1 Star – Appalling customer service, ignored emails and an unresolved £598 holiday dispute!

I am absolutely disgusted with the way Travelodeal has handled my complaint. I have never experienced such a complete lack of communication from a travel company.

I purchased two All Inclusive Mystery Holiday vouchers through Wowcher, costing £598 in total. The holiday was advertised using descriptions such as “endless sunshine”, sandy beaches, a lively beach or poolside setting and promenades filled with shops and cafés.

When my destination was revealed, I was allocated Antalya, Turkey, departing on 14 November. I immediately raised concerns that this did not reasonably match the sun-soaked, lively holiday experience I believed I was purchasing.

Travelodeal initially sent an email stating that the accommodation was room-only, despite my purchase being All Inclusive. They later admitted this was a system glitch.

I subsequently received a telephone call from a representative named James. Rather than properly addressing my concerns, I was offered Costa Brava as an alternative, but only if I paid the difference. I declined because I didn't believe this would resolve the original issue.

I made it clear that I wanted my complaint dealt with in writing.

Travelodeal then informed Wowcher that a manager was dealing with my complaint and instructed Wowcher not to process my refund, claiming they were hopeful of resolving the matter.

That was the last meaningful communication I received from Travelodeal on 5 October.

Since then, I have sent numerous emails, including forwarding my unanswered complaints to another Travelodeal email address. Not one has received a response.

I have even tried to reach a compromise. I explained that I would happily accept an alternative 7-night All Inclusive holiday that genuinely matches the original advertisement, without additional charges, rather than insisting on a refund.

Even that reasonable offer has been completely ignored.

My intended departure date is 14 November, yet I have received no flight details, hotel information or final booking confirmation. I have no idea whether anything has actually been booked or what will happen if the departure date passes while my complaint remains unresolved.

I have now had to raise a formal payment dispute through bank because neither Travelodeal nor Wowcher has resolved the situation.

What I find particularly unacceptable is that Travelodeal told Wowcher a manager was handling my complaint, yet nobody has had the courtesy to contact me.

I am not asking for anything unreasonable. I simply want the holiday experience that was advertised and paid for, or my £598 returned.

The complete silence, lack of accountability and disregard for a paying customer have been shocking.

I would strongly advise anyone considering booking through Travelodeal to read the terms carefully and consider how difficult it may be to get assistance if something goes wrong.

I am still waiting for a manager to contact me and resolve this complaint.

Yes, there were upgrades available which I took to avoid extra stops and better layover times. Very satisfied with the communication and now need to wait a couple months to take the trip!

We recently booked a five-night, all-inclusive vacation to Punta Cana through TraveloDeal for November 20–25, 2026. Unfortunately, our booking experience has been extremely disappointing, particularly regarding last-minute price increases and the company's refusal to correct an issue with our private airport transfers.

Last-Minute Price Increases

On October 4, TraveloDeal provided a written quote of $1,349 per person ($2,698 total). By October 12, the price had increased to $1,549 per person ($3,098 total).

When we were ready to finalize the booking, the price increased yet again to $3,723.93 — an increase of $1,025.93, or approximately 38%, over the original quote.

TraveloDeal attributed the final increase to its hotel provider raising its rates. To be fair, the company disclosed the higher price before charging our credit card and gave us the option to decline. However, having the price increase so substantially at the last minute was frustrating and raised concerns about the reliability of its initial quotes.

Unacceptable Private Airport Transfer Arrangements

Our second concern is even more troubling.

During the booking process, we specifically informed the TraveloDeal representative that two passengers would be traveling with two full-size checked suitcases and two carry-on suitcases.

Despite providing this information before booking, our private airport transfer voucher specifies an allowance of only three medium suitcases. Worse, the transfer company's terms count carry-on suitcases toward that allowance.

This means the transportation arranged by TraveloDeal does not adequately account for the luggage we clearly disclosed when making the reservation.

When we contacted TraveloDeal to correct the discrepancy, the company refused to provide an acceptable resolution.

We are not requesting an upgrade or changing our luggage requirements after booking. We simply expect the company to arrange the transportation that accommodates the luggage we told them about from the beginning.

Our Overall Experience

We paid $3,723.93 in full for this vacation. After accepting substantial last-minute price increases, we now find ourselves having to argue with TraveloDeal over something as basic as ensuring our prepaid private transportation accommodates our luggage.

What makes this especially disappointing is the lack of willingness to take responsibility and resolve the problem.

Our vacation has not yet taken place, so this review reflects our booking and customer service experience, not the resort or actual travel experience.

My advice to anyone considering TraveloDeal:

Be cautious about advertised and initially quoted prices. The final price may be significantly higher.

Get every detail in writing before paying, including baggage allowances and private transfer vehicle capacity.

Review every voucher carefully, even when you have already explained your requirements to the booking agent.

Do not assume that an issue caused by incorrect booking arrangements will be corrected without resistance.

We had hoped for a straightforward booking experience. Instead, we encountered significant price increases and an unresolved transportation issue.

TraveloDeal needs to do better when it comes to transparent pricing, accurate reservations, and customer service.

We will update this review if the company takes responsibility and corrects our private transfer arrangements before departure.
