Expensive. Too expensive…
Planet Express starts out almost too well. Opening the account is easy, receiving packages at the warehouse is straightforward, and the little warehouse services are cheap enough to make you feel unusually clever. Five-dollar repacking, modest handling fees — for a while you think you’ve found the secret back door to every U.S. store that refuses to ship overseas. Very efficient. Very civilized. Almost suspiciously painless.
Then the package has to leave the building, and the meter starts running. Planet Express does not allow you to use your own FedEx account, provide your own prepaid label, or arrange your own pickup. You ship on their rates, with insurance included. I actually understand the insurance requirement: if something goes sideways in transit, they don’t want to be left holding the bag. Fair enough. The problem is that our own corporate FedEx rates are more than twice as low. At that point, the five-dollar repack begins to feel like the complimentary peanuts before a very expensive dinner. For some bulky items, returning the merchandise to the seller may honestly make more financial sense.
Customer service was good at first, although replies often came at hours that seemed a little unusual for a U.S.-based operation. After the international shipping was paid, communication got much harder. One of our parcels showed no movement for about ten days, so we contacted support. We received no reply at all. Zero. Radio silence. The funny part is that shortly afterward the package finally started moving. So maybe somebody read the message and decided that moving the box was easier than answering us. We’ll put the movement in the plus column and the disappearing act in the minus column.
Customs added another little plot twist. We sent two very similar shipments from the same account. The first arrived in France correctly as a business shipment, with no additional taxes collected from us here. The second somehow arrived addressed to a private individual. Same account, same customer, same forwarding service — yet one box stayed in business and the other apparently decided to go freelance. We never requested that change. The result was roughly another €40 in taxes and charges in the EU. How two shipments from the same account ended up with two different customs identities is one of those mysteries best left to Planet Express.
And that is really the problem. Planet Express has a genuinely useful concept, the warehouse side works, and the small internal fees are very reasonable. But the lack of flexibility on carrier labels, the extremely high international shipping rates, inconsistent shipment information, and difficult communication after payment make the service far too expensive and stressful for us. Both packages did eventually arrive, so the story has a happy ending. Nobody had to call City Hall, Lake Michigan is still where we left it, and the boxes made it to France. But our wallet remembers the experience better than we do. We won’t be using Planet Express again.
Total bait and switch on their new FedEx option
Planet Express just pulled a massive bait and switch on their customers. They recently announced FedEx International Connect as a cheaper way to send packages overseas, which seemed really good at first.
At the very end of September I had a package going to Australia and the shipping was quoted at $86.79. Just a few days later I went to ship another box with the exact same size and weight going to the exact same place, and suddenly they are charging $126.49.
That is a crazy price hike in a matter of days. It honestly feels like a trick to lure people in with cheap shipping options and then quietly jack up the prices the very next week. I am completely done trusting their rates and would definitely recommend using a different company if you want honest pricing.
Planet Express responded to my complaint by claiming these are "live carrier rates" and blaming global events. Let's be real: no carrier increases their prices by almost 50% in a single day. To make matters worse, this supposedly cheaper FedEx International Connect option now costs almost exactly the same to Australia as FedEx International Economy. Furthermore, they charge far less for shipping to Europe than they do to Australia, making it incredibly obvious that they are just taking advantage of the market to rip off Australians.

They’re great service and smooth…
They’re great service and smooth sipping process.
One thing that concerned me was that the system—such as how to place an order or the requirement to pay a deposit upfront—was a bit confusing.
Excellent and fast support
Worth it
Shipping was more expensive than expected, but the parcel arrived so QUICKLY! Very pleased with this service. Thank you!
Extremely predatory pricing and zero customer support – Avoid at all costs!
Extremely predatory pricing and zero customer support – Avoid at all costs!
My experience with Planet Express has been nothing short of a nightmare. They are holding my package (approx. 20 kg, dimensions 53x51x36 cm) hostage in their Oregon warehouse and trying to extort over $500 USD for standard FedEx International Economy shipping.
To put their absurdity into perspective:
Rookies in logic: Their Economy shipping was actually priced higher than their Priority option ($501.81 vs $500.74).
Massive markup: The exact same FedEx service on the exact same commercial route is available on external platforms for $178 to $220. They are charging a $300+ predatory markup for doing virtually nothing.
Trapping your goods: They strictly forbid customers from arranging their own courier pickup to bypass these ridiculous rates.
Threatening with storage fees/destruction: While completely ignoring my support tickets and pricing dispute, they slapped a ticking clock on my package, threatening to charge storage fees or dispose of it within days.
When a company forces you into a corner, refuses to explain their distorted prices, blocks alternative shipping methods, and uses storage fee threats as leverage, that is pure extortion, not logistics.
Stay far, far away from Planet Express if you don't want to get scammed on shipping rates!

Perfect and on time.Great service
The experience was terrible.
The experience was terrible.
I work with several package forwarding providers and wanted to try something new with Planet Express, but it was a shock. The website has a primitive, confusing interface—fine, no problem. They offer multiple shipping options, yet when you select the one you like, they tell you it’s unavailable—fine, no problem. They use a postal service without informing the customer—at the time of selection—that the shipment requires extra time just to be handed over to the carrier; it can take 10 days or more just to reach the post office—fine, no problem. When you contact them, they claim it will arrive on the scheduled date, but that day comes and goes, and the delivery is delayed by several more days. On top of that, the service rates are high for a shipping option advertised as taking 7–12 days, yet it takes a full month to arrive. Try them at your own risk; as soon as my shipment arrives, I will delete my account immediately. I just want to forget this awful experience.

Very great support by Chat
Very simple to use with good price but the best is the support offered by chat Processor called Chris was very professional and calm taking out all my doubts and guiding me to the best options.
they bought and deliver it to me
Thank you so much for buying from a store that doesn’t ship to my country (Saudi Arabia) and delivering my order to me so fast! One of the best forwarding services I’ve ever used. Everything was easy and arrived safely. Highly recommend

wasted time and so much money.
Do not use this service
Do not use this service. I repeat do not ever use this service. My experience was absolutely depressing. I had shipped an item from US to my address using planet express shipping since it was vheapest and it showed tracking but then once shipped the tracking webpage to asendia stopped giving updates after it reached customs of my place and i checked same tracking id it had never even left US on my own country's post tracking webpage. Also the date for some reason market january 1970 i dont understand how. And on top of that the package coming from US had FR in the end of its tracking showing that it was a package coming from france ? Like how is that possible. Its been more than 1 month now since the package left planet express and it hasn't reached customs or post office. I tried contacting them and planet express customer support said it reached my nearest post office but also said this mail isnt dilly trackable ? How do you know it reached nearest post office then? I asked them multiple times for tracking but they didn't provide anything and also stopped replying to my emails after 2 responses. My item was higher value than marked since my country levies very heavy duties so clearly no point in getting any claim even. Worst shipping service ever and they most likey kept my parcel for themselves while giving fake random tracking for some parcel from france.
Again i repeat, do not ever use this service for anything, even if you use insurance you will get screwed.

I’ve been always happy with their service.
If I had to criticize anything, it’ll be the time
that takes to actually ship the package even
if you pay extra for Rush ship out!
efficient service

- Their auction system is a trap. You buy cheap things that go to a warehouse with a very short free storage time and then find out that sending what you bought to another address is exceptionally expensive
