Why so many names?

I started publishing under the name Jenny Chu (well, actually, the username jennychu2) in 1990. Much later, I started going by Jan Chu. As of 2023, I’m going by Jan Lee. I am cautiously optimistic that this one will stick. The idea behind using the name Jan Lee is that it is both ethnically ambiguous and gender ambiguous, so that no stereotypes can be formed.
