We spent quite some time integrating and testing everything to make sure it works, only to get this a half year later:
"We're writing to let you know that we're no longer able to support accounts operating from your registered location... Live payments and payouts on your account have been switched off."
For context we've passed verification, provided all the documents etc, our account was operating from EU.
0 days to migrate. 0 warnings. Just "YOU'RE SWITCHED OFF, BYE."
Our business is only just starting, so we can recover from this, but I cannot imagine the damage this could do to an established business. They treat businesses and their owners like GARBAGE. This is IRRESPONSIBLE SCAMMY behavior.
DO NOT MAKE YOUR BUSINESS DEPEND ON THIS COMPANY, OR YOU MIGHT BE NEXT.
And the cherry on top:
"Your wallet holds a small balance that is below the minimum threshold we're able to transfer to a bank account, so unfortunately we're unable to pay it out."

SCAM!! They closed our account without any valid reason and refused to return the money we had in our balance. They kept stalling us with one excuse after another and never returned our funds. They basically withheld our money. SCAM! Stay away from this service!

finding ways to hold funds and asking same documentation multiple times even if you submit it, their compliance issues arises once you started taking payments successfully and right when you are about to have your settlement with them.i am using other email id to report since they will start giving false justifications, their support wont entertain your query for days // weeks but will reply to trust pilot honest review immediately.. they are typical indian fraud psp.
instead of dodo payments should be ROBO payments (ROBBERS)

One of the worst payment gateway is dodo payment gateway. They are just scammer who just need a small thing to hold your funds. And when they don't get any reason they will create there own reason and directly suspend your account without any clarification.
For me they hold 90$ which is not much amount for me but issue is that i registered my website my website didn't changed a bit i was selling digital software. Then suddenly they replied you are selling gaming tools so we suspended your account when i checked hole issue they didn't replied anything when i checked everything then i realized they suspend my account for that website which is not in there scope for example they banned account because.org website selling games which is completely separate. And on .com i was selling software they .com by saying you selling gaming tools.
Never trust those scammer instead of go with any other company.

Customers were sent through your approved website so it looked like they were paying for something else. As soon as we raised this with you, you removed the payment page from the other website.
Your account was suspended only after a complete investigation, based on clear findings of a policy violation. We reached out to you for clarification before suspending your account.
We understand you may disagree with this outcome. However, the decision is final, and no further action is available on this matter.

I had an awful experience with Dodo…
I had an awful experience with Dodo Payments, and after what happened to me I would not trust them with a serious business.
I used them for almost 2 years with two completely normal products, both educational web apps for driving theory lessons and practice tests.
Then out of nowhere they decided they no longer supported my business and kept insisting I was somehow connected to Russia.
I explained 6 or 7 times that I am NOT from Russia, I am NOT based in Russia, and my business has nothing to do with Russia. Russia is far away from where I live. They still kept repeating the same nonsense.
At that point, it honestly felt like dealing with a completely incompetent compliance team that either could not understand basic information or simply did not care enough to check it properly.
Then they refunded around €600 to my customers.
So after almost 2 years of processing my payments and taking their fees, they suddenly reversed legitimate customer payments because of a reason that was factually wrong.
That is ridiculous.
If your compliance process cannot even identify what country a merchant is actually from after being corrected multiple times, you should seriously question whether your team is competent enough to be handling people's businesses and money.
For a small founder, €600 is not nothing. It is customer acquisition, advertising spend, time, revenue, and trust.
My advice: do not make Dodo Payments your only payment processor. My experience was that everything worked for almost 2 years, then one day their team made a completely wrong assumption, ignored repeated corrections, refunded my customers, and left me dealing with the damage.

In this case, one business was not approved because its product did not align with our Merchant Acceptance Policy. The other business was suspended because of multiple self/test transactions conducted in the Live environment. Self-test transactions are not permitted in Live mode; merchants must use Test mode for testing purposes.
To clarify, these decisions were not based on your location. They were based on the specific compliance findings associated with each business.
We understand that you may disagree with the outcome. However, the decisions remain final, and we will not reconsider this matter.

