Hello Dear Friends,
Allow me to introduce myself.
I’m Rosie Acosta. I am an Author, and Mindfulness Teacher. I grew up in East LA in the early 90’s in an environment designed for me to fail. And BOY DID I fail. I learned a lot from my mistakes, and when I was a teenager my path was paved by the lessons I learned from practicing Mindfulness.
My journey with this newsletter began over a decade ago when I started my blog, Organic Mexican Girl. Some of you may remember those early days. What began as a small project has blossomed into something truly special, and it's all thanks to you. This newsletter has always been my preferred way to connect with all of you—no algorithms, no random strangers, just us, a cherished community that I hold close to my heart. Your presence fills me with immense gratitude.
In recent years, particularly since 2020, this newsletter has become my primary channel for connecting with you. It has witnessed incredible moments, and last year was no exception. The Radically Loved podcast now boasts a brilliant new host, my dear Director of Operations, Tessa Tovar. My book gradually climbed to the top of Amazon's Men's Spirituality Category and even reached the coveted #1 spot. Torry and I also managed to complete our house renovation—well, mostly! Those of you who've undergone a remodel know the challenges it can pose.
But amid the successes, there were challenges too. I poured time, money, and energy into two major projects that ultimately unraveled by the end of summer. I had to bid farewell to my beloved Abuelita, and my family faced some trying situations. Such is life.
Throughout the years, I've shared my life's journey, from starting a podcast in 2015 to writing a book and weathering rejections from publishers, to embarking on a years-long fertility journey. This newsletter has been my platform for baring my soul, more than I ever could in a podcast or book, because it's our direct connection, our community. And I'm eager to continue sharing with you here.
In early 2023, I made the conscious choice to reduce my time on Instagram, my favorite social media platform. I realized it was negatively impacting me, thanks to its unfriendly algorithm. Even when some of my projects faced setbacks, I found myself preferring to work on something with uncertain outcomes rather than scrolling endlessly through a feed that wasn't curated by me. I mention this because I want a stronger connection with those of you who genuinely want to be here and derive value from our interactions. I've also hinted at Book #2, which is currently in progress, and I can't wait to offer you some sneak peeks.
One of the most common requests I receive across all my platforms is for guidance on strengthening mindfulness practices, relationship advice, support for mindful resets, and simply the desire to connect with a loving community—a place where you can feel you're not alone. No divisiveness, no judgment, just a Mindful Love Hub. To do this right, I've made the move to Substack.
So, I'm expanding the scope of this newsletter to improve our communication and provide even better service to you.
