Lying dishonest people.
Despite being told by Adam that my electrical problem with the fuel level gauge malfunctioning was the result of the BCM capacitor or chip malfunctioning, I sent it there twice once for the repair service and shipping cost. After getting it back the problem with the fuel gauge not working accurately or correctly did not go away. I sent it there again under warranty for a week and a half or more and got it back within 3 to 5 business days and the electrical problem was still there. Although I was refunded for the work they did, I will never do business with these people again who need to go bankrupt for the lies they tell people about any and all electrical problems their cars suffer with.
Complete scam
Complete scam. Sent in ABS module that was experiencing intermittent communication loss with wheel, a repairable fault, only to be told it was unrepairable. Sold me a "rebuilt" module that was bricked upon arrival. Chris at Module Experts refused to acknowledge knowingly selling a terminally ill module, refused to refund, refused to warranty the unit if sent in, but offered to "test the unit and advise" if I paid to send it in.
DO NOT TRUST
DO NOT TRUST! TOOK MY MONEY, REFUSED REPAIR, and GHOSTED ME! Avoid AES Modules at all cost. I sent them my trucks PCM along with my payment for repair and shipping. Once they received my module, they claimed it couldn't be fixed and immediately demanded an additional $399 to buy a new one from them. When I refused the upsale and told them I didn't want to move forward they completely quit answering my messages. They have refused refund and are now ghosting me. Now I'm out 175 dollars, my truck is still broken and I dont have a working PCM. Read the reviews before you do business with them. I wish I would have cause a lot of them are saying the same thing as me, I don't understand why they are allowed to stay in business scamming people and they are top of google search results cause its paid advertising not because they are the best.
Module Experts does not stand behind warranty
Module Experts, AKA NationWide Parts, does not stand behind their warranty. Three years after sending my ECU and getting a reman in return, the "new" ECU was determined to have gone defective by an expert mechanic. It was returned under warranty per Module Experts instructions, who were unable to provide a plug-and-play replacement. They will also not provide a refund. Do not use Module Experts. I WISH I had read the reviews before sending it off.
This is a scam company
This is a scam company. They advertise they will take care of your module. You ship it, they say they can't fix it, charge you for a diagnostic that never comes back and damage the module. Stay away!!!
Stay Clear of ModuleExperts
Like many reviews on TrustPilot, my review of ModuleExperts is not good. Stay clear of ModuleExperts. I feel I have been scammed.
I paid them over $260 to test and repair my ECM. They said it was not repairable and for an additional $600, they would send me a working module. About ten days later I called to get an update on the module. They said they would send it in the next day or two. I got the module and installed it. I got the exact same symptoms as before. I called them right away. No response.
A customer service rep called and said the ModuleExpert technician said I need to drive the car for a few days. I told her the original complaint is the engine will crank but not start. She asked what testing was done. I emailed the long list of tests performed. Then they went dark. No one returned any of my calls or emails. The service rep that answered the phone said I needed to talk to Darrel. After a few days of leaving voice mails, he did call. He was rude and was not about to offer any assurance or help.
Knowing I was not getting any help or honesty from them, I cut their warranty sticker on the module and opened the module and found my original card inside … the one they said was not repairable. I examined the card with a magnifying glass and did not find any repairs or new solder joints. I have been in the electronic business designing and repairing digital cards for 36 years. I had inspected the card prior to sending it to them. The card looked the same, no repairs.
I tried to stop payment through my credit card. The fight is still going on. I will pass this review on to BBB.
Hello guys I already posted my review…
Hello guys I already posted my review about module experts how they scammed a lot of us if you are reading this please file a complaint with the bbb so they can shut them down they are rude and a bunch of liars they lied about fixing my module and charged me the diagnostic fee on top of that it wasn’t even my original module so please go to the bbb website and file a complaint these monsters need to be stopped
I called asking the process for getting…
I called asking the process for getting my PCM repaired and the guy rudely HUNG UP on me! I tried calling back of course he would not pick up the phone, I eventually got someone and asked for a supervisor, and she said that she monitors the calls. Basically, nothing was going to happen. Well, it did I took my module and money to a competitor.
Waste of money and time.
I paid to get my BCM repaired on my 2010 Audi S4. After receiving it, I got a call from Adam who said it could not be fixed and needed a full replacement. They offered a full replacement that would be fully functional and vin matched to my current vehicle so I would just be able to plug it in and go. This was not at all the case. It appears they just bought a different BCM, put there stickers on it, and shipped it to me. None of the recoding appears to have been done as after install it would not start the car at all or work with the key. Save your time (2 + weeks waiting for me) and hard earned money and look elsewhere for solutions. Their website should be called ScamExperts instead of ModuleExperts.
Avoid this place
I called the company and spoke with a rude agent. I asked if they could fix a broken pin. I sent It in for the broken pin, it was sent back still with a broken pin. I emailed them multiple times, asking for a refund, but I still haven’t received a response.
