I am totally indebted to the Vets at Medivet, Wokingham. My dog was recognised to have diabetes on the Friday, the vet (Chris), phoned me late evening with the diagnosis and made an early appointment on the Saturday morning. He explained diabetes to me clearly and emphatically, he also spent time with regard the injecting of the insulin, I was not the best of customers as I was in a state of shock and concern. He arranged for me to attend the surgery on 4 occasions over the weekend to have the insulin injected and also give me the opportunity to 'practice' giving the injection. This is where Amy came in, she was so patient and understanding, she administered two more injections, then helped me on the Sunday evening to give the first one myself.
All of these appointments were either very early morning or well into the evening, on all visits Amy was professional, supportive and encouraging, I can't thank her enough.
This morning I was able to give the insulin to my dog at home, I felt confident and comfortable in doing this purely because I had received the best advice and support over the weekend.
I would like to thank Chris and Amy for all they have done for Molly and myself, it could quite easily have been a different outcome without them.
