Vinted Fraud

After being a Vinted member for sometime, having around 300 transactions and holding a 5* reviews continually my account has been blocked and now closed by customer service.

I bought some silver coins that turned out to be counterfeit, I contacted the buyer as advised by Vinted and was ignored, I ask Vinted for support who said as the traction was over 48hrs old they could help, I reported this to my bank as I paid with a credit card and gave all of the correspondence to them, they got my money back and then Vinted blocked me..I wrote an email complaining and that have now removed my account.

I can't quite believe it, I'm not in the wrong & it's the seller, and they seem to favour the fraudsters, if you can avoid using Vinted do so, there customer service is appalling.

When things go wrong, Vinted leaves you completely on your own

I’m writing this in the knowledge that nobody at Vinted will read this or care about it, but in the hope that it prevents other people from being disadvantaged as I have been. If enough people stop using the platform, perhaps Vinted will finally sit up and listen to its customers.

Vinted has failed me on numerous occasions over the past few months, both as a buyer and as a seller. When something goes wrong, they don’t resolve it. Instead, you’re left in a black hole, unable to speak to anyone who can actually help. Issues go unresolved for weeks, sometimes months, with little communication and no meaningful support.

As a buyer, I’ve resorted to raising a dispute with my card provider to get an issue addressed. As a seller, however, you seem to have very little protection when something goes wrong.

My latest experience perfectly illustrates the problem. I sold an item that was clearly damaged in transit by the carrier, InPost. The packaging and the item’s box were badly damaged, and the item itself — a sturdy plastic toy — was broken. The damage was so severe that it looked as though someone had stamped on it or thrown something extremely heavy on top of it with considerable force.

The item had been packaged properly, in a box, wrapped in honeycomb cushioning and parcel paper. Yet Vinted’s response was to blame me, claiming that the item had not been sufficiently packaged. This seems to be a familiar response from Vinted when a parcel arrives damaged: rather than properly investigating what has happened, they shift the responsibility onto the seller.

So, despite taking reasonable care to package the item securely, I’m left out of pocket because a carrier has apparently mishandled it, and Vinted has decided that I’m responsible.

What makes this particularly frustrating is that there is no meaningful way to challenge these decisions. You cannot speak to someone, explain the circumstances properly or have a sensible conversation with a person who can look at the evidence and make a fair judgement. You’re left dealing with automated responses and a system that seems designed to prevent you from getting help rather than provide it.

This isn’t an isolated incident for me. It’s part of a pattern of poor customer service, inadequate protection for both buyers and sellers, and a complete lack of accountability when things go wrong.

Vinted makes money from the transactions taking place on its platform, but when something goes wrong, it seems unwilling to take responsibility for ensuring customers are treated fairly. A platform that facilitates transactions between buyers and sellers should have a fair, transparent process for resolving disputes, particularly when third-party carriers are involved. In my experience, Vinted falls woefully short of that standard.

I used to see Vinted as a convenient way to buy and sell items. Now, I see it as a platform where you take a risk every time you transact, because if something goes wrong, you may find yourself completely on your own.

My advice? Think carefully before using Vinted, particularly if you’re selling anything of value. The money you save or make simply may not be worth the risk of being left out of pocket with nobody willing to help you.

Vinted needs to start treating its customers fairly, taking responsibility when things go wrong, and providing access to real people who can resolve disputes. Until it does, I cannot recommend the platform.

It cant get much worse

I can’t understand how they are still going when they are this bad.

Trying to set up a pro account for a charity. As per their own terms and conditions, pro accounts are for charities. They won’t allow it though, because pro accounts aren’t for charities. Even when showing them their own terms and conditions they just reply with nonsense.

From my personal use, items keep getting taken down for being counterfeit (they’re not) and when I appeal it the appeal is just completely ignored.
Temporary ban for apparent commercial selling. All I did was clear out my wardrobe, something they keep sending app notifications telling me to do!

An absolute joke of a company.

