Update: This companies response misrepresents both me and the situation. I raised this matter in good faith, seeking a fair and practical resolution to an inherent structural defect in the frame that existed before the prescription lenses were fitted.

The fixed plastic construction of the Oakley Pitchman R means this hinge misalignment cannot be adjusted. Suggesting that the defect arose only after lens fitting, and implying the optician caused it, is misleading and unsupported by evidence.

I have acted reasonably throughout. Rather than addressing the actual manufacturing fault, they have attempted to shift responsibility onto a third party and portray their position as reasonable. I find this deeply disappointing and an unfair representation of the facts.

I purchased a pair of Oakley Pitchman R frames from Mojo Glasses (Order #1973712). An independent assessment by an authorized Oakley optician confirmed that the frame supplied has an inherent structural manufacturing defect—a misaligned hinge assembly that cannot be adjusted due to the fixed design of this specific model.

Back in August, customer service (Ryan) acknowledged the hinge misalignment and offered a replacement frame from stock. However, as I reliance-wear custom prescription lenses in these frames daily, I sought a practical remedy that would not leave me without essential vision aids.

When I formally escalated the matter to Director Mark Watson, Mojo Glasses completely reversed their stance. They began asserting that fitting prescription lenses constituted an "alteration" and falsely claimed the third-party optician must have damaged the frame, attempting to shift statutory retailer liability onto an independent party.

Under Section 19 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods that demonstrate defects within 6 months are legally presumed to have been present at delivery. Mojo Glasses has consistently ignored statutory obligations, attempted to deny consumer rights once third-party glazing occurred, and refused to provide details regarding their official complaints procedure or deadlock process.

If you purchase frame-only items expecting accountability or statutory consumer protections should a manufacturing defect arise, be aware that Mojo Glasses may deflect responsibility. I am now forced to escalate through Section 75/chargeback, Trading Standards, and formal dispute channels.
