The website is a little slow and at times difficult to navigate but once I got completed it was great.
I booked a car for my trip to Sicily, but my credit card was rejected at the desk. I am still checking with my bank to understand what happened.
To get the car, I ended up paying more than double the original rental price, which I believe was disproportionate. The staff was friendly, but unfortunately not very helpful as you are literally left with very little options.
What was especially frustrating was that I was told at the desk that there would be no additional payment beyond what I had agreed considering the situation. I later discovered that I had been charged an extra €146.
This literally ruined both the beginning and the end of my holiday. I have submitted a formal complaint to Drivalia and hope to find a solution. Otherwise, I will escalate the matter further, as I believe it is beyond acceptable.

They were really good. I know there are a lot of comments on Drivalia scamming people but this process was super smooth for me. You just need to reach there at the designated time with a credit card in the name of the person who has booked. That's all. They gave me a new Fiat Panda and was very good.

Avoid At all costs. They apply arbitrary hidden charges (look up online, many people are left without a car and paid in full) and you may end up without a car and without your money!
They try to charge you almost 60 extra euros per day if you give a debit card for the tank deposit, they won’t allow you to pay any other way but the old fashioned way, and they cancel your reservation for no valid reason, not even in their conditions: they arbitrarily denied the use of my Revolut and neon card without it being in their policy, I offered to pay the deposit with Apple Pay, transfer, e banking or even introducing or scanning a credit card from my husband, it was all denied so I ended up paying the full car rental and insurances and without a car and they don’t want to even give me my money back. This is not ok. The people at the counter are incredibly impolite, unhelpful and rude and hey even screamed at me and told me I knew nothing about their laws when I pointed them to the italian government page where it literally says they cannot have a full scan of my id just to check I am who I say. Avoid at all costs!!

This is a RIP OFF company. DO NOT hire through them. I rented a car for 7 days while in Sicily in June this year. On the way to the airport we stopped and filled the car with fuel(as per the contract) and when we arrived to drop off the car at tye airport drop off area the key had gone. We searched the car , everyone's bags and it was nowhere to be found. I told the man at the desk and told me this was not possible and I must find the key. However after searching our car and bags it was no where to be found. I was told that I would be charged a fee (€250 for the lost key - fair enough) to replace the key and the man also told me there was no spare key to the car they would have to get the spare key sent from Rome and it would take 2 days. He refused to accept the fact the car was in their designated drop off zone and that I would be contacted by Drivalia. I did a police report (as requested by the car company) and flew out back to Poland a few hours later. After 2 months had passed I was then charged an extra €450 for an extra 13 days of car hire. Now after months of emails back and forth to this place they are not interested in anything other than ripping me off. This place should be investigated as I'm sure I'm
Not the first person they have "ripped off" never again will I rent from this place, I will make sure everyone I know NEVER hires from this company.

The main issue was we had to wait over 1 hour to be served at Rome Airport. Also the car battery went flat after I had the hazard lights on in Bari for 10 mins.
We used Drivalia in Cagliari and the process was very good
I rent quite often with Drivalia. This time a car upgrade with a car which drove already 120,000 km. Last time I was downgraded to an embarrassing DR4 which was full of scratches and hail damages. The time before a brand new 5008 electric. Hit and miss. It used to be
much better. Unfortunately they are going to lose a customer soon.

Use with caution. My vehicle broke down - electronic ignition wouldn't activate. Called roadside assistance. Waited for 2-3 hours. Called again - hadn't recorded the first call! Waited another 2 hours for their tow truck - they took car away. I've been getting sms reminders ever since (almost a month) to return the vehicle and today received an invoice for almost 3000 euro, which they tried to deduct from my account without permission. No response to my emails, except to acknowledge that they received my email!! Terrible customer service (I can forgive the car fault) but their record keeping is atrocious.

First time I used this company and it's been a big disappointment. Chose a mid size car and was given a huge Chinese SUV. When I told the guy I wasn't comfortable driving a large vehicle, he just said they didn't have cars left! Also, the car provided was a dual fuel and when I asked how to switch between fuels, the guy said he didn't know!
Car didn't have a drop of windscreen water, was dirty inside with loose peanuts inside the glove compartment and greasy marks around the gear. I mentioned this to Drivalia and no apology was given.
A little mark found on one door on collection (was told no damage recorded for this car) but unfortunately the picture I took wasn't clear enough as it was a sunny day; it wasn't accepted and I was charged €207! Basically this company did everything not not help and they never replied to my emails.
If you check other reviews, others say they were charged for marks that were already there! Basically another way to make money from you!
Avoid avoid avoid!!
The only good thing was the girl at the main desk that was polite.
Planetrentalcars (the company through I booked this car) eventually reimbursed me via the insurance I had (still lost money due to bank euro to pound exchange fee) plus gave me a goodwill refund.
Never again Drivalia! Don't ask me to write to your email standard sentence, you won't help anyway.