Such stupid abd horrible customer…

Such stupid abd horrible customer service. I had over 870 plus 5 star reviews but they blocked my account stating I am selling counterfeit goods. I had only 2 listings on my profile. On challenging the decision, they couldn't even tell which item is it and did not reverse the decision. Can't believe how dumb people can be

Vinted is the "Car Boot" of the internet you rarely get the price u wanted just ridiculous low offers just like at a car boot! Then if u do sell u then have to wait for it to be delivered, collected, then liked then the time and date when yr money should be available, it never is and you have to wait even longer!!!!! The best people for vinted is the buyers and not the sellers! Ebay next day you get yr money no matter what and u get to speak to a human if a problem why did eBay have to change and let Vinted in the back door??? U mite as well take your stuff to a car boot it mite be cold on early mornings but at least u get the money straight away 👍

Vinted has been great in my experience

Vinted has been great in my experience. UNTIL NOW. I am currently restricted on placing ads due to listing items contrary to their rules. These items are collectable coins and banknotes and I have sold hundreds of them over the last 2 years. However you are not now allowed to sell notes that can still be used as legal currency, ok if that's the rule fair enough. However, I reported several other listings by other sellers for the same notes that I am restricted for. Their reply basically " we have taken no action as these listings do not visibly contravene our rules" Thanks for that ROBOT. There are literally hundreds of these items for sale on vinted

Never use this sham rip off site. NEVER. !!

Vinted is an absolute sh*t show scam. Sellers can send faulty items and there’s nothing you can do. Another one of those stupid sites that have no way of contacting them. No customer support. They just have a page full of rubbish telling you to work it out with the seller. Who is totally refusing to comply. They just sit back and let you struggle. And they get a fee for doing nothing. Absolutely diabolical scamming joke of a company and it should be taken off the net by offcom. Disgusting how they get away with it. I’d strongly recommend anybody thinking of using vinted to change their mind. You’ll get scammed. And zero help from them. Lucky go get one star. Only cos I can’t leave none.

Vinted more like stone age Where do you start

Where do you start? Let’s start with when they lose an item it takes 30 days for them to even get to look at it. Very very poor customer support. It’s all done by message and it’s all linked to the one particular message. You have to keep scrolling down to find the there there reply Had an original pair of expensive ladies shoes. I had quite a few messages from one buyer asking me would I sell them for quite a reduction no was the answer from me next minute they’ve been removed as they had been reported as fake which is crazy because I had the receipt from the shop and it was quite obvious that it was the person who asked for a reduction so they reported them as fake and good old Vinted because they’ve got such a big knowledge. Sorry I didn’t mean to say that because they’ve got no knowledge took their word on it. advertise 3 gas masks sold one then brainless Vinted removed the other 2 when I put the appeal in I finally get we’ve made a mistake. Your items will be relisted as they were when you first listed them then I get another message 24 hours later saying no they are banned we made a mistake total and utter lack of customer support lack of knowledge, third rate company and that’s being generous. they have very little knowledge on what people are selling on delivery options and payments absolutely shocking and I feel having to give them one star should be m8nus 10 stars

Appalling customer service – robotic responses, zero accountability…

My experience with Vinted customer support has been absolutely woeful. The issue itself was frustrating enough, but the attitude and complete failure of customer service to actually address the problem have been even worse.

I purchased a vinyl LP that arrived in a condition significantly worse than advertised. The record had multiple surface scratches, and the sleeve was split along its seams. These defects were not shown in the listing photographs.

I raised the issue and sought a fair resolution. I specifically asked the seller to cover the return postage, and we agreed on this through Vinted’s messaging system.

What followed was an utterly dismal display of customer service. I received repeated template responses telling me to follow the standard returns process, contact the seller, or accept that the shipping fee could not be refunded because their system would not allow it. I repeatedly explained that I had already contacted the seller and that an agreement had been reached. It made absolutely no difference.

Not once did anyone meaningfully address the evidence I had raised. Not once did anyone explain how the seller’s agreement had been considered. Not once did anyone offer a practical solution or demonstrate that a real person had taken ownership of the complaint.

