About Silicon Sea

After a decade reporting on tech (ex-CNET, TechRepublic), I’m still fascinated by the ways it’s shaping who we are and how we live. In fact, that was my whole beat. I wrote stories about virtual reality that helps astronauts survive spacewalks, supercomputers that make wine, and the years-long quest to build a better tornado warning system. At the core of any of these stories, no matter how wild and futuristic, were humans — cheeky, curious, resourceful and almost always driven and reaching for a better way to live.

What I learned was that tech is vast and awe-inspiring, but the waters are choppy as hell. This monthly newsletter will dive into the ways tech is changing us. And hopefully, serve as a buoy in the Silicon Sea.
