First and most importantly, NO ONE EVER answers the phone. I've been on hold for as long as 45 minutes with no success. I purchased a 6F750 transmission for an Explorer. I was sent a 6L80 transmission. It was over a week before they shipped me the correct transmission causing more down time on vehicle. Then two months later, the transmission is leaking and making a whirring sound. I've been trying to resolve with Powertrain for four days. Forget talking to anyone! TERRIBLE business! TERRIBLE customer service! I will NEVER purchase anything from them again!

We purchased a 4L60e for a 01 Yukon in March 2026, transmission has been driven 1198 miles in 5 months. Transmission now has no 3rd gear so I contacted the warranty department since we purchased a 5yr unlimited mile warranty at the same time. We have sent all requested information regarding the claim even down to explaining operation of the 4L60e transmission. It has been a month since warranty claim submitted with no action on their part to rectify the failure. They have claimed they didn't receive emails that were sent even though I have read receipts attached. I also send to a private email to verify it goes out. Anyone wanting a quality product with warranty to stand behind it should avoid Powertrain Products at all costs. Did I fail to mention this vehicle is driven by an 85 yr old neighbor who has a perfect driving record? So I know it hasn't been abused.

I purchase a Transmission for a Dodge 2002 2500 and after installation and no working correct, they indicated that to receive the Warranty i need to purchase another one and once the inspected the return I will get my money including the Mechanic charge, 7 months and and after approving the payment over two months ago, no more response from then, Are they crook or what?

I could go on for days about my experience with this company.

I strongly considered using and supporting their products, but after seeing and hearing about repeated product failures, I became uncomfortable putting their products into anything I build for myself or my customers.

My bigger concern, however, is the professionalism surrounding the company and people representing it. One of their product ambassadors told me, and I quote, “I hope you build your truck, put your wife and retarded kid in it and drive off a f$@&ing cliff.” For context, my son is autistic. I have the conversation recorded.

I also have a recorded conversation with the company owner that, in my opinion, was equally disappointing and only reinforced my concerns about how this company handles conflict and criticism.

Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend this company to someone looking for a product they can depend on and a company that will professionally stand behind it. I went into this wanting to potentially support their products. I walked away wanting absolutely nothing to do with the company.

They don't deserve one star.. Engines are crap, good luck getting reimbursed. How in the hell is this company still in business? Still waiting on reimbursement for the engine install months later... Don't even consider buying an engine from these people you will have better luck digging one out of a junkyard.

I run a auto repair shop I have a customer the purchased a engine from power train products she up very little miles on the vehicle and found the head gasket was leaking we remove the cylinder head and noticed 3 bolts were loose went to reinstall the head and there are no threads in the those there hold where the bolts was loose, I have used there engines before but no more. People don’t purchase anything from power train products and the don’t want to warranty anything

Absolute worst experience that I have ever had in my life was trying to sell me a junk engine from what I’m finding out before they had a chance to ship it. I had a cancellation done. Tom Parker, which is the sales person that showed me said that he would refund my money has completely ghosted me now will not return. Phone calls has not returned my money and is basically just stole $965 from me. Do not give them the time of day absolute worst experience you’ll ever have. They sound really good when they’re trying to sell it to you, but will not stand behind or do anything. I hope this keeps somebody else from getting ripped off.

NEVER BUY FROM POWERTRAIN. they lie in sales department to get extra $. i paid $800 extra for WARRANTY PARTS & LABOR was told it is best in the USA by the sales dept. My engine has less than 3000 miles since the installation & they told me on a recorded call the “engine replacement was approves by the owner” & the labor was NOT. I requested they send the engine while I file an official appeal in writing. They then ended the call without explanation & haven’t fulfilled the warranty claim. My truck has been down for 9 months. This company is evil and dishonest . I regret trusting them. They are causing my 80
year old mother stress unnecessarily & i am writing them to file & begin a civil court claim … it so sad they steal from customers. NEVER TRUST POWERTRAIN PRODUCTS! scam scam scam

These people have sent an engine to my brother. Our shop was going to install it. However upon initial swapping of the valve covers the left hand bolt was stripped on both sides of the engine. No threads for the bolts to hold onto. We did not trust anything else to be right inside the engine so we sent it back. They have had it now for 2 weeks and still no refund. Will update this rating when we see a refund. But right now they have stolen our money and will give them a few more days. These people are not to be trusted at this point in our experience. Just trying to warn people of their business practices.

Save your self a huge headache and stay far away from power train products. There warranty is junk. i bought a transmission from them & had nothing but problems the day it was installed. They will lie, make up lies to not pay a warranty claim. It did not make it 24 hours. Buy a OE and save your time & money.

If I could get less than a star I would… this place is garbage… bought a “rebuilt” transmission from them, within a thousand miles from install was leaking out of the seal around the tail shaft. They either didn’t rebuild it correctly or at all and the tail shaft was loose causing it to move around enough to leak fluid out from where the seal is. Didn’t want to do anything to fix it whatsoever. Zero respect for the company and wouldn’t recommend their products to anyone.

I purchased a remanufactured engine from Powertrain Products. When I placed the order, I was told the engine was in stock. However, it still took approximately two and a half months for the engine to arrive.

After receiving the engine, I had it installed, only to immediately discover that it had a failed lifter. I went through the warranty process and had the issue repaired. I paid $1,886.76 out of my own pocket for the repair. I don't have an issue with paying that amount upfront because I understood that I would be reimbursed through the warranty process.