Instead, I was passed through a cycle of apologetic-sounding messages that said absolutely nothing useful. Being polite while repeatedly ignoring the customer’s actual complaint is not customer service. Hiding behind a technical limitation is not a resolution. And repeatedly sending the same generic instructions is not what anyone should reasonably expect when asking a company to investigate a dispute.

The most infuriating part is that I was not asking for instructions on how to return an item. I was asking Vinted to address an agreement about who should pay for that return. They simply refused to engage with the distinction.

Vinted’s customer support has left me with the impression that closing a support interaction matters more than resolving the customer’s problem. There is no meaningful accountability, no apparent ownership, and no confidence that anyone has actually read the messages being sent to them.

A marketplace is only as trustworthy as the support available when something goes wrong. Based on this experience, I have very little confidence in Vinted’s ability or willingness to deal fairly with disputes.

Absolutely woeful. A genuinely disappointing experience, and one that has seriously damaged my confidence in the platform

ONE STAR — SHAME ON YOU, VINTED! ZERO STARS WOULD BE TOO GENEROUS!

£600 DISPUTE. INPOST CONFIRMS A PARCEL MIX-UP. BUYER REPORTS BEING BANNED. FORMAL COMPLAINTS IGNORED. ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL!

Vinted username: pablo197905

I HAVE COMPLETELY LOST ALL HOPE IN VINTED!

I sold a genuine Hermès silk scarf for £600. The buyer claimed to have received completely different items. What followed has been weeks of appalling customer service, unanswered questions and endless generic responses.

INPOST HAS ADMITTED A PARCEL LABEL ERROR IN WRITING!

Following my Subject Access Request, InPost confirmed:

“As part of our searches, we identified that a label intended for your parcel was inadvertently associated with another parcel. This resulted in the parcels being incorrectly associated during the delivery process.”

THIS IS THE DELIVERY COMPANY’S OWN FINDING!

I have provided CCTV evidence, tracking information, conflicting barcode references and extensive documentation.

InPost’s Senior Escalation Team has also confirmed that investigation findings are communicated directly to Vinted.

SO WHY DOES VINTED CONTINUE TO IGNORE MY QUESTIONS?

Even more concerning, the buyer personally told me her Vinted account had been banned because of my transaction. I HAVE THE CHAT EVIDENCE!

I am not accusing the buyer of wrongdoing, but surely this information deserves proper investigation?

What does Vinted know about the circumstances of this account ban? Has it considered this development? What happened to my parcel?

NOT ONE SUBSTANTIVE ANSWER!

VINTED’S CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE!

Different representatives. Different names. The same copy-and-paste responses. AGAIN AND AGAIN!

Nobody appears to take ownership. Nobody answers specific questions. Nobody provides a clear explanation of what evidence has been assessed.

I submitted a formal complaint on 15 September 2026 and subsequently escalated the matter, requesting senior management involvement and a formal position.

TODAY, 14 OCTOBER, MY FORMAL ESCALATION WAS AGAIN MET WITH THE SAME GENERIC INVESTIGATION RESPONSE!

It makes absolutely no difference whether you ask formally, informally or through an official escalation.

EVERY QUESTION IS IGNORED. EVERY RESPONSE LEADS BACK TO THE SAME POINTLESS LOOP!

What is the purpose of a formal complaints procedure if nobody actually addresses the complaint?

I am not asking for special treatment. I am demanding accountability, transparency and a fair assessment of documented evidence.

£600 at stake. A documented parcel-association error. CCTV evidence. A buyer reporting an account ban. Weeks of correspondence. Formal complaints and escalations.

AND STILL NO SUBSTANTIVE DECISION!

I strongly warn anyone considering selling expensive designer items on Vinted to think carefully about what happens when a transaction goes wrong.

My trust in this company has been completely destroyed.

SHAME ON YOU, VINTED!

ZERO TRANSPARENCY. ZERO CONFIDENCE. ZERO HOPE.

IT IS AN ABSOLUTE SHAME THAT TRUSTPILOT DOES NOT OFFER ZERO STARS. ONE STAR IS FAR TOO GENEROUS FOR THIS DISGRACEFUL EXPERIENCE!
