Large Capital Gains Errors With No Meaningful Support
I’ve had a very frustrating experience with CoinTracker support while trying to prepare my crypto taxes.
My account has serious calculation issues: Bitget margin transactions are being classified as loan repayments and generating very large capital gains, while other transactions have missing or zero cost basis, which is also significantly inflating my gains.
I have repeatedly contacted support and explained these specific issues, but instead of addressing the incorrect cost basis and transaction classifications, I continue receiving generic responses such as being told there is a “CSV formatting issue” and to wait 7 days for an automatic import.
That response does not address the problem I reported.
What makes this especially frustrating is that CoinTracker is asking me to upgrade to a $1,999 plan to obtain the tax forms, while I still cannot get meaningful help correcting the underlying transactions that those tax forms would be based on.
I don’t mind paying for a premium service if the tax calculations are reliable and there is knowledgeable support available when something goes wrong. But paying thousands of dollars while having to manually investigate major cost-basis and capital-gains errors myself is extremely disappointing, especially with a tax deadline approaching.
I would like CoinTracker to provide actual technical assistance with the account instead of sending generic responses that do not address the reported issue.

Had this a couple years and so far it has worked great. Waiting for the day investments can be uploaded directly into tax software without manual adding it all.

Handled complexities well
It was able to handle not just buying, selling, moving crypto around between exchanges and cold wallets, but also easily handled defi borrowing and repayment.
