I had a highly frustrating experience with Flatrate Moving. My delivery took over 14 weeks—well past the promised 10-week maximum timeframe.
Getting updates was a nightmare. Emails went unanswered, and the staff I spoke with rarely had answers and refused to take accountability. Furthermore, they overcharged me based on an estimated shipment volume that was far higher than my actual volume, refusing to adjust the final price or explain the math.

The team was remarkable. So kind, polite and efficient. I would highly recommend them to anyone moving. Thank you for everything. Pricing is also very fair.

Recently, I moved from one apartment to another, just three miles away, and once again used Flat Rate Moving. This was my third move with Flat Rate, and I have to say that the experience was exceptional from start to finish.

From the sales team, especially Ming Wang, to the moving crew led by Angel, everyone provided outstanding service. Ming was able to offer me a very reasonable rate, and Angel and his two coworkers arrived on time and were professional, friendly, and extremely respectful of both buildings.

The crew went above and beyond throughout the entire move. As I unpacked, they took away the empty boxes while continuing to bring everything into my new apartment. They also assembled my bed and took the time to ask where I wanted specific items placed, which made the entire process so much easier.

I am extremely impressed with the service I received from Flat Rate Moving and would highly recommend them to anyone planning a move. Their professionalism, efficiency, and attention to detail made what could have been a stressful experience incredibly smooth.

Complete pros! Did a fantastic job-Orete, El Maazouz and Alexander weee outstanding and wanted to make sure we were completely satisfied and happy!

(1) Crew was 2hrs late, (2) weren’t prepared for flights even though plan specified, (3) mirror was smashed, (4) all in cost me $300 more than 2yrs ago and down another $200 on a mirror. Would not recommend.

I've moved quite a few times over many years, and this was by far the best experience. From booking to packing to the actual move, everything was handled so professionally! I especially liked how I could track the moving truck online, so I knew when to expect the delivery. Customer service was excellent and price was extremely reasonable!

Talked through the items, quoted a price. Great price. Arrived on time. Nicest people they hire to move you.
Delivered everything. No issues.

i have been using flat rate for 27 year they are amazing every time

I would not recommend flat rate to anyone after my experience. First of all, the price they quoted me on was based on a detailed description of my items and the size of my house, as well as a facetime run through with the company itself. The estimate was legally binding.Once the movers showed up, it turns out they were 15 large boxes off on their estimate and pressured me via phone call to charge me an additional $1,000 for the space it would occupy. I was not given a new contract to sign with the estimate, I was put on the phone and pressured to “approve” the charge via phone call by their representative. They are legally responsible to provide me with a contract before they can charge me. Wonderful having to shell out more money that I didn’t expect because they couldn’t estimate properly.
Secondly, the contract I signed had a stipulated delivery window. When i called, after a week of my move with no contact from them or estimates on arrival date, it turns out whoever managed their deliveries didn’t get the contract and they wanted to deliver it AFTER the window. They sent me an email with a delivery date on the last available date of our stipulated window, and acted like it was a huge favor from them to me to do so. The day of the delivery? I get a call that they will not be showing up that day, they will come 2 days later - officially outside of the delivery window. They left me, a pregnant woman, sleeping on an air mattress on the floor for 2 weeks because they couldn’t bother to TRY.
Thirdly, they never furnished me with any contracts. Not printed, emailed, snail mailed.. A contract was pushed on me the day of the move, with the movers already inside my apartment and their tools crowding my space. They were so messy they didn’t even have my estimate correctly when I called customer support on the phone. They are legally required to provide you with copies of your contract, rights, and bill of landing. I was not provided with any information on pick up or drop-off dates.
Fourth, their customer support is just ghastly. I didn’t realize they hadn’t confirmed my move until the day before when I HAD TO CALL THEM. It turns out my card had declined their charge because it seemed suspicious (normal for such a large amount) and it didn’t show up on my card, but rather than letting me know ASAP they waited until I got worried enough to do something about it.

Fifth, they were in charge of dismounting my 3 thousand dollar tv and packing it. When it arrived it was shattered, so badly it looked like rocks were hurled at it. They were also in charge of disassembling my bed frame. When it arrived, the legs were so broken it could not be put back together. I haven’t even begun to unpack boxes, I can’t wait to see the wonders that await in the boxes their inferior team packed!
Go for them if you want to have to nanny a group of professionals and if you wish to have so many infractions done to you that you need to consider legal action. As for me, I’m going with people who can handle their commitments.
The depths of hell are less torturous than dealing with this third-rate, farse of a moving company.

Smooth experience from start to finish. Sales operative, Ming, worked with us for a fair quote, everything was discussed in advance with no sudden add-ons. Moving team with Mostapha was experienced and efficient, and arrived on time. Hassle-free move, would recommend!

This was my second move with Flat Rate and couldn’t recommend them more. My moving coordinator was Adam Robb both times and he was incredibly accommodating and helpful which made the moving process smooth and helped ease my anxiety. He was also very respectful and responsive to my 1 million questions. The movers were very professional and quick. I will definitely use them again.

We moved from New York to Virginia and were nervous about how well the move would go. FlatRate went out of their way to accommodate my impossible schedule to go over our apartment and see what needed to be packed and moved. They did an excellent job packing everything we asked them to, and we were amazed at how well things were packed once we started opening the boxes! The foreman, Lamore was great with the rest of the movers, they all worked hard and were very friendly, patient, and careful. We only have one small elevator in our pre-war building and it can be tough on the residents when people are moving in or out. Our neighbors told us how much they appreciated our movers, as they went out of their way to accommodate others who needed the elevator. We felt the price was competitive with other moving companies, and everyone we interacted with were helpful and patient. Highly recommend!!

Highly recommend flat rate, I used them for packing and unpacking as well as the move and they were so professional thorough and careful with my belongings. They didn’t leave until I was fully satisfied. Highly recommend them
