I'd really like to start using Teachable again. UnfortunatelyI hit a glitch with deleting an old school. Chatbot said they'd refer to a human and I waited 45 minutes before giving up. So, nope.
Sunny answered quickly and made sure I understood the answers I was given. I also was advised to follow up with her if I needed more help.

I asked four questions on what students are permitted to do during a course. The answers were quick and concise. I will include them in my Q&A. Thanks so much.

Teachable does a nice job on the actual selling side - checkout, payment plans, subscriptions, and the student experience all feel well thought out. My main hesitation would be the transaction fee on the Starter plan. Once you’re making regular sales, moving to a higher tier probably makes more sense.

DO NOT USE THIS PLATFORM.
Legitimately THE WORST platform I have ever used. Not only is the whole design incredibly, unnecessarily convoluted and complicated, it CONSTANTLY glitches, coupons stop working for no reason, the currency changes regardless of settings, and try to get support - no chance. A simple reply takes 2 days, then when you answer, it’s another 2 days to get the next reply. God only knows how long it would take to actually complete a conversation. The fees are ridiculous. The worst designed software I’ve ever encountered. I will be transferring my course to another supplier ASAP and will never use this again, and will be ensuring none of my colleagues do either. Maybe they’ll reply here quicker than they do on their ‘help chat’.

Very good company. Recommended to anyone looking for an interesting/profitable 'side-hustle'.

My Experience with Teachable
I have been using Teachable for nine years, and while getting timely help with issues has always been a challenge, the platform used to have a Creator community page where creators could share information, ask questions, and help one another. That was eventually discontinued. From my perspective, this was disappointing because it also eliminated a place where creators could openly discuss concerns about the platform and its pricing.
One of my biggest concerns now is how Teachable’s pricing works as your business grows. Even if you are paying for one of their more expensive plans—$300+ per month—there can still be limits based on the number of learners you have. Once you reach certain enrollment levels, you may be charged additional fees per learner.
There are also transaction fees when students purchase courses directly through Teachable. For example, if you generate $10,000 in direct sales, a 7.5% transaction fee would mean another $750 in fees.
In other words, the more successful your business becomes, the more additional costs you can face. For a growing education business, that can become expensive very quickly.
I also know approximately ten other creators I have worked with who are now moving their courses to other learning management platforms because of these issues. Teachable seems to rely, in part, on the idea that moving an established course business to another platform will be difficult. In my experience, however, moving your courses and content to another LMS is much easier than you might think.
After nine years with the platform, I have seen significant changes, and unfortunately, I believe the platform has declined in several important areas. With increasing competition from other LMS providers, I am not sure Teachable will be able to maintain its position if it continues down this path.
If you are considering Teachable for your courses, I strongly recommend doing your research and comparing the total cost, learner limits, transaction fees, customer support, and how easily you can move your content before making a long-term commitment.

Overall the product is great. I, however, would like to see more flexibility when creating a course certificate for my users since I lack some skills necessary to customize it to my liking.

First of all I love teachable and I am very happy to have a chatbot now that can give me a quick answers instead of me having to look and search through the help files.

As a course creator I spent 7 years at teachable, but I don't want to put up with the intolerable conditions here anymore: poor software, skyrocketing prices, no support.

Dear Course Support Team,
I am writing to apply for a full refund of the automatic renewal charge deducted today via my credit card.
I originally planned to cancel this subscription before expiration but forgot the operation accidentally. After this renewal deduction, I have not logged into the course platform, watched any lesson videos or used any course services at all. I have already turned off auto-renewal completely now.
Credit card last 4 digits: 5489
Billing date (August 7)
Cancellation date (August )

Please approve the full refund and return the payment to my original credit card account within 3-5 working days.
Waiting for your formal reply and refund confirmation.
Best regards

I began using Teachable several years ago. I slacked off during Covid; I regret not going full steam then. Now I'm back into Teachable. It's like an old, powerful friend. I will make Teachable courses out of every live course I have ever presented. I've tried other platforms. Not one holds a candle to the power...and support...of Teachable.