RIP OFF
I am 73 years old, Module Experts is the WORST company I have ever dealt with in my lifetime. I don't know how these people stay in business. I ordered a module online from them for my 2015 Cadillac SRX. When it arrived there was a note inside stating module would need to be programmed. The gentleman from Module Experts gave me the contact info of a programmer. He couldn't get it to program. I then took it to the dealership, same thing. I called Module Experts and explained my situation. They told me to bring it back to them. After standing outside in the parking lot for over 20 minutes someone finally came to the door but would not allow me access. You would think they were housed in the Pentagon or the White House. The lady said she would send it back to their shop. Ten days later I picked it up, took it to another programmer at a dealership, it would not program. I called Module Experts, they said the programmers I was using didn't know what they were doing. One of the mechanics had worked at a dealership for over 30 years. Remember, one of the programmers was one they recommended also. I spent a total of $927.38 trying to get the module installed and working. This is above and beyond the cost (Over $900) of the module itself. Each time I drove to their facility (3 times) it was a 92 mile round trip drive. I asked if they would refund any of the money I had spent with the programmers and was told "NO". After finally getting them to agree to a refund, I called another company, the guy was very knowledgeable. He asked me for the VIN number, which shocked me because Module Experts had never asked. He said I need the VIN number to program it before I send it to you. The module arrived two days later, I had it installed and my vehicle is driving perfect as of this date. Cost $659.00. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE, THEY ARE BAD NEWS. THEY ARE NOT TRUSTWORTHY AT ALL.
SCAM!!!
I sent 2 modules to this place within a month. Neither was fixed , weeks of downtime, poor customer service and still charged for repairs that were not done. This place is a scam!
Wanted a TCM repaired
Wanted a TCM repaired. Was told $168 + lifetime warranty. Sent my unit to them. Got a call it was unrepairable but could get me one for an extra $345. Ok'd that. Got a unit. It wasn't any good. Did all the stuff (go to 2 shops to get car diagnosed, + paperwork) to qualify for warranty claim. (couple $100 there). Sent unit back & got another one. It was no good. Sent that back. Heard nothing for 2 weeks. Called them. "We can't help you. We credited your CC. Called Visa got most money but not all. Called back. Was told then there was a non refundable diagnostic charge. Did the math on all that. They still owed me $29+. Called them back. The hung up on me. All told this was 8 days short of 4 months.
STEER CLEAR OF THIS JOINT... YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!
At first, the rep I spoke with (Adam) seemed knowledgeable about the repair of my Cadillac ECM and stated if it could not be repaired they could at least copy the security info onto a remanufactured ECM advertised on their website to start at only $199.99. Seemed like a fair deal until he called me after their "assessment" and said mine was unrepairable (no details) but they'd be happy to sell me a reman unit if I'd just authorize a $700 charge ($150 for the diagnostic + $550 for the reman ECM). Wow, I had sticker shock and when I asked for details (and what happened to the $199/99 reman price?) all I got was a one line reply, OK, we’ll just send the unit back to you, and you can find another one elsewhere." No explanation, no options, no nothing - just plain RUDE!
NOT IMPRESSED - Especially since majority of (reputable) competitors offer reman ECMs for $250-450! Guess it's partly my fault, in that I failed to do proper vetting ahead of time (most TrustPilot reviews I subsequently saw online are TERRIBLE - only 1 star out of 5)... Hated to suffer additional delay (suspect that may be part of their business model), but wasn't willing to overpay on general principle. Went elsewhere & got a reman ECM for $249 vice $550. My advice - STAY AWAY from ModuleExperts!
This place is dishonest and a rip off
Do not ever send a module to module experts I purchased a module from them in 2020 and six years later my car computer went out again. I called them up. They told me I had a lifetime warranty on it once they got the module they stated I only had one year warranty on it and I would have to pay 250 dollars to get it fixed. I did pay the 250 to get it fixed. They told me that it could not be repaired. They only sent me $72 back of my 250s dollars stating that it was a diagnostics fee that wasn’t told to me. I talked to them on July 8 and she told me that I will be getting a refund because they could not repair the module. Everyone reading this please do not send them anything. I am going on social media and make a social media report about module experts.
I sent my pcm to be checked and they…
I sent my pcm to be checked and they said it was faulty and unrepairable. wanted 500.00 plus for a replacement. I got a new pcm myself and had it programmed to my car and had the same exact problem as old pcm.turned out it wasn't a faulty pcm at all. got took.
05 Silverado PCM rip off
My son has a 2005 Chevy Silverado and the electric fans quit working. After scanning the vehicle I was able to diagnose that the driver was out in the PCM. The ground signal was not being sent to the fan relays and I spoke with Adam at module experts. He stated for $150 they could repair it and return it to me with a three year warranty. He then emailed me saying the PCM was not repairable that the chip was bad and wanted to charge me a total of $700 for a rebuilt PCM. This is a scam. All they need to do was replace the one transistor. Now they’re charging me $100 to get back my old PCM.
