn't as strong at that point, but it was still increased the overall scent to be much higher than one would typically like for a car air freshener.

Overall verdict, these things are flashy and "cool," but they are not great air fresheners, with the scent being way too strong. I won't speculate on why this is.
I'll try the John Wick when the apple cinnamon hell eventually dissipates and come back and update this review. Perhaps it was just this seasonal scent.

Their customer support is non existent

Their customer support is non existent, and when you write they do not answer. And if you write multiple emails you get an auto response tell you multiple emails will not age a faster response. I HIGHLY wouldn't recommend this company and their fragrance are NOT that long lasting !!!

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. Have cancelled subscription twice, received email confirmation of cancellation twice but refills keep coming and charges against my account continue. Very frustrating! Cancelled because scents are hit and miss…and very expensive compared to local alternatives.

The scent was similar to cheap men’s cologne. Reminded me of when my son was dousing himself in Axe body spray. The holder was sturdy and I like the way the wood block looked. The low rating is because they sign you up for a 20.00 monthly subscription without your knowledge. Seriously! Who on earth wants to spend 240.00 a year on car air fresheners! It is extremely difficult to unsubscribe, even though they say, “unsubscribe anytime”. I ended up reporting them to the BBB, the FTC and my state AG.

CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NONEXISTENT

My grievance is not with the product (it was ok). BUT, If you place it on your visor it always falls off. Magnet is not strong enough. Keeps falling down! Annoying to say the least.
My COMPLAINT is with CUSTOMER SERVICE (or the lack thereof).
I ordered it one time and before you know it I have a subscription which I did not sign up for. When I went to see if I have an account (which I do not). My email is NOT even registered or associated with DRIFT!

I sent them an email saying I do not want a subscription or the product, in plenty of time for them to not send it.
Apparently, they DO NOT READ THEIR EMAILS and honor what the customer wants. If you do not want subscription they will NOT CANCEL you…shifty business, unethical and obviously NON RESPONSIVE.

⭐ 1/5

⭐ 1/5 – Terrible Customer Service! Never Received My Order!

I am extremely disappointed with Drift Scents. I purchased one of their promotional offers over a month ago, and I NEVER received my order.

At first, they claimed the package had been shipped, but it never arrived. Their customer service team contacted me asking to confirm my shipping address again, which I did. Despite that, I still haven't received anything.

It's been over a month, and I have neither received the products I paid for nor gotten my money back.

This is completely unacceptable and extremely unprofessional. They were quick to take my money but failed to deliver what I purchased.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY! Save your money and avoid the frustration. I feel like I paid for absolutely nothing.

Subscription without knowing

Really bad to enter you into a subscription without you knowing. Sick of these companies. I don’t care how good the product is. Not straight forward to cancel either.

They won't stop charging my credit card and sending product. I have canceled twice already.

W hike I liked the first one they sent, they have now attempted three more deliveries. After the second delivery I said stop, I haven't even used the first one yet. I now have three extra sitting in my home. 2 months ago I told them I didn't want any more deliveries. They assured me, in writing, that it was canceled and I would receive nothing else. This morning I got another email saying my shipment is ready and they're charging my card. Enough is enough! I won't be doing business with them anymore.

I ordered from Drift to try the product…

I ordered from Drift to try the product once. I did not knowingly sign up for a subscription, yet they have kept charging my card and sending me products I never ordered.

Cancelling has been close to impossible. The login only works with a code sent by email, and when you cannot access that code you are locked out of your own account while the charges continue. My other account with them shows no subscription at all, so there is nothing to cancel from there either.

A business that makes it this easy to be charged and this hard to stop being charged is not one I can trust. I have had to email them demanding cancellation and a refund, and I am prepared to dispute the charges with my bank.

If you are thinking of "just trying" Drift, check very carefully what you are agreeing to at checkout, and be ready for a fight to cancel. Extremely disappointed. Would not recommend.

Dishonest marketing and customer service

I wish I had looked at the reviews here before placing an order.

First of all their page is misleading and gives you a lower price until you place the order and realise it's jumped from £16 to £23 without any warning.

And then when you contact the customer service, they come back and offer a dismal discount and then offer you a 50% if you order more???!!! Completely unethical in my view plus the non existence policy about cancellation and refund only available in US😯

This is a scam at best and should be reported for dishonest marketeering and false advertisement. Just be aware!!

I ordered once and was put on a subscription I never agreed to. I've emailed several times to cancel, but they keep saying they can't find my account — while charging my card every month. I even cancelled my credit card and got a new one, and they still charged me. Stay away from this company.

I bought a few scents offering a sale and when received all the folks I gave the too said there was no smell back in Sept 2026. Then another order was place with money taken out of bank without my approval by the company. With frequent emails I wanted to resolved and money returned. This was done along with agreeing that I could send back that order and they sent return label. The order was returned 10/9/26 and I requested account be canceled so no more orders be placed as it appears you are told before they do this. I am currently in cancer treatment and money matter at this time but even though this frustrating to deal with customer service did make the return and money return happen.

This company operates a scam subscription service - DO NOT USE! You make one purchase and they assert you are signed up for a monthly subscription. When trying to access their website to try to cancel my purported subscription it confirmed “there was no subscription” associated with my email address! But they still billed me! Customer services is an AI Chat Bot. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY.

Caused $1,090 in chemical visor damage; admitted fault in writing then capped reimbursement.

Beware placing Drift fresheners on factory car visors. I used Drift stone air fresheners clipped to the visors of my 2024 Ford Maverick and 2024 Ford Bronco. Over time, chemical solvents from the scented blocks leaked, melting and blistering the factory vinyl and foam trim on both vehicle visors down to the plastic substrate.

When contacted, Drift customer support admitted in writing that their freshener caused the vehicle damage. However, despite certified, itemized repair estimates from my local Ford dealership totaling $1,090.00 to replace the damaged components, Drift management attempted to impose an arbitrary internal $500 cap on reimbursement. When I rejected the cap and requested senior management escalation, they promised a 24-hour response window and subsequently went silent.

Formal complaints have been filed with the Better Business Bureau and the Georgia Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division. Inspect your visors if you use these clips.
