What’s In Kind on Monday?

Career, motherhood, ambitions, and aims; personal style, curiosities, and community.

In short, it’s more of the stories and conversations we love exploring in each issue of the print magazine, brought to life every week on Mondays for our paid subscribers. We believe nothing’s as powerful as sharing our questions, wonderings, and honest thoughts—and that when we all remember that someone out there feels the same way, well, it’s magical.

“Sometimes I feel like I’m living in a parallel universe when I read the newsletter (except I could never articulate it the way they do). These ladies just get it. Forever grateful for this community.”—Anne C.

By subscribing, you’ll get full access to everything we’ve posted—and you’ll be helping us build the world we want to live in, enabling us to continue focusing on the In Kind universe alongside our full-time jobs and outside-the-magazine obligations. Paid subscriptions include weekly posts and access to comments and in-real-life invitations (with our founding members receiving even deeper community benefits—like first access to retreat tickets!).

Be a part of our community

In Kind started from an organic interest in all the things touching a modern woman’s life as she navigated career, relationships, motherhood, and keeping her own personal interests and desires fed and alive.

Every single strike of our keyboard comes with a humming hope: Someone else out there must be feeling this way, too. The minute we realized that, yes, you were there, In Kind positively bloomed. Community has been an important aspect of what we’re building from the beginning, and it continues to become an even bigger focus with every day.

“This newsletter resonates so much with me. Thank you for the beautiful words. I’m always looking forward to it.”—Melanie

Join us and become part of a community of people who share your interests. By supporting our work with a paid subscription, you’ll get access to the intimate essays we write every week, conversations with other mothers, creatives, founders, and ambitious, I’m-seeking-something-special types, and a comments section to connect with each other.

With our move to Substack, we are folding our members-only Patreon into this world and will be sharing our more intimate, behind-the-scenes looks and takes (including vlogs) with our founding members. Paid subscriptions at that level will also get first crack at tickets to our intimate in-person retreats, too.

We hope to talk to you soon!

Our journey has seen us go from colleagues to friends to co-founders, and while things have certainly changed along the way, one thing’s for certain: We’ve never stopped talking.

The magazine and newsletter are both written and edited by us, Leah Melby Clinton and Hannah Weil McKinley. We’ve spent decades working in traditional women’s media and, more recently, in brand storytelling (and doing that wildly insane work of raising small people).

The experience of shepherding In Kind into reality is one of the most significant, impactful things either of us have done—and we couldn’t be more excited that you’re a part of this story, too. x
