Maybe it’s just a slightly more direct and intimate way to stay in touch? A little more like getting a postcard or a letter in the post than picking up a newspaper on a bus perhaps. You’re in charge of what you read, and when you read it. I won’t inundate you. And you get full access to the newsletter and publication archives.

Slow writing, slow reading

I take a lot of care writing these pieces. They require walking and noticing, thinking and research, iPhone photos - and time. I’m not in a fluster. And you don’t have to be either. Every new post is sent directly to your email inbox.

I hope to make more of my pieces available via my own voice recordings as I get the hang of all this. But, you know, time, time, time …

The Substack sales pitch says there’s a chance to connect with a community of people here who share your interests. That said, feel free to drop a wee note in the comments section, and I’ll do my best to check in.

And check out some of my recommendations for other thoughtful, meditative reads.

I’m grateful for all of your support and interest. Everything I’m writing here is FREE to read right now.

That said, I’m hugely grateful to the many of you who’ve pledged paid subscriptions. I haven’t taken these offers up as yet. But once I establish a longer, deeper body of work and a wee bit more of a rhythm, I may be in touch again to check if you’re still happy to offer this.
