The logic/journey used on sms needs improvement. Since I’ve contacted several dealers about different 4Runners, I think the auto text message should include the link to the car, not just the ID number... See more

I would give less stars if I could. Zero. Negative one hundred. This is a scam, and the dealer we drove two cars out to see (one to sell, one to leave in) was even upset that CarGurus keeps sending people to him with a false, inflated offer and zero notification to him. This was a terrible experience and they should be shut down.

While José provided efficient service and initially earned a five-star rating, I discovered a significant issue regarding transparency on August 25. A couple of months after purchasing the vehicle. During the financing process, the dealership stated that a $2,000 Assurant preventive maintenance package was required to finalize the vehicle purchase. However, I have since learned this package was entirely unnecessary, as the used BMW I purchased is already covered under an active BMW extended maintenance package until 2028.Furthermore, I was explicitly told that the Assurant package could be utilized at any service center of my choice. In reality, it is only accepted at Greenway Mazda. I advise future buyers to exercise caution and thoroughly verify all financing requirements, as the dealership was not transparent regarding these required add-ons.
While I received an initial outreach from the dealership (weeks after my initial post), my follow-up request to identify the appropriate manager to speak with was ignored. This communication gap indicates a lack of commitment to resolving this matter efficiently.

Car Gurus seems to provide an easy way to compare used car prices, options, car history and offers and opinions of what is a good or not so good deal. Where they fall way short is allowing dealers to post ads that say fees are included in the price, when almost 100% do not.DOC fees are not included in the advertised price. They seem perfectly ok with their subscribing dealers to be very deceptive in this area. These fees ( registration fee are also not included) can range from $500 to $1000(Maxon) for nebulous processing fees. Read the dealer declaration at the bottom of the page. The BBB has given Car Gurus an A+ rating even with numerous complaints about this issue. All one big club.

I would not use Cargurus for searching a vehicle. The system is primarily an AI based service. In my experience AI searched for a vehicle and when I found one at a dealer AI made an appointment for a test drive but never contacted the dealer. It was a big waste of time.

Promising results for Dealers and offering additional products with a 30 day cancellation period. I was told by Jeremyah to write an email and the products would be cancelled at no additional cost. Two months later Jeremyah and his associate Tyler never processed the cancellation. It has become a full time job trying to get the cancellation processed. They lied to our face then never processed our request to cancel. DO NOT TRUST ANYTHING THEY SAY !!!!

Dealers stay away from this platform. The lead quality is garbage and the contract is a scam!
They signed our dealership up with promises of high-quality leads. The leads were the worst leads I have ever seen. Not only did we get very few of them, but the ones we did get are the pickiest, entitled customers I have ever seen.
They charged us $350 a month for 10 cars where as I was getting high quality leads for under $10 a car on Facebook.
The cherry on top is the contract. Almost every contract is breakable for a cancellation fee. These bloodsuckers won't let you out no matter what and will threaten legal action right away if you beg them to make some sort of compromise.
I stopped using them about 4 months into my contract because the service was so bad but I have a one year contract so now I've been stuck paying hundreds of dollars a month for nothing.
Also the account reps suck. My account rep called me once to schedule a onboarding then cancelled the onboarding last second and I never heard from them again. Reached out to them for the cancellation few months down the road and they told me to contact accounting. I contacted account and they told me to contact the rep. Eventually I contacted sales who wasted no time to threaten legal and financail action lol.
Moral of the story is do not under any circumstance sign a contract with these guys!

Total clown show in my opinion. Reached out to 4 auto buying sites, CarGurus had competitive bids with dealers close to me. I chose Lexus Carlsbad. Communication with them was poor and they seemed surprised when I showed up for my appointment despite several messages confirming it. The salesman there treated me with suspicion because I hadn’t traded my vehicle into the dealership where I bought my new vehicle – made me totally uncomfortable. He also claimed to know the sales manager from whom I had purchased my new vehicle which was clearly a lie. Then of course he lowered the boom with a lowball offer $4K below the quoted offer (and my vehicle was in pristine condition). He said I should complain to CarGurus. I told him they wasted my time and he said their time was wasted. I sold the car to another service that honored their quote and had a check in hand an hour after the debacle with CarGurus and Lexus Carlsbad. Save yourself the grief, go with Carmax or Carvana and avoid CarGurus and Lexus Carlsbad at all cost.

