Dyspraxia is a neurodivergence primarily characterized by psychomotor, perceptual, and equilibrium impairments. It is also known as Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD). However, it is much more than just impaired motor skills. Impairments of executive function, short-term memory, and cognitive processing speed may also be aspects of dyspraxia. Like other neurodivergences, dyspraxia has numerous implications for broader systemic reforms within society. I also write about these dimensions of the neurodivergent experience. I am the author of Disrupted Pathways: A Dyspraxic Odyssey. It is my memoir about coming of age as a late-diagnosed and previously misdiagnosed dyspraxic individual. Moreover, I wrote the book in a way that will hopefully illuminate how wider societal factors impact the lives of neurodivergent people. Thank you for your support!
