I’m Heather, also known as the Verdant Butterfly.
I write poetry, short fiction, and humor rooted in folklore and fantasy. Much of what I create is meant to offer something to the reader, whether that’s a sense of connection, a bit of escape, or a well placed laugh.
You’ll find pieces inspired by fae lore and my Scottish American roots, from fairy poems and imagined worlds to stories that carry a sharper edge when the moment calls for it or the occasional well timed bit of mischief.

…poetry in both structured and freeform styles, including tanka, haiku, and rhyming verse, alongside short fiction that ranges from folklore and fantasy to the occasional darker piece when the mood calls for it. There are recurring threads and characters that build over time, as well as writing prompts, challenges, and creative experiments.