Recently, I was curious on my vehicle. This is the biggest joke in the world. My vehicle is worth 17,000 to 20,000 dollars. They told me 5,000 the lyft kit on my vehicle is 5,000 alone. Do what the old-fashioned way sell it in front of your house. Get what it's really worth. Not like a company from California. That just wants to rob you and then turn around and make 20 grand off your vehicle. I do not recommend this company at all. I don't know how they're in business. I will never recommend this company to anyone ever.

Had a great experience with Dream Drive Auto! The whole process was smooth and easy, and picking up the car was a great experience. The team was friendly, helpful, and made everything straightforward from start to finish. Really happy with the vehicle and the service I received. Definitely recommend Dream Drive Auto to anyone looking for a car in London!

I tried to sell my car through CarGurus. The process was straightforward...so it seemed. I received an offer, via email, from a car dealer close to my home and was subsequently contacted by the used car manager. He said I needed only to bring the car in for a quick inspection and they'd buy the car on the spot. I did as requested. The car is like new, just as I had presented it online. After his inspection, the used car manager admitted it was as advertised and proceeded to offer me $3K less than the original written offer. He said the original offer was a retail price. Typical car dealer bait and switch. Beware when using CarGurus.

While they are great for sortability and specific searches, a lot of the shady dealers with rebuilt cars are alternate-spacing the word "rebuilt", so that the Car Gurus bots don't flag them as "no rating".
This allows the sleaze ball dealer to secure a "good" or "great" deal rating, when the car is rebuilt.

My experience with CarGurus from Roseville, California and the staff George was really good, he helped us through out the whole way and he had good communication and understanding of getting my first ever car with a great deal on getting the car. He helped us get it done and I left with a huge smile on my face. The service that he provided and proved to us that he’s a great worker!

I saw an advert for a calm that I wanted to enquire about but all I could do is have a really inane drawn out chat with a chat bot on WhatsApp. No direct communication with these seller whatsoever even after so-called promises to get them to call me etc. 100% waste of time! At least I know now never to use car guru if I want to sell a car

The Cargurus website listed a transportation cost from the dealer to my location. The dealer does not provide transportation. I called Cargurus and they blamed the dealer. The dealer said the transportation cost was added by Cargurus. Long story short the cost went from "$222" to $375. The site cannot be trusted.

Received an offer from Prescott Valley Kia of $8546 through CarGurus.com. When I arrived at the dealer with my 85 year old father they started negotiations at $6100, more than $2k below the "OFFER" I received!??!! They behaved just like a dealership from the 90s. "We'll see what we can do.... Let me talk to my manager.... OK, now I'll take it to the big boss." Finally settled at $7500 only becuase I couldn't put my dad through the effort again. This is shameful behavior.
If it is not an offer then don't call it an offer. Be honest and upfront right from the start.
Oh, and the clincher, they listed the car for $12,599!

I used CarGurus to get an estimate for my daughters’s used car. I entered all of the requested information accurately, including the actual mileage on her vehicle. After submitting the information, I was directed to this dealership
Volkswagen of West Islip, NY because they supposedly offered the highest value for my car.
When my husband arrived, the dealership inspected her vehicle and confirmed that everything was in good condition. However, they then offered him $6,000 less than the amount I was initially quoted, claiming that the mileage was too high.
My disappointment is that the mileage information had already been provided when I completed the online form. If the mileage made my car worth less, why wasn’t that considered before I was asked to spend my time coming to the dealership?
The experience felt misleading and frustrating. I understand that estimates can change after an inspection, but there should be transparency from the beginning, especially when all of the vehicle information was provided upfront.

We found this vehicle listed on CarGurus and purchased it from KNA Motors. Unfortunately, our experience after the purchase has been very disappointing. Within the first week of ownership, we noticed an engine ticking noise. After having the truck inspected, we were advised it requires approximately $8,000-$10,000 in repairs to make it roadworthy. We contacted the dealership and attempted to resolve the issue, but they were unwilling to assist, and we are now moving forward with the appropriate next steps.
I would encourage buyers to do their own independent inspection before purchasing any used vehicle, even when the vehicle is listed through a reputable marketplace.
