Ci sono molti modi in cui si esprime la Libertà individuale.
Una, è quella di pensiero. Automaticamente, diviene quella di parola.
In tutto il mondo, ma soprattutto in Italia, libertà di pensiero e di parola sono diventate merce rara. I contenuti sono per lo più contraffatti e manipolati, o censurati e cancellati. Dal 2020, trovare informazioni con cui confrontare la nostra situazione italiana a quella estera (capendo che siamo TUTTI sulla stessa barca), o trovare informazioni diverse (rinvenibili in lingua straniera e qui ignorate o falsificate), è diventato urgente. (2024: con l’attuale criminale Digital Act Europeo, poi, è diventato vitale). Ne ho fatto quindi la mia personalissima, piccola ‘missione’, aprendo il mio canale Substack, FINORA dimostratosi uno spazio libero. Traduco e divulgo dagli anni ‘90, ma sempre per piattaforme altrui. Ora lo faccio con una realtà mia: Traduzioni dal Mondo Libero.
Aggiornamento 2023: Sollecitata da una percentuale molto maggiore di lettori anglofoni, superiori anche ad eventuali lettori italiani all’estero (meravigliandomi non poco!), la mia pagina doveva diventare bi-lingue, con la versione italiana E inglese ad ogni uscita. A volte, anche tedesca.
Non essendo questa una ‘redazione’ con uno staff, ma lo sforzo di una singola persona che CREDE all’importanza del singolo impegno di ciascuno (e senza aver mai attivato la sottoscrizione a pagamento), la frequenza d’uscita degli articoli (“tradu-articoli”) o di interi video/documentari che sottotitolo, non è purtroppo quella che l’urgenza dei tempi richiederebbe (vorrei pubblicarne OGNI giorno se potessi) … Ogni traduzione, a seconda del grado di difficoltà del tema o dello stile dell’Autore, ha una propria tempistica di elaborazione. A volte è fulminea; a volte necessita di lunghe ore, anche notturne, dedicate ad ‘ascoltare’ le parole e il pensiero dell’Autore - come in una sorta di telepatia animica - prima di trasferirle nella nostra lingua.

Proprio per quanto sopra descritto, nonostante l’avvento sempre più a portata di mano della IA (che accelererebbe il mio lavoro, imbrogliando), dichiaro che il mio è un sito DE-INTELLIGENTARTIFICIALIZZATO. Il mio nuovo disclaimer è:

There are many ways in which individual Freedom expresses itself.
One, is freedom of thinking. Automatically, it becomes freedom of speech.
All over the world, but especially in Italy (where I live), freedom of thought and speech have become rare commodities. Content is mostly faked and manipulated, or censored and deleted. Since 2020, finding information with which to compare our Italian situation to foreign ones (understanding that we are ALL in the same boat), or finding different information abroad (ignored or falsified in Italy), has become urgent. (2024: with the current censorship of the European Digital Act, moreover, it has become vital.) I therefore made it my very personal, little 'mission', opening my TdML reality on Substack... SO FAR still proving to be a free space. I have been translating and disseminating since the 1990s, but always for other people's platforms. Now I do it with a reality of my own: Traduzioni dal Mondo Libero, i.e. Translations from the Free World.
2023 update: Prompted by a much greater percentage of English-speaking readers, superior even to any Italian readers abroad (surprising me in no small measure!), my page had to becomes bi-lingual, with Italian AND English versions at every issue. Sometimes, even German.
Since this is not an 'editorial office' with a staff, but the individual effort of a person who BELIEVES in the importance of each one's individual commitment (and without ever having activated paid subscription), the frequency of release of articles or entire subtitled videos/documentaries, is unfortunately not what the urgency of the times would require (I would like to publish EVERY day if I could) ... Each translation, depending on the degree of difficulty of the topic or Author's writing style, has its own processing timeframe. Sometimes it is lightning-fast; sometimes it requires long hours, even at night, devoted to 'listening' to the Author's words and thought -- as in a kind of soul telepathy -- before transferring them into our language.
Update 2024. Precisely because of the above, despite the increasingly handy advent of AI (which would speed up my work, cheating), my new disclaimer is:
NO ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE WAS MISTREATED TO PRODUCE THIS TRANSLATION 😉
(and for that reason, it may contain imperfections or oversights, human-like…)
