Due to illness we are a few months behind on our line of credit. I have went into CIBC multiple times to ask what the amount that is in arrears is so we can pay it and they said they can not see anything on the computer. They cancelled our account and sent it to a lawyer to take us to court and take over our home which has no mortgage. After paying into disability and life insurance with Canada Life that they offered us in 2005 and we paid over 200 hundred thousand they denied us the insurance and will not tell us what we owe so we can catch up on our arrears for a few months. There is something wrong here. Online banking is blocked also. So they set you up for failure. This is complete fraud and must be reported to authorities and the media. I have reported it to the Anti Fraud Center, The Ombudsman for Insurance and CCIR The Canadian Council of Insurance Regulators. I have sent out some letters to the media and am awaiting a response. I want to make people aware of this scam. They need to unlock my account so we can pay the few months arears which should have been paid by our disability insurance. I would never recommend the CIBC Bank or Canada Life. If you are going through the same consider a class action lawsuit with us. Lets all do this together.

We have paid into CIBC life and disability insurance since 2005. Recently, when we fell ill and needed to use the disability part of our policy, CIBC cancelled it. This is a bank scam, and people need to be aware. All those years of paying into it were wasted—close to two hundred thousand dollars lost. We are advocating so that others are aware and do not purchase this insurance from CIBC bank. If anyone else has experienced this, please report it to the Anti-Fraud Centre as we did.