Payout Stuck and Support Is Nowhere to Be Found
Terrible experience with Dodo Payments. They verified and accepted my bank account, but after I processed payments and initiated my first payout, suddenly they claimed my routing number was missing — even though their bank setup never gave me a field to enter one.
My payout is now stuck. I contacted them by email with screenshots and full details — no reply. I contacted live support, which says they typically respond within a few hours — still no reply after hours and repeated messages.
I trusted their verification, integrated their payment system into my website, processed real money through them, and now I am left completely in the dark when trying to withdraw it.
This has cost me time, money, and trust. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend staying away from Dodo Payments.

All money taken without justification
Dodo Payments retained my entire balance after a 120-day hold without providing an itemized explanation
My experience with Dodo Payments has been extremely concerning. They approved my account and processed customer payments, but later closed the account and held my remaining balance for 120 days.
I was originally told that the hold was intended to cover possible refunds, chargebacks, disputes and other customer obligations. After the 120-day period ended, Dodo Payments informed me that they would retain the entire balance permanently and that no payout would be made
Their final email referred only to an unspecified “violation under our policies.” They did not identify the specific transaction or activity in question, the precise contractual clause allegedly violated, or provide an itemized calculation showing any refunds, chargebacks, fines or other losses covered by my balance. They also stated that the decision was final and would not be reconsidered
My main concern is the lack of transparency. Closing an account is one issue; permanently retaining a merchant’s full balance after the announced risk period has ended, without providing a specific explanation or accounting of the liabilities, is much more serious.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Dodo Payments to businesses that depend on predictable payouts. Before using this platform, merchants should carefully examine its reserve, termination and set-off provisions and understand that account approval does not necessarily guarantee that collected funds will ultimately be paid out.
I remain willing to update this review if Dodo Payments provides the applicable policy clause, the factual reason for its decision, and a complete accounting of how my balance was used.

We take these concerns seriously and want to clarify the facts.
Our compliance review found clear evidence that the account was being used to offer IPTV-related services. The product created through the account was also for IPTV-related services. IPTV is a prohibited business category under Dodo Payments’ Merchant Acceptance Policy.
Additionally, the account did not have a valid Return URL configured, which is a required part of the payment setup and further contributed to our compliance concerns.
As a regulated Merchant of Record, Dodo Payments must enforce its published policies consistently. We cannot permit prohibited activities or make exceptions when relevant business activities have not been disclosed during onboarding.
The 120-day reserve period exists to cover potential chargebacks, disputes, refunds, and other customer-related liabilities. The completion of this period does not create an obligation to release funds from an account that Dodo Payments has terminated for a policy violation. The reserve period and account termination are separate matters governed by our Terms of Service, which were accepted during onboarding.
Following our compliance review, we terminated the account in accordance with those terms. We have reviewed this matter multiple times and reached the same conclusion each time.
Our decision is final. We will not reopen the account, reverse the termination, reconsider the compliance decision, or release funds outside the terms applicable to the terminated account.
This decision was not arbitrary. It was based on the documented activity associated with the account, the product created, the absence of a Return URL, our Merchant Acceptance Policy, our Terms of Service, and our compliance obligations. We apply these requirements consistently across our merchant base.
We understand that you may disagree with the outcome; however, there is no further action available from our side regarding this matter.

As the Merchant of Record (MoR), we are responsible for maintaining the quality and integrity of the transactions processed through our platform. Excessive disputes directly impact our payment partners and the overall reliability of our platform. We therefore have an obligation to take appropriate action when a merchant presents an elevated dispute risk.
Account suspensions are made following an internal review of the relevant account activity and available information. We take these matters seriously and do not suspend merchant accounts arbitrarily, and we cannot continue supporting merchants whose products or services result in consistently high customer dissatisfaction and dispute rates.