1/5 — APPALLING EXPERIENCE AT DRIVALIA PALERMO
Without question, one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a car-hire company.
From the moment we arrived at the Drivalia desk in Palermo, it felt as though the priority was not to help us but to find a way of extracting considerably more money from our booking.
Our flight/journey had been delayed and, importantly, we had contacted Drivalia BEFORE leaving the UK to inform them. We eventually arrived approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes late.
We were then told that our reserved car was GONE and that our only option was to take a larger vehicle which would cost us OVER €1,000 EXTRA.
This is where the situation became absolutely disgraceful.
They claimed they had not received our call and gave us the impression that our original vehicle was no longer available. However, from what we subsequently discovered, we believed the car WAS still there and they were intending to cancel our booking because we were late, despite us having contacted them.
Even more disturbing was the behaviour of the two young women working at the desk.
They clearly did not realise that I could understand Sicilian/Italian. I could hear them talking between themselves about the situation and, in my view, almost egging each other on about making us lose the car because we were late.
It became PERSONAL.
Their attitude was rude, arrogant and completely inappropriate for people dealing with paying customers. Instead of trying to resolve the situation, I felt we were being deliberately put under pressure to lose the car we had already booked and pay more than €1,000 extra for another vehicle.
What they also didn’t realise was that I spoke with the car-rental operator at the neighbouring desk. I was told that we were apparently not the only customers experiencing this sort of situation that day.
That made what was happening even more concerning.
I have travelled to Sicily and hired cars many times, and I cannot remember ever being treated with such contempt by staff at a rental desk.
Being delayed by 90 minutes should not turn into an opportunity to try to charge a customer more than €1,000 extra—particularly when the customer has already contacted the company to advise them of the delay.
The most shocking part wasn’t even the money. It was listening to the conversation between the staff when they thought I couldn’t understand them.
Absolutely disgraceful customer service.
My advice to anyone considering Drivalia Palermo: BE VERY CAREFUL. Keep evidence of every telephone call and communication, take screenshots of your booking and document exactly what happens at the desk.
After this experience, I would NEVER knowingly book with Drivalia Palermo again.

I had the worst experience with this company. Avoid at all costs. They give you a dirty car and most of its damages won't be listed in the documentation. Then after drop off send you an invoice of over 1000€ damages that were pre-existing. The whole customer support discussion afterwards is made so you lose patience and drop your case. They won't accept your evidence. Never renting from them again.

We spent three hours waiting at the airport to get the car, during which time we received no information or indication of when the car would be ready. As a result, we missed four scheduled meetings.
I understand that a 45-minute wait is normal, and I have no issue with that. The problem was that no one was able to provide us with any information or an estimated waiting time.
Given that there are other car rental companies at Malpensa Airport, I can say with certainty that I will not use your company again.

I rented a car in their Venice airport office. I will try to make it short. I don't know how I could have made this mistake, but it seems I had reserved an electric car. At the counter, I was told that a gas-powered car would cost an additional $600. I agreed. But when I returned the car (after a long wait), what I signed on their tablet didn't show any additional charge. When I got home, I found I’d been charged an extra 658 euros. I tried to dispute the charge through my credit card company, but to no avail. Drivalia basically stole about $350 from me—out of the $600 they’d told me it would cost. Avoid this company!

That the car is returned at 9 pm
The driver couldn't leave it for too many reasons:
1- The breaks were not breaking and the sign was on at the inspection time which incurred dangerous situation for the driver
2- the front glass was so dirty that it blurred the vision at peak sun time
3-i had to wait 40 mn to get the car ready for use which incurred delays in my meetings and plans
I would like to inform you that the company lacks experience in handling the daily work
And is putting in danger the life of the drivers.
Prompt action is needed

I rented a vehicle from Drivalia in Rome and returned it at Fiumicino Airport. After the rental, I was charged €432.65, including alleged vehicle damage and fuel/refuelling charges.
After I disputed the charges and provided evidence, Drivalia eventually refunded €48.35 for the fuel/refuelling portion. However, they continue to hold me responsible for €384.30 of alleged damage that I dispute.
Fortunately, when I picked up the vehicle, I recorded a 50-second walk-around video documenting its condition. The original video was recorded on my iPhone shortly after pickup and shows the vehicle's pre-existing condition.
The most frustrating part has been Drivalia's handling of this evidence.
They demand the original file with metadata, but the original video is too large to send as a normal email attachment. I therefore provided access to the original video through a download link. Drivalia repeatedly responds that company policy prevents them from opening external links.
I then repeatedly asked them to provide an alternative method for submitting the large original file. Instead of solving the problem or escalating my case to a supervisor, I keep receiving essentially the same response telling me to attach the original file to an email.
Even more concerning, I repeatedly asked Drivalia to provide their own photographs showing the condition of the same areas of the vehicle when it was handed to me. This is particularly relevant because Drivalia's own documentation already identifies multiple pre-existing damages on the vehicle.
Instead of addressing that request and comparing the pickup condition with the return condition, I have received repetitive Customer Service responses focused almost entirely on how I must submit my evidence.
So the situation is remarkable:
Drivalia wants original evidence from me, but will not provide a practical method for receiving my large original video; meanwhile, my repeated requests for their own pickup photographs and escalation to a supervisor have not been substantively addressed.
I have made numerous good-faith attempts to resolve this directly with the company.
At this point, because the remaining €384.30 is still disputed, I am proceeding through my credit-card issuer and considering the appropriate Italian consumer-protection complaint process.
My advice to anyone renting from this company: photograph and video every centimetre of the vehicle before driving away, including bumpers, wheels, doors, mirrors, windshield, fuel gauge and even small covers or trim pieces. Preserve the ORIGINAL files and metadata.
Based on my experience, I would not rent from Drivalia again and cannot recommend them.
