Recently had my Corvette transported from Knoxville TN to Richmond VA. Picked up around 11 am and delivered 7:30pm the next day. 21 1/2 hours later on a two car enclosed trailer. Its a 6 1/2 hour drive? Car left the showroom and arrived covered in thick dust and driver climbing through window to unload car left scratches on top of door and mud in the interior. No GPS but was able to contact driver twice during the day. Keep in mind these transports are contracted out. Atlas was the company that transported mine. Never again!! Especially any high end cars!

I chose this company because of the outstanding reviews, and they have exceeded my expectations every step of the way. The customer service, professionalism, and attention to detail have been truly exceptional.

I was recommended to Sherpa as the #1 for car shipping but the person on the phone today was extremely rude. He explained everything so fast I couldn't understand and when I started saying that I'll review the quote he hanged up. Service is important and having someone with this attitude as the face of your company is not good for the business.

I would never use this car shipping company again.

My vehicle wasn’t even picked up until a week and a half after the original pickup date, causing a major inconvenience. During that time, I was given excuse after excuse and constantly had to reach out for updates because no one kept me informed.

Once the vehicle was finally in transit, the communication only got worse. Every time I called, I received a different explanation about the status of my shipment. There was no transparency or accountability throughout the process.

To make matters worse, after we had already agreed on a price, I was later pressured to pay significantly more when my vehicle was delivered. I never agreed to the higher amount, and being put in that position after my car was already in transit was completely unacceptable and unprofessional.

Overall, the experience was filled with delays, poor communication, changing stories, and pricing issues. I expected honesty, reliability, and professionalism, but unfortunately, I received none of those. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for dependable auto transport.

I used them once before and they were very good. However, this time the communications was poor and they delivered the car with obvious damage. They said that the transporter would organize repair. Then silence. Finally, they told me to organize the repair and it would be reimbursed. Then they refused to reimburse the repair. Very disappointed and angry that they spent two months wasting my time.

I had a horrible experience with this company. At the time of delivery, I wasn't present to receive and inspect the vehicle. The driver just mentioned not to worry. Once I got home, I noticed paint damage to the front hood. When I reached out, the driver refused assistance. I have since tried to contact Sherpa multiple times via both email and phone to resolve the issue, but they have completely ignored me and never replied back. Their customer service is non-existent once they have your money. Very bad customer service! I will be contacting the FMCSA to solve my issue. Avoid this company. I've used Sherpa Auto Transport twice for cross-country relocations, and both experiences have been excellent. Their communication is clear, their customer service is responsive, and the entire process has been smooth from start to finish.

My first move was from the San Francisco Bay Area to Philadelphia. While I don't recall the specific carrier Sherpa assigned, my vehicle was delivered in about 10 days. Since I wasn't in a hurry, that timeline worked perfectly for me. The driver was even able to deliver my car directly to my apartment complex rather than requiring me to meet at an alternate location, which was incredibly convenient.

Most recently, I made the reverse move from Philadelphia back to San Francisco. This time, Sherpa partnered with TA Transportation, and they were outstanding. I was impressed by their quick delivery timeline, thorough vehicle inspection and documentation, and flexibility throughout the process.

Originally, they estimated my car would arrive just 3–4 days after pickup. However, because I wasn't scheduled to land in San Francisco until about a week later, I contacted them to discuss my situation. They were extremely accommodating and worked with me to arrange delivery at a location near SFO shortly after my arrival. That level of customer service made a potentially stressful relocation much easier.

My vehicle arrived in good condition, with no issues beyond the expected layer of road dust from a cross-country trip.

Based on both experiences, I would confidently recommend Sherpa Auto Transport and TA Transportation to anyone planning a long-distance move. Their professionalism, communication, and flexibility made both relocations seamless and stress-free.

Where do I start?!

Communication was awful all around.

It took three weeks for our car to be picked-up. Going between two major cities. Before pikc-up, we asked multiple times for a notice because they gave us a 3 day window on week days (are we just supposed to not go to work for 3 days until it is picked up?)

We were given 0 notice, call at like 6:30am. And we had to drive 15-minutes just to drop it at the truck. (thank god it was before work).

We begged!!! For early notice before delivery. Why? So we could plan around work! We were promsied 12 hour notice. Not only were we tracking the GPS location of our car, but we could see it was only 3 hours away, still a day late on delivery.

Only after I called the driver, did the driver tell me he would not deliver that day. And I said we would not be around for the now even later delivery due to work conflicts. He said too bad.

We had to drive 5 hours to Philly to get our car.

0 accounatbility at Sherpa. 0 ability to problem-solve. Car was super late. Terrible communication.

Oh ya, we were also promised top rack – which we did not get.

I was originally told the transport would take only 3–6 days. Instead, it took 11 days with constant delays, excuses, and zero professionalism.

I asked multiple times for basic updates and even requested a simple picture of the vehicle’s mileage/odometer, and they still failed to send it. The driver barely answered the phone, and customer service was completely useless the entire time.

Nobody seemed organized or capable of handling a serious business professionally. Every time I contacted them, I received different information and empty promises.

I would NEVER recommend these companies to anyone, no matter how cheap their prices are. Saving a little money is not worth the stress, wasted time, poor communication, and unprofessional treatment.

I had success with them twice before, so I referred my friend to them for a move he had coming up. He had the bumper RIPPED OFF one of the two vehicles shipped and no one reported it, but just “stuck it back on” only to have it fall off as he was taking the car home! Fortunately, no one got hurt. Sherpa does not answer calls or emails from him, regarding this now. HORRIBLE customer service. I’ll not be using them again or referring them!

Update- They finally returned my call, but ultimately left the matter up to the carrier that transported my friend’s car, who actually claimed the bumper was already damaged when they accepted the car to be shipped! What a joke! Does that make sense to anyone?? DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

I have a classic car, The carrier was very careful and respectful of my car. He was super careful in loading it in the trailer. At the destination, they were equally careful unloading it. I felt like I could trust them.