The problem is that I have been trying to get my reimbursement for over three months now. I have called Powertrain Products multiple times, and on several occasions I have spent hours on hold just trying to speak with someone. When I have been able to get through, I am repeatedly told that they cannot provide me with any additional information regarding the status of my warranty claim.

I was originally told that the reimbursement process would take approximately three months. That time has now passed, and I still have not received my $1,886.76 reimbursement or any meaningful update regarding when I can expect it.

At this point, the lack of communication and customer service has been extremely frustrating. I purchased this engine expecting a reliable product and a reasonable warranty experience. Instead, I have had to deal with a delayed delivery, an engine that needed repairs immediately after installation, and now months of waiting for reimbursement with little to no communication.

If Powertrain Products sees this and decides to help resolve the situation, I would greatly appreciate it. I would simply like to receive the reimbursement I am owed and have someone provide me with a clear update on my claim.

As of right now, based on my experience, I cannot recommend purchasing a remanufactured engine from Powertrain Products.

Ignoring me regarding warrantee payment. HAve called multiple times over the past year with no satisfaction. last call was put on hold and rep never returned left on hold.

Before making a purchase, I checked the BBB website and this company has an A rating, despite having 206 complaints within 3 years.  You don't see the complaints unless you actually click the complaints button, so I never saw them before making the purchase becaus eI never imagined BBB would present this company as having an A rating with that many complaints.  I purchased a remanufactured transmission online from this company.  I also purchased an additional 7 year warranty on the transmission.  The transmission developed a shudder after 1 year of use.  I took it to the Chevrolet dealership and they confirmed the transmission is bad and needs to be replaced again.  As part of the transmission replacement, I also had to replace the radiator per the warranty terms, which I did.  The total cost to replace the transmission and radiator came to $5803.44 ($3734.12 for transmission and warranty + $482.50 for radiator + $1586.82 for labor to remove and replace transmission and radiator.)  Warranty replacement rates are based on ALL DATA rates for mechanics.  ALL DATA rates are as follows for a transmission replacement and does not include labor to replace radiator again

The company also confirmed I would have to replace the radiator again as part of the warranty claim.  In order to replace the transmission again, I would have to pay another $2069.32.  This company is only offering 7.2 hours for replacement, even though the warranty cleary states that it covers 10 hours labor at $100 per hour to replace the transmission.  The company was only willing to reimburse me $720 out of the additional $2069.32 that I will have to pay.  I finally decided to accept because I just want to repair the vehicle so I can sell it and move on but they have not responded to my last 3 emails.  It is not fair how this company operates and I had to go purchase a new vehicle to drive because I am out $5803.44 and stuck with a vehicle that doesn't run. I submitted claims through BBB and NC DOJ, maybe if enough people submit claims, they will be investigated. If you read the BBB reviews, it's unlikely I will ever receive a reimbursement check even if they do eventually respond to me!

From Ed the owner, to Derrick the technician and Halle the customer service rep, everyone was professional and stood by their product.

I was in the market for a 5.3 engine for my truck and came across this company. I created the order after reading the reviews left by others on their website. I looked at some of the reviews left on BBB website and had my doubts so I wanted to cancel my order. This is when Ed ( the owner ) reached out the same evening and told me he completely understood but said he would stand by his products and explained some of the negative experiences that he had tried to resolve but we all know not everyone can be pleased. This was very comforting to know so I proceeded with my order.

Once the order was placed it didn't take the process of getting the engine delivered ( approx 3 days ) which was way faster than I thought.

I ended up having issues with the engine so I spoke to Derrick ( the technician ) about everything and he was very understanding and communicated with me all the requirements and fixed the issue with no fuss. I was open and honest with him and he was the same with me.

Halle was all over the email chains that were going on throughout the process of my purchase. She responded quickly and thoroughly.

I understand not everyone's experiences are the same but I will say this business has earned my business along with my respect.

I want to thank each and everyone that I dealt with for making this a simple and pleasurable experience!!

Worst customer service I have ever had. Hrs on hold and they dont pay their bills. Do not buy anything from this company!

They don't pay on warranty claims. We can no longer recommend this company for engines or transmissions. They used to sell quality products. I don't know what happened.

I bought an engine from Powertrain with the Oure Care No Fault 7 year warranty. The first engine threw a rod and left a hole in the engine. I had to fight for months to get a replacement under the warranty through Powertrain. The bill was $5500 and Powertrain only covered $1800 of the cost. The replacement engine they provided has had issues since day 1. Powertrain continues to fight coverage under warranty. I have had this vehicle in 3 different mechanic shops and each one of them has told me this is the worst warranty company they have ever dealt with. Meanwhile my car is in the shop and I haven’t had a reliable vehicle for 2 years. I WOULD NEVER BUY AN ENGINE FROM POWERTRAIN. BUYER BEWARE!!!

If I could give this company a ZERO or a negative, I would give it a -10. I paid for the no fault warranty (at the time thats what it was called) They approved the reimbursement, said it would take at least 90 days for the check to go out. May 10th was the 90 day mark and now I cant even get a return email or a phone call when leaving a voicemail. I call and wait for someone to answer for hours . Literally HOURS. Most times when I do a. "Call back,a person doesn't call, it sends me to a voicemail that is full half the time. Imm trying to let them do right by their warranty before i turn it over to my attorney. Its been since September 2025, and its now almost the end of /May 2026.
